There being 24-hours in a day and those hours can be divided by 8, giving 3-hours per 8 divisions. Being that they are 3-divisions in the problem, 3 times 3 yields 9, the answer being 9:00 AM (0900 hours). Here's another method... 3/8=x/24 3*24=8x 8x=3(3*8) x=9 Therefore the answer is 9:00 AM (0900 hours)
At the title card, didn't even look at a clock (but mentally visualized one), my answer is 9:00am. Each quarter of the 12-hour clock is 3 hours, twice around the face is 24 hours, 3/8 or 24 hours is 9 hours.
it depends on the day of the year. On the winter solstice it is a short day, and the summer solstice a long day. And it changes every day. Something to think about?
IDK sometimes I find trying to break problems down into simpler form is harder in some respects than just thinking "OK there are 24 hours in a day, and we are talking about 3/8 of a day... 4/8 wouild be half a day so 12 hours, but to get from 3/8 to 24 we multiple the denominator by 3 and the numerator by 3 to get 9/24 or 9 hours of the day. I guess with many things, there are different ways to approach a problem and still get the same result, but sometimes I feel doing th long route seems to complicate things (I know here it's being explained using the "long" method of breaking the problem down but by first looking I could just tell that 8 goes into 24 three times and to maintain 3/8 in terms of 24ths, it's 9/24ths).
Thats always been my biggest problem in math, keeping track of figures in my head. The numbers disappear as the steps progress. i have to see the figrures written down.
Greetings. The answer should be 4 hours and 24 minutes from now. It is now 4:36 in the morning. The answer is calculated by 3/8 by 24 to get 3 by 3 for 9:00 AM.
Many can't do this? Yes, I agree. I watch a You Tuber ask college students how many minutes there are in a quatre of an hour. So many answered 25 with the upmost certainty. 😪. So, the next time a bunch of college students start protesting about climate change, trans rights or anything else, remember they are protesting things that they don't understand and maybe never will.
I have no idea what anything you posted has to do with how long is 3/8 of a day, but since you brought up the subject what do YOU know about climate change or trans rights?
@@rogeraffleck8677 I know the majority of those advocates are not that bright and are not the best of critical thinkers. They are so emotionally driven that they're incapable of thinking of the long-term repercussions. I know that hormone blockers are not a pause button and that gender affirming care does not reduce self harm. I know that kids don't have the mental capacity to make life long decisions that will leave them sterile and incapable of sexual gratification. I have compassion for these kids, there is a problem. We will look back on the solution with the same distain as lobotomies and eugenics. Scandinavia has done all the experiments and have backtracked to mental health. As for climate change, as with everything that is politicized, the truth and solutions become obscured by politicians driven by greed and power.
Very easy. 24 hours in a day, so 1/8 of that is 3 hours. 3/8 is 9 hours, Assume that a day starts at midnight (iirc, there are some countries where the day starts at a different hour), the answer is 9 am.
Actually. If 9 hours has passed, the minute hand and second hand has to be ever so little past 9 on the analog clock face. It then has to be something near 9:01 AM
The only problem I had is what does 3/8 of the day is done? 3/8 of 24 is 9 hours. But the next time is 10 am after 9 hours is done. See my confusion? Edit: Ok. I counted on my fingers from midnight and understand it now. Edit: should have waited, your clock is like my fingers. Duh!
This is a little ambiguous. Colloquially, the "day is done" when the sun goes down. I'm assuming you mean a 24 hour day, but it would have been clearer to ask, "when 'a' day is done," since "a" day assumes 24 hours.
Completely wrong. The question asks what is 3/8 of the day, not what is 3/8 of a day! The day is ~12 hours, the other 12 hours is night. Therefore, 3/8 x 12 = 4.5 hours! (P.S. - A full revolution of the earth, a day, is not 24 hours, it is 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4. 1 seconds! )
Too long an explanation and too complicated. Convert 3/8th of a day into 24hr day by multiplying n/d by 1 as 3/3 as you have shown in so many other videos which makes a 9/24th hour or 0900.
Got it. 9 AM simple fraction thanks for the fun.
It depends on when you get up.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Starting at midnight .. and there are 24 hours in a day.
1/8th is therefore 3 hours
3/8ths is 9 hours .. taking you to 9am.
Good explanation. That's how I arrived at 9 am.
Right.. And "many can't do this?!?"
Fine explanation. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your efforts.

3/8=x/24
3*24=8x
8x=3(3*8)
x=9
Therefore the answer is 9:00 AM (0900 hours)
(3/8)day × 24hours/day=
9hours
9hours from midnight= 9a.m.
9 am I am 72 and got to the correct answer a bit clumsy. So thanks for the refresher.

24 ÷ 8 = 3
3×3 = 9

24/8 ? Multiply by 3 = 9:00
How does he spin it out so long?
Thats always been my biggest problem in math, keeping track of figures in my head. The numbers disappear as the steps progress. i have to see the figrures written down.
Me too! But with a pencil I can almost match a calculator speed! Weird 🫣

Why complicate things ? 4/8 of 12 hours is 6 , +1/8 which equals 3 hours . Add 6 and 3 = 9 o’clock

Write 24 numbers 1-24,put them in 8 sections - 1,2,3 one section,456 second section, 789 third section
Actually. If 9 hours has passed, the minute hand and second hand has to be ever so little past 9 on the analog clock face. It then has to be something near 9:01 AM
I have no idea what the answer is. Because I don't know what 3/8th is equivilant to in fractions.
3/8 of 24 from midnight = 9 hrs or 9AM
3 pm or 3 am.
The only problem I had is what does 3/8 of the day is done? 3/8 of 24 is 9 hours. But the next time is 10 am after 9 hours is done. See my confusion?

Good 1!

That is the peblem. Define day for the problem, test, or course. 3/8; daylight on the Dalton Highway in December is goigbto be close to 0.
And yet, it takes nearly a quarter of an hour to explain how 3x3=9.
9 a.m. assuming day starts at midnight. 1/8 of 24 hours is 3. 3/8 of 24 is 9.
Well, a day starts at 12:00 pm and ends at 5:pm, right?
Night is not a day and neither is evening or morning 😊
I am going with 9:00 am, now I will watch.
9:00 o'clock in the morning
24÷8=4; 4×3=12: Easy Peasy!
An effort was made. A-
look at your answer again 24 ÷ 8 or multiply 8 x your answer.
9:00am
It called just entering New Earth! 2018-2019 Before Nothing was Possible!
It's good. We get older. Need to use it
Tomorrow?
3/8 × 24 = 72/8 = 9am
Correction: 9am
10:30 am
9 hours
got it
Um, 9am
(3/8)(24 h) = 9 h
9 o'clock
9
9am
If you start at 12 am, then 9am.
Remember a day is 24 hours dividing by 8 gives us 3 hours I stand corrected it is 9:00am
08:00
9AM
9am, 3 seconds flat
2am{3÷80}=26.2=2:02am
9 am
24÷8×3=9 am
9 a.m is 3/8 of the day that starts at 1 a.m
That woould be 8 hours which is 1/3 of a day
YAY!!
15 hrs when sun rises at 6am.
1/8th of 24 hours is 3 hours. 3/8's would be 9 hours, so 9 am.
24 × 3/8 = 9
10am
9a.m.
9 AM
9hours
9 am. Simple.
24 hours in a day. 3/8 = 9/24. So 9 a.m.
Either 9 am, or 9 pm, 3*8=24,
3*3= 9 but a day has more than 24 hrs, so dont know the time
24 ÷ 8 = 3 x 3 = 9 from midnight count and it will be 9am
The day starts at midnigt or 12:01am.
I a getting 8am 3/8 of a day.
you start counting at 1am
9:00 am based on 24 hours …4:30 am based on 12:00 hours
12 hours is only a half of a day.
Never receive your Interpretations from a Satanists
Starting at midnight the answer is 3:00am
24 ÷ 8 = 3 x 3 = 9
I had 0900 hrs.
Breakfast time.
First you have to define what you mean by Day 24hrs or sunrise to sunset.
Completely wrong. The question asks what is 3/8 of the day, not what is 3/8 of a day! The day is ~12 hours, the other 12 hours is night. Therefore, 3/8 x 12 = 4.5 hours! (P.S. - A full revolution of the earth, a day, is not 24 hours, it is 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4. 1 seconds! )
9:00a..m
9 in the morning. You need 13 minutes to explain it?
3:00 a.m.
24 ÷ 8 = 3 x 3 = 9
Is it a Jewish day? Just kidding!
9H00 AM , of course. Easy! :)
Too long an explanation and too complicated. Convert 3/8th of a day into 24hr day by multiplying n/d by 1 as 3/3 as you have shown in so many other videos which makes a 9/24th hour or 0900.
Yet another repeated post from 6 months back. Why don't you at least change the numbers a bit.
