Playing a song isn't necessarily about duplicating how it's played, but putting your own interpretation of it. Everyone hears a song differently and picks out the bits that are important to them. Keep doing what you do.

Thanks a lot mate! Really appreciate that. Although I don't have a tab, like I explained in the vid, I just play it by ear, hence why the chords and notes are quite different to the original. I just play what seems to fit and sound nice. Although when I am desperately in need of a tab I trawl on Ultimate Guitar Tabs. Hope that helps.

What an amazing cover, my best friend and his girlfriend died in a car crash and thins song was played at their funeral it was his favourite song and I'll tell you what he would of fucking loved that . Thankyou :)

I dont know if this is a coincidence i just came from seeing a video of a girl doing an acoustic version of Sultans of Swings and in her own style ans she absolutely nailed it and now this. This is amazing man. Wow. Being different is everything while keeping the essence of the song. This did both. I love Mr Knopfler and i dont get impressed easily but this is amazing man. theres a really easy way to play this song somewhere ive seen it on youtube but it doesnt sound as good but im not skilled enough to play the real version yet however i love this song

You have a brilliant voice! Love this version. It's nice to hear a fresh new version of this classic. I've posted a quick, well not lesson as I'm no teacher, but a look into knopfler actual picking pattern and style for this song as no one actually teaches the correct way he plays it and no of the music books have tabbed it right. As I say though, this is a brilliant version and one I'd be cell proud to have come up with. Your voice is simply brilliant!!!

usually a cover is good when it is the same as the original this cover is good because it has your own style, because it is different from the original. you are a very well developed musician; developing your own style is a real sign of maturity as a musician. very good
