Looks like another batch of American Kestrels will soon be on the way!
I really liked seeing the USA/Canada veterans commemorative unit; I didn't even know it existed. There were some beautiful storm sequences in this one--hope everyone stayed safe--and any day when I see the monarch car is a happy one. That bridge at Burlington is just so gorgeous!!! And I loved the Loram at Fort Madison. Another terrific one--thanks!
Hey, private moment, there!!! But the rimshot finish was about right...LOL!
the kastrels at 16:00 was sooooooo funny! The drum shot was a nice touch.
Falcons.
Spring is in the air..........and that's where little falcons come from.😊
Kestrels .. those were Kestrels :)
Kestrels. New ones coming soon to a nest near you!
Learning from birds about the birds and the bees. Seems legit, but I'd assume they would've liked some privacy. LOL! XD
Y'all realize the falcons weren't doing a circus trick, right? LOL!
I never thought I would see X rated stuff here!
💀
Try kestrels.
Definitely a quickie! 😄
😂😂
Very good video love the Butterfly, Military and rest
A little cloacal kiss at the end. toot toot!
It looks like that lightning strike was right next to that watertower at Galesburg illinois
I didn't know that there's a boxcar devoted to saving the monarch butterfly. That's cool! My favorite butterfly no less.
CP and KCS displayed it at Kansas City Union Station about 2 years ago for the save the manarchs program when the box car was new (clean)
It always makes me happy to see it because it means that somebody cares, and there's hope.
It's Springtime. Nuggie time.
Like most men...it was a quickie!! 😂😂😂😂
16:21, Rim shot!
I was going to play the song, "Sweet mystery of life....
@@joepeach997 LOL!
Butterfly 🦋
Like seeing those Loram rail grinders working at night, nice catch with manifest on other main in Ft Madison, nice meets, power and loads!🛤🚂
Nice!....@13:05....first time i have seen this. Means a lot to me bc I have French-Can ancestors and family serving in our US Military.
❤ from Buffalo.
That little dude's smile at 9:27 made me smile 😎😎
If the falcons have a baby, are we having a naming contest?
Good idea
@@Retireddriver Good idea? That's a funny name for a bird!
Whenever I see speeded-up video of individual MOW units zipping along, it always reminds me of Wacky Races 🤣
Great video lots of Tinker and cool thunderstorm bolts
It's hilarious that the video ends with some classic "train going through the tunnel" action. The future of that bird species is insured.
That was a great way to end the video. 😅 love the butterfly 🦋
4:10 I saw that very DOTX car in Barstow a few weeks ago with my best friend. Man does that bring back memories.
I actually saw that ton of MOW sitting at Tinker Creek
sad seeing that awesome monarch butterfly car covered in graffiti
Agreed. I despise and like graffiti at the same time
Per Usual, another great video from Virtual Railfan!
5:00 is that the CSX chessie heritage unit, a 3 way meet and 2 ex NYC cars
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, especially the Heritage Units, military trains, a lightning strike in Deshler, Ohio, and so much more, I like them, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much.
Thumbs up🎉
Two beautiful Ladies wearing Grinstein Green colour tonight, thanks VRF
The birds are probably looking for a privacy suit..lol
& that's how birds are made
The lightning was crazy last night.
Falcons gonna Falcon
The "Lovebirds",😮caught in the "Do"...🦅
Kestrels doing the "nasty", LOL.
I'm a fan of the railfan's fans familily xD
Nice opening JP.
Thanks! Open with a Butterfly, close with birds, lol.
@@joepeach997 You do great work and try to balance all of the VRF cameras and reports. BTW, a few of the recent ones were "found" by me just watching trains roll along.
@@joepeach997 And sting like a bee?
*Nice Catches*
Monarch boxcar again!
I can tell you exactly what happened to the semi trailer. Brakes caught on fire. It looks like it damaged the axles as well as those are too wide for the trailer. The wrecker was there as an escort and to keep an eye on the back of the trailer. Either he was empty or pretty empty when it happened or they did a great job of limiting the fire to the rear. With the frame buckled, I'd say it was probably the first thing.
I wonder whats the story of that extra-crispy semi-trailer
Probably a brake failing to release. They can generate enough heat to set the tires on fire. I've seen it happen before.
@@maynardcarmer3148 Could have been a bad wheel bearing or flat tire instead.
Yep, it could have been, but I was a heavy equipment mechanic for more than 40 years, and have seen tons more fires from overheated brakes than the other two causes. I'm just going by probabilities.
The tow truck behind it was like an ambulance chaser. I think it was going to chew more than he can handle
@@maynardcarmer3148 Thanks for the explanation. I kept wondering what could do that kind of damage to a semi trailer, and all I could think of was...a train. This is better--still not cool, but better!

😊👍
Same clip twice. About 2:30 and 8:00. Waycross.
I really must have liked that one, lol. Good catch.
The tow truck behind that messed up trailer reminded me of an ambulance chaser. Why does the rail grinder have so many lights?
Wreckers don't chase ambulances, lawyers chase ambulances lol
The lawyer wants the patient and the tow truck wants the semi
Primo belle catture👍💪
That's all folks!
Got round to this one at last! And what's not to like? Nothing! All good! Locomotive No. 1982, Wacky Races at Roanoke and in slow motion at Burlington, that train with the lights at Fort Madison and the long freight that followed it, lightning at Galesburg and s/where else and er WHAT were those birds doing??? 😮
Were those Atlanta Falcons at the end? Just wondering..........
Wonder if the falcon called the next day?
🚂
Averting one's eyes, what!
Um, this is a family show, right?🤣
Is learning about nature not family oriented?
@@robchit1 Just making a joke…
Yes, but the birds are growing their family so the next generation of birds can enjoy VRF. 😂
Goodness. I didn't think a flat car could handle 140 tons (Two tank retrievers)
They were DODX flat cars - six axles each.
hello Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan & Friends Randy
What did that train hit at 4:44?
Amazing video!
16:05 Did he smoke a cigarette?
LOL, Tiparillo!
@16:16; were them kestrels in Fort Madison?
yes, they were, spur of the moment
11:33 Someone explain to me, what does this mean?
I'm guessing the question is about the rail machine which is creating the sparks? Geometry, is what it means. Railroad car and locomotive wheels have a tread part which rides on the railhead and a flange around the wheel which goes inside the railhead. All 3 components, the wheel tread, the wheel flange, and the transition between wheel tread and wheel flange are shaped to specific geometry. So is the top of the rail, the railhead. The least friction is generated when all those shapes, geometries, are correct. Machines like the one in that clip periodically grind worn railheads back to the proper geometry. Wheels can be either reshaped or junked and replaced. Eventually the rail will wear enough to need to be replaced.
(Help to describe)
LORAM is a maintenance right-of-way equipment service. Their jobs is to inspect any railroad tracks and needed to require maintain, repair, and replace with smooth steel of rails.
@@scottfw7169
True. (Point)👍
Smoothing out the rails, hence, the sparks.
@@scottfw7169 And each part of the grinder focuses on a different part of the railhead
I thought this was a friendly channel
The last clip of the birds 💀💀💀
Bro was doing things that are illegal on camera 💀
at 5:58 what kind of engine is 1051 ?
0:22 Shame on whoever graffitied that Monarch Butterfly boxcar
Almost every video lately I see military equipment on trains. It makes me wonder……. what’s going on? Is this a sign of what’s to come?
No. Military equipment is always on the move. To and from refurbishment. To and from heavy repair. To and from Fort Irwin for regular training. It's not a big deal. it's been common for many years.
Not bad
2:15 and 7:57 - same clip...
Yep, and no extra charge!
That Waycross PTZ is the most worthless camera. No one wants to see a roof!
