The lions need not concern themselves with the opinions of the zebras. If you want to these types of workouts, just do them bro! I’m sure these cross fitters don’t care what other people think. 👍
As long as a person is getting stronger, fitter, healthier... why judge at all? Encourage everyone to do what motivates them!! I think crossfit is way cool.
going from powerlifting to weightlifting feels like when i first started at the gym 35 years ago all over again. cant help but feel awkward at first i guess. thatll go away after awhile lol. cheers
i know this is years later but here you go, strength exercises (8 - 12 reps) will be better for building muscle size and stability while the jerk (2-6 reps) will be better for overall force output and is a good foundation to set for stronger muscles.
The jerk requires more athleticism and coordination, so it's unnecessary if your only goal is hypertrophy or pure strength. So ultimately it depends on what you're training for. Focus on the jerk if you compete in Crossfit or Weightlifting, focus on the press if you compete in Strongman or just want to build muscle.
It's nothing but, if u r dealing with heavy weight u will automatically perform a jerk. If it's a easier weight, u will perform a press. Just adding momentum inorder to handle more weights.
Nice short and to the point good video
To the point and just what I was looking for. Thanks for the video!
Hello, I followed you from Iran, your work is excellent, I wish you success and good health.👍👏
Super helpful and clear. You kick ass!
Thanks Lizzy!
lol I just realised a have been doing clean and push presses instead of clean and jerks xD I will practice the Jerk. Great explanation
Very informative video. Have started learning CrossFit after Boxing. Thanks for the video
Damn. Congrats on that build ma'am
I feel weird doing these workouts in a typical gym... I used to roll my eyes at the cross fitters lol

@K H never worry about what others think

Other people aren’t making gains for you.
Thanks for the video, it is clear to the point. My only question is which is better for what type of muscle development.

The first one was a push press, the second one was a split jerk and last one was a push jerk.
What bar is best for men?
Thank you!
Great video, thank you 🙏
How about push jerk and both feet going sideways,
So the difference is mainly in the explosiveness of the movement?
Jerk movement you must get under the bar instead of pushing it.
@@vacinadefrangoedurateston2532 I think the elevation (arm drive) is important too, as Catalyst Athletics explains in his power vs split jerk videos.
Why do one vs the other? Are there benefits to the the jerk vs the push press?

Jerk doesn't require as much pushing strength, and it has a higher load potential. It uses more back/legs depending on the kind of jerk.
Smooth..👍

Great.
Muy buen ejercicio
👏
👍👍👍👍👍👍
🔥🔥👌
You put it over your head from an elevated position with a push jerk, it’s impressive for your size but not what you’re trying to portray
You are so awesome. I fall in love ♥
