Hooded Cowl Scarf Part 2- Scarf with a Wood- Red Heart Yarn Free Pattern Idea

    The second part of the knitted hooded cowl scarf made with the net stitch. Very easy to make and elegant to wear. Another great collaboration with Red Heart Yarn.
    /// INSTRUCTIONS:
    Hooded Cowl (Red Heart Unforgettable)
    using Net Stitch
    2 skeins of Unforgettable Red Heart Yarn (I used 1 and 1/3)
    I used number 9 US needles
    First Part (Cowl)
    Make provisional cast on and pick up 38 stitches
    Net Stitch: Multiple of 4+2
    k=knit
    k2tog=knit 2 stitches together
    yo=yarn over
    p1k=pass first stitch as if to knit. (without knitting it).
    Repeat from * to
    Row 1.- Knit the whole row (knit the first stitch only on this one row).
    Row 2.- p1k, *yo, k2tog, k1.
    Row 3.- p1k, knit the whole row.
    Row 4.- p1k, k2tog, yo, k1.
    Repeat these 4 rows until it measures 28 to 30 inches
    End with #4 row.
    Put the beginning with the end together, with the right sides facing
    each other. (toward the inside).
    Make a 3 needle bind off.
    Second Part (Head)
    Cast on loosely 38 stitches
    Knit the same as the cowl part (same stitch and same length).
    Bind off with 1 size larger needle.
    Sew beginning with one side of the cowl, starting at the seam.
    Sew end with the other side of the cowl, starting at the seam.
    Sew back of the head part, starting at the seam.
    Block if you wish.

    I like the technique of binding off with a larger needle. Depending on what I'm making, I use a larger needle to bind off because it keeps the finished project from looking too pinched together.

      Yes. And it gives it the with similar to the start.

    Hi joanna, it's nice to see a picture to the voice I have been hearing all this time. You are not at all how I imagined you to be looking like, pardon me for saying, I'd thought you'd be more older, which there is nothing wrong with that, but your much younger than I expected😱.       For the cowl only, 2/3 of 1. The 2 parts are the same .
