We got to see that "boss hen" first hand this weekend on one of our turkey hunts. She was the one that started yelping and going nuts when I lit the fire and began making some noise to get the gobblers closer. I love your videos and your knowledge about turkey hunting, calls and tactics. Always good to get a notification you have a new video up.
Try to keep your gobbler yelps to two to three notes. Three yelps alone or a quick cluck and two long slow yelps. Rarely do gobblers make more notes than that in a sequence. Try and see if it makes what you’re doing more effective or increases the amount of times it works for you.
I have a nice Box made by Albert Paul. It is a Holly body with an Ebony Paddle. Super raspy. Made as a Henry Edwards Davis series. He only hunted in the Fall. I have the Lynch World Champion too. Good 2nd video here on Gobbler Yelping!
I’m very new to hunting and did not realize the gobblers also Yelp. I’m pretty sure that i have mixed up the Yelp pace as I’ve been in the woods. This definitely helps and i will be practicing a great deal more.
3 days left this spring and I've been skunked everywhere on WMA in York County, SC. Saw 2 hens opening day on Herbert Kirsch and nothing since on HK or McConnels tract or Draper`s. Not a cluck, pluck, gobble, purr, kee-kee, freaking nothing. The only thing I saw today that started with Tur... was 2 turtles. I go in early and slow through the trees. I'm very quiet. Hardly any signs. Any ideas?

Man I'm glad I found this video. I've been trying to learn the gobbler yelp. Thank you Mr. Dale

Truly the best video I’ve ever seen on this topic. Awesome instruction on a topic i didn’t know much about. Thanks Matt

Oh yeah it's good to refresh an old video sir I certainly do appreciate you taking the time thanks man
Two best things my grandad left me, a lynch box call and a 12 gauge. They'll both be getting some work this spring.

Same here
Awesome content thanks for the video. I just subscribed this spring. Learning a lot from you.
Thank you! Never knew about this. Good presentation.
Got two old box lynch calls. Still use them.
So when I’m yelping, how much am I pressing down on the reeds for the top end of the yelp? Just wondering, I’m completely new to mouth calls!
Did anyone else hear a gobble after his first hen yealp
Gobblers have a corse yep fall hunting all you have to do is scatter them and you can call them all right back to you

Just thanks, helpful videos.
Will jakes gobbler yelp and get a dominate tom fired up?
What brand diaphragms you use? I use custom, very low stretch, easy to soft call....
Just worked for me today in the northeast
Can you show is how to do this on a slate call?
I find not talking or rushing up my slates on my box calls for gobbler Yelp and works a lot better
You call them to death.
Practice matt
