I find this funny, and I like most of the comedians who are parodied. Satire can be affectionate and Horatian rather than just an attack on its targets.
The good old algorithm just showed me this and somehow I'd never seen it before. Even being 9 years old, it's still funny and mostly relevant. Harry and Paul are legendary.

You can only do this type of piss take when you get to a certain age and bank balance and you dont care about biting the hand that feeds you. Harry and Paul are getting better and funnier as they get older because they're not bothered about getting a series commissioned.
Now there's the tech to produce broadcast quality content easily, and not having to be reliant on production companies and tv broadcasters to get their content to the masses, they can do what ever they want...they can take more risks. It's great!

I love how they snuck in a dig at those retrospective documentrary style programmes with the interviews of supposedly important or knowledgable people on the subject. The way they cut from a clip of "Paul Somone" bringing it up up and then it immediately cuts to footage of the show, it just perfectly matches the editing style of those shows.
They did a whole special episode of parodying BBC2 on a bbc2 anniversary a number or years back. It was great. I looked it up the other day, but it wasn’t on iPlayer or RUclips anymore.

This sketch was genius and the impressions were spot on especially Whitehouse doing Paul Merton repeating the same joke. I have a feeling that one or two of the comedians parodied might have felt a bit like celebrities at The Golden Globes having the piss taken out of them by Ricky Gervais. Embarrassed 'I can take a joke' laughter but inwardly seething.

They did a whole special episode of parodying BBC2 on a bbc2 anniversary a number or years back. It was great. I looked it up the other day, but it wasn’t on iPlayer or RUclips anymore.
It’s scary how close this is to reality rather than satire. All the mannerisms are spot on.

Panel shows can be good, it's just that it's so easy to take the piss out of them.
@@Bhalforii I think the point is the shows have become devoid of genuine satire and repetitive rally cries - Oh my God the Daily Mail sort of sums up their schtick.
This sketch was genius and the impressions were spot on especially Whitehouse doing Paul Merton repeating the same joke. I have a feeling that one or two of the comedians parodied might have felt a bit like celebrities at The Golden Globes having the piss taken out of them by Ricky Gervais. Embarrassed 'I can take a joke' laughter but inwardly seething.
Lost it at Diddy Andy Parsons. Interesting bit, closer to the Fast Show than you'd see these days.
