Thank you! I was the only one that had microspikes, and we heard from a hiker the morning of (who was turning around) that the 99 Switchbacks was covered in snow and ice. They decided it would be best to turn around, and I told them I’d keep them posted from my satellite communicator.
That was a lightning shelter that was built a long time ago. The only problem was it was built with a metal corrugated roof (that is still there), and several people died in that building in the 40’s when lightning struck. There are signs posted to stay out during a lightning storm, but in the 90’s another person was killed who hid inside the building during a lightning strike (and injured/paralyzed several others that also ran in).

What year was this video taken? I'm planning a trip around similar dates and trying to gage the level of snow depending on the water year type.
