Go Town Go! It really is all up for grabs, and Town's performance over the past two years has been extraordinary. The club has a tiny fraction of the finances of the three Premier League 'parachute payment' teams around them. They've a much smaller squad, with less skilled players available. We all love an underdog, particularly one that used to be an overdog, and this team is that underdog. I grew up watching Ipswich Town with my Dad in the 1970s and had no idea how much they were rocking the world and punching above their weight. Their consistency was incredible, for a period of some ten years, and when they played the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd . . you expected them to win! And they did. Two of their managers ultimately managed the England squad. Their brief revisit to top flight glory in 2000-01 was incredibly exciting, off-the-bat from promotion to finishing an amazing fifth in the Premier League . . . with the top English scoring player in the league that season. I don't bleed Ipswich Town anymore, but I do follow them . . . and they're looking like a bag full of trouble for the ex-Premier League teams around them, fighting to rejoin that league through promotion in the Championship (Leicester, Leeds and Southampton - all of whom still enjoying Premier League money whilst the remainder of the EFL Championship fights to earn a living). Rock on Town, and God Bless the Championship!
Bro, Ipswich have more funds than both all 3 of these. They're the 2nd richest club in the league behind QPR. They have almost $11b. Get them to the prem to start spending!!!
Much love from Ipswich ❤ Great to see people researching our epic history, hopefully we can pull off promotion. Into second place now 3 points off leicester 😎
Not forgetting the two most successful England Managers managed Ipswich, Sir Alf and Sir Bobby and who knows what the future may hold for Kieran...................
As an ipswich supporter you saying Jamaican hutchinson, broadsten and conor chapmin made me laugh! Btw its omari hutchinson Nathan Broadhead amd conor chaplin
Ha ha - I thought the same - who are these people 😀
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed that 😂
So what? Grow up ffs.
@@Gremloid63 it made me laugh in a good way ffs
They also said we were in the 4th tier not long ago (our lowest league position since the 1950s was 14th or so in the 3rd tier) and we the UEFA cup in the 80s not the 70s.
Ipswich have won a European competition, they were amazing under Bobby Robson in the 70s and early 80s. Last time they were in the Permier league they finished 5th, then overspent on crap players and got relegated the following season and went into massive finincial trouble but only ended up in the 3rd division, never been in the 4th division. Twenty years in the wilderness but are back.
Ipswich CAN get promoted. We are on form now while the rest are wobbling. We have great American owners who allow our CEO and manager to actually do what they need to do .
We (Ipswich) have also provided our two best England managers. Leicester lost yesterday,Leeds drew and we won.🚜🚜🚜💙
You forgot the FA Cup they won in 1978 lads. Also Sir Alf Ramsey who took the club to success in 1962 then went on to win the world Cup as England manager in 1966.
We also had two future England managers one of whom won the World Cup and the other went to semis
Come on Ipswich !!! What a team what a history. Thanks for this guys 👍
Just a heads up...no longer tied for second place, and now only 3 points behind Leicester...we are coming for that top spot!
Lets completely dominate this league!
Surreal seeing Town talked about abroad. Love it!!
Some worthy knowledge there guys, respect on doing your research. We are the tractor boys! Its all down to the manager McKenna.
It’s 41 games unbeaten in Europe at home for Ipswich
No it's 31 as stated in the video.
Definitely not 31
It definitely is; it's literally written on the side of the Cobbold stand.
It's definitely 31 😂
Are you throwing the Texaco Cup into that stat? 🤣
Great content, thank you! Come on Ipswich!!!
about time you brought them up. they are incredible. its broadhead btw...
Ipswich winning the UEFA Cup was far more impressive than today's Europa League. Only the champions of each country played in the 'champions league' (European Cup) back then. All the other top teams played in the UEFA Cup.
Now second, 3 points off top…plenty of games and points to play for though. Trust me if you watch us you won’t normally be disappointed. We play great football and even when we don’t there seems to be that winning mentality instilled in the squad that gets us through (Rotherham game the other week being casing point). Anyway I stumbled across this, there’s a few comments correcting you about players names which are right, but honestly thank you for picking up on the current success of our great club 👍🏻
Broadstone is a super good soccer player for Ipswich Town.
Do you mean broadhead
@@TheSodaGirls who? Broadstone has been remarkable this year!
Ipswich haven't been in the 4th division for probably about 70 odd years I would guess and it was still almost 70 odd years that we were relegated to the 3rd tier before bouncing back.
On the all time second division standings, we were top for points, I don't know if that's still the case but historically Ipswich have always been pretty competitive in this league, it's just the last 10 years or so where they haven't had such a good time of it.
They're a far bigger club than the likes of Brentford or Bournemouth for example but haven't really got the breaks to go up.
They've been in 8 previous playoffs and won them once!
The key point is that the teams around them all got relegated last season from the premier league and got 60 million extra to spend in parachute payments.
Ipswich have never been in the fourth division!
It would have been Division Three South which I think technically is the same level, it isn't technically the same league?
@@benconnelly3224 no; that's the third division (the clue is in the name!). The premier league didn't exist then. So the first division was the equivalent of the premier league now.
Was born the year they won the league [1962] Was there when they won the FA Cup [1978] and in Amsterdam when they won the UEFA Cup [1981] Come on you blues !!
As a life long fan of Ipswich having grown up in the town, I was absolutely blown away that you knew we were unbeaten in European competition at our home ground (Portman Road). There's not many Ipswich fans that know this little footballing trivia gem, let alone non-supporters. You have my total respect for the depth of your research. Keep up the good work, sir.
It's not hard to know these facts when you can google this sort of stuff
Great video guys, from an Ipswich fan. 4 weeks after this video and we are top of the league, I predicted us to finish 12th before the season started so I am still in disbelief over what’s happening. Our current points total has guaranteed us the playoffs at a minimum
Plymouth walked norwich 6-2 we just swept em aside
Good to see a Northern Ireland shirt being worn
Broadstone? You mean broadhead right?
Top post guys ,I am a Ipswich (50 ) years and I’ve seen more downs than ups in that time.
Honestly I think we will just miss out on automatic ,and what worries me is the play offs have no respect for league positions.I recall us losing to West Ham over two legs in the play offs ,even though we finished nearly 20 points ahead of them.My dread is getting Norwich ( if they scrape in) in the play offs ,as they have had our number for years.
However I’m enjoying the ride at the moment ,and it’s the most entertaining I’ve seen us in years.Just need to tighten up at the back a bit and we will be a real hard nut to crack.
Broadston absolute baller en
😂😂😂
Come on Ipswich!
Good to see people talking about Ipswich. But please do better research - Broadhead not Broadstone. No, we weren't in the 4th tier. We were UEFA champions in the 80s .... Etc
Tonight we are still 2nd after beating Bristol. 78 points now. 10 games left. All to play for , although as we know it can all go wrong. Tough games to come, every game a cup final. Especially difficult games ….Southampton at Ipswich, Norwich local derby at Norwich, Hull away and Coventry away. But to make it interesting, Southampton have to play all 3 teams above them away from home 😂 Leeds have to Play Southampton, Leicester have to play Southampton. Also Leicester are still in the FA cup so have at least one extra game to play. So the next 10 games will have ups and downs for all 4 teams. 2 automatic places and 1 from the play offs. So somebody will be disappointed.
Gained my sub by talking about Ipswich
same 5 teams? we've seen some teams in the prem that are surprises over the last few years
We 100% deserve to go up. If we dont go up then it wouldnt be great because we have had a brilliant season.
Who's Broadstone? We have Broadhead
COYB 💙 up the tractor boys 🚜
It’s 22 years
Ipswich traditionally a much bigger club than Leicester and Southampton. European record is second to none.
Probably in modern years, Leicester would dispute that, now having actually won some things but Southampton haven't won a lot despite being fairly regular in the Prem in fairness? 🤷♂️
BLUE ARMY!
Blue army 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
Ipswich have the second most amount of touchdowns this season so far
Please don’t mix up the First Division and the Premier League
Before the Premier League formed in 1992, the top division was the First Division. Football did exist before the Premier League. And Ipswich did win the First Division which is same as PL.
@@seahawks1912 it’s not the Premier League though 😂
@@maximus8633nope but it was still the top division of the time 👍
@@benconnelly3224 did you not watch the video? Man claimed Ipswich won the Premier League.
@@seahawks1912 Just an fyi, because you’re from across the pond. I’m educating you on how it works here in the UK and Europe. Ask anyone that isn’t a yank, and they will tell you.
14 years 14 years Norwich city! 14 years 14 years I say! 14 years 14 years Norwich city, playing football the Norwich way 💛💛💚💚
Pride of anglia since 1902
Norwich fans and their selective history 😂
Video about our trophies and European pedigree and all you have is 14 years and a couple prem seasons and you beat Bayern once
Ipswich will lose to Norwich in the playoff final at Wembley research that 😂
Keep hope alive, pal.
You Research not gonna happen
And Narwich will win a major trophy one day.

Take it easy! They've done good research and they're talking in layman's terms. Can forgive a couple of minor things ❤
