Seriously, the last tip transformed my game. I have been so focused on the lower body in the downswing, that I forgot about my shoulders completely. I just hit a ton of shots on the button just getting the shoulders to turn completely around my spine. It felt like magic. Thank you so much!
Hafta drop a line to say thank you. I started the league in mid April at a 24 handicap. After binge watching your videos, I'm down to 15. Please keep them coming.
Hi Matt, Thing I'm not doing well is my follow through as you address in the video. I'm conscious of this and I am addressing the flaw. I also notice that when I do follow through my chest is parallel. Thanks again for the content. Stay well
Great tips about the shoulders. In the last segment, 'Tip # 5, Rotate Through the Shot', the rate of turn in your right shoulder is not constant. In the slo-mo your right shoulder briefly slows down prior to impact which slings the arms through the ball (generates power). After that you continue your rotation completely through the shot as you describe. So there is more to it. Regardless, Tip # 5 works pretty good for me. I need to eliminate the left side of the golf course or I will run out of balls.
Great tips. Shoulder/torso/hip turn is what I focus on to try and fix a sway/reverse pivot. Sometimes I get hung up in the backswing on turning my left (lead) shoulder under, which can feel like a big turn, but often don’t turn the rest enough, including right shoulder, causing fat, casting, over the top, early extension etc. So, I’m trying to focus more on turning my right trail shoulder back and around. So far seems to work, even for chips and putting. Any dangers with this swing thought?
Thank you for these tips. i am probably the one that bumps my left shoulder into my head allot of times. I hit the Driver straight, but feel I could get more distance from my shots. take care.
Great video..im sure ive got 1 or more of those. I never thought about OVER rotating my shoulders. ill have to remember to try that next time. Maybe you can do a video (unless you have already) of a proper distance from the ball with woods and irons at the tee and fairway.
The lead arm higher then the trail arm…Ben Hogan talks about this in his book, “Ben Hogan’s Power Golf”. In Chapter 3, Stance Gives You Balance, “Here is a little trick which will enable you to check if your elbows are in the correct position when you take up your stance at the ball. I have inserted an iron club under the left elbow and over the inside of the right elbow to show that the right arm should be underneath the left.”
sometimes it's the simplest things! I tend to fall into the I'm always to tense or stiff. And due to my physical shape my flexibility suffers. But I will try to apply this to my setup/swing next time I hit the range. Another little tip would be hold your head against a wall and do the swing if you can keep head against the wall and your shoulders level that has helped me in the past.
I got and can do everything you said all but the tilting that just makes me pop fly it out lol I have to stay vertical but I do not titing messes me all up but everything else is good coach and again I love my hat it’s changing my game lol
Most of his tips that I needed work on help me bro my short game was turrible lol keep checking him out it will pay off but if somethings you do work keep because that titing doesn’t work for me it makes me pop fly lol
From the guys at Athletic Motion Golf (AMG), the biggest shoulder difference between Amateurs & Pros is that 'on average', Pros have a 40-degree tilt-angle with their shoulders and Amateurs only have a 20-degree tilt. This significant difference is almost always associated with Amateurs 'fanning' the club open in the backswing to the angle of the back, whereas Pros, being steeper, keep the club's face angle square to their back. Obviously, this is not everyone, but MOST amateurs need MORE shoulder tilt.
You said shoulders should be level. But we are tilted, so our left shoulder points to the ball. I can’t see the shoulders being level. I like the illustrations of a full rotation of the shoulders. I’m flexible so I can imagine my shoulders going beyond facing the target. I guess extension is the point that the shoulders point towards the target, but then keep rotating. While I sit out a groin strain (ugly 10 inch in diameter black and blue mark in my right side) I’m concerned with gauging the speed of putts in order to determine potential distance. Is there a device that reads the speed of putts. So that I can think about at what point the speed of the putt slows down?
It’s natural to want to learn from each other. But sometimes people exaggerate proper form when addressing the ball. The shoulder tilt at address was too much with the right shoulder being lower than the left. When a ship doesn’t sit right in the ocean, it has to be given up on. I will make sure that I don’t overly exaggerate the right shoulder tilt.
At 6:51 I noticed that your club head at the top of your backswing is quiet. It appears that you have solved your concerns about the unsteady movement at the top of your backswing. You probably meditated extensively about your swing to solve the problem. I see that you mean that the shoulders should be level relative to the spine angle. Maybe with a groin strain experienced on the third tee I shouldn’t have played through to the eighteenth hole. But I learned to very much respect my three wood. The injury occurred with my driver. John Shylee who was trained by Hogan, said if he teed off on the eighteenth tee with a seven iron in three majors he would have won those majors. The point is that control in golf rules the roost. If you want to stick your chest out and feel proud like a rooster value control above all else. Maybe next year you will win the RUclips golf tournament. Be Great Be Good and Be Lucky
About threw your back out with the exaggerated follow through 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for all of your videos, have applied many on the courses throughout Saudi Arabia and I can see a distinct improvement in my game, especially within 100 yards! Can you please cover identifying the differences in technique applied to swinging a driver vs irons?

Wow. This video was perfect, I felt like you made it specifically for me lol. Excellent, thank you
Good morning Mr. SG! Great video once again. Thank you. Great set up with your simulator and screen! 👍 Lenny

tensing up is one of my issues - trying too hard. how do you combine breathing with the swing? to you exhale as you swing, like in tennis?
Great videos. I really appreciate the humor.

I love this video Matt incredibly helpful
Great tips, thank you.
"You don't want to come home with a black eye and a broken nose from your swing." LOL. That is a riot Matt

Hey Matt, what do I do with my partner since it seems that I have to carry him on my shoulders every week at league? That's go to be mistake #6.
Thanks Matt.

Great tips my man !! Appreciated
What simulator do you use? Also if you don't mind asking what does it go for?
Thanks Mr Short Game
Matt thanks for your knowledge. I’ve definitely shaved a few strokes off

Funny uncomplicated instruction coupled with a great personality, black eye, broken nose haha, your cool man, subscribed.
"186 yards..., I can't live like that." Preach, because that's how I'm living.
I felt personally attacked.
Lol @ his terrible shots being perfectly acceptable in my world
It’s like buying that Mr. SG hat has given you a portal into my golf game struggles
Yeah I got 1 of them hats too just loved what he teaches and the way he does it
@@dabatmaniamoutthed7975 the last three of his videos have corrected issues I was actively struggling with...

Relax, enjoy the swing.

Is this the stack and tilt method?
MSG has such Godly Accuracy, that he tries to Teach Us a Bad Shot, and the Ball still Lands right down the Middle of the Fairway... Hahaha 😁💯

Would a camera angle from your forehead show us more info on the shoulder turn? Or other useful tips?
Thanks Matt!
"shoulders", lol.
Good tips, especially with the rotating all the way through.
"You shouldn't come home with a black eye and a broken nose"...LOL...should be on your list of goals every time you golf.
Shout out to Manolo Vega Golf @ 1:55 into the video! “And dats it”

Hahaha that face when showing the first mistake
Broke 100 for the first time today. Thank you for your videos!!!
Hit it 186 Yards I can't live with that and I thinking that not bad shot. :)

Have you run out of topic ideas? I have a few that might spur others.
I damn near passed out from suffocation at the range last week. Here I thought I just had manly shoulders.
That last one is me all the way. Now I know why it happens. Might have saved my sanity.
🙌🏿👌🏿
Ever seen Daniel Van Tonder's swing lol. Classic dip through the backswing...hilarious to watch.
Saguto would disagree with you on your level shoulder tip.
Dude. If you just fixed my snap hook with my woods, I might come find you and kiss you. Just warning you now, so there is no surprise. Good stuff!
Over rotate your shoulder? 👀At 77 I would then Need an appointment 😷 for back and neck 🪚surgery
😎👍
