- Join Carla Lalli Music in the Bon Appétit Test Kitchen as she makes broccoli delight. What is broccoli delight, you ask? Why, it's what happens when the stars align and a smattering of seemingly unconnected ingredients find unity in the confines of a pan. And if that doesn't make sense to you, basically it's melty, cheesy sautéed broccoli with chili flakes and lemon.

Right? I hate that aspect of food blogs, but it's totally what we want if it's a BA test kitchen video! 😂❤️
@@deprofundis3293 That can be pretty annoying in food blogs, as I usually arrive at them looking for specific recipes, and anything extraneous hinders my progress.The BA test kitchen channel, on the other hand, I usually seek out for general inspiration and entertainment. Many cookbooks, as opposed to blogs, I do often enjoy for their more biographical or literary aspects. It depends on the quality of the writing, or how interesting the author is.
Agreed. I think its because when I'm looking up a written recipe I want to be in and out of there quickly. However on a BA video recipe I know I'm in it for 10-30 minutes of pure entertainment.
I find that these days I'm watching BA for the staff more than the food. A good recipe is just an added benefit

Cheese usually does help getting littles to go for broccoli.
My 3 year old will only eat the florets and only if it is at least slightly overcooked.
@@beth8775 I used to only eat the stems because they´re so sweet and have a very even texture. (I´m still not a fan of the floret texture, to be honest, but at almost 40 you have to be your own mom...)

I love how this is pretty well 2 ingredients. I'm glad ba has a mix of complex recipes and really simple ones like this. It makes cooking less daunting to have them all in the one place.

@@alainapotaduh I feel like most of the people I've met who don't like broccoli don't like it because they've only had it boiled to death and unseasoned as a kid. If you've never tried it cooked like this you definitely should. If you still don't like it then more for me!

Charred or hard roasted broccoli is a completely different thing than what it tastes like in any other form. It's incredibly delicious!
