Love the way your subtle changes to a photo take from bland to spectacular. I have been following you for awhile now and you have taught quite bit. Thank you 😊
I do like watching these videos and am learning lots. As someone who doesn't use Photoshop very much, it would be great to see more, including detailed instructions on how to switch between the two.
A really good video, Christian! As usual. I learned a lot from following you. Speaking of which, some time ago you had a time blending video. Is there any way you could do another one? What I'd like to learn is how to blend a long exposure with a sharp image. For example, if you want to smooth water but have a boat (or people walking along the shore) in sharp focus? I hope I'm not unreasonable. Thanks!
Hey, thanks for the comment and the suggestion! This is something I wanted to show for a long time now, unfortunately, I havent got a good photo to demonstrate how to do that. I will surely upload avideo about that in the future!
I wish Adobe would update the Color Balance adjustment layer of Photoshop to give it the power and flexibility of the Color Grading panel in Lightroom.
I am the reverse 99% PS, LR is just to bloated with catalogs and speed of import I just drag and drop in PS start editing in 3 seconds from a closed program, (18 core imac PS version 24.0.0 is the sweet spot) Raw has come along so far it has all the tools of LR if you know how to us it.
That's why I need to learn it. I get that it is way more powerful than LR. How do you manage your catalog of work? LR is great digital asset manager. Thanks
@@tonyferrell3456 I use External OWC Envoy Pro FX 10gb/s Drive with basic folders easily searchable in finder. I hate having any work on my main HD, The work I do is already paid for by client I give it to them, keep 10-15 images for future advertising, that's it keep it simple.
This was an excellent edit and explanation of the color balance tool in Photoshop. I noticed you have the TK panels in Photoshop. Do you ever use those? All the best and thank you.
TK panels is very good for dodging and burning much more advanced than the built in ones for speed and quality. Although the Updated Raw Editor can do much of the same "now".
Thank you for sharing the workflow using the colour balance tools Christian. Is there a way we can focus our colour balance adjustments to a portion of a photo? I tried using a mask in Camera Raw but didn't have the colour tools available, Did I miss something or are they just not there? Or is there a way within Photoshop to limit the area when using an adjustment layer? Thanks so much
Hey, thanks for the comment! There is a way to do that: Once you create the balance adjustment layer, it automatically has a layer mask attached to it. Using a black brush on its layer mask you can "erase" areas which you dont want to be changed by the balance layer! I hope this will help you with your question
Excellent like always. Thank you Christian

Thanks for the commment, there will be more Photoshop content in the future for sure! :-)
Amazing

Great…thank you.
Thank you for showing how things can be done in PS without having to use LR.

Excellent. I need to start using PS more. I rarely do now. I'm in LR 99% of the time.

Thank you so much! I'm in the same boat, using LR like 90% of the time, but Photoshop is just sooo much better for more precise adjustments
