- In today's video, the 5th and final of our Mississippi River Roadtrip series, Andrew, Robi, and James are headed to Natchez Mississippi, the oldest town on the Mississippi. WATCH THE SERIES - • Day Trips from New Orl... .
Unlike in our other videos in this series, the boys are actually going to visit this town as tourists. They have never been here before and will experience it for you as newbies themselves.
We first visit The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians and their burial mounds and community before stopping by the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Next, the boys stumble upon Forks of the Road Historical Site, one of the busiest slave ports in the area. Then, they visit a historic cemetery before heading into downtown Natchez and to Fort Rosalie.

These guys deserve a larger audience.
We are working on it. Thanks again for watching and for subscribing.
IF, they actually read a history book
Another great vid guys! Just wanted to add a little miscellaneous info-Natchez is the home town of both R&B singer Alexander O'Neal and Olu Dara, a jazz musician and father of the rapper Nas
Admittedly when I first started watching your videos I was only interested in New Orleans however now I am really enjoying exploring other areas of this fascinating state. You guy’s do a great job with your storytelling and humor!
My family is from Natchez & moved to Chicago before I was born. I always loved going down to Natchez & recently I’ve been finding out all of this incredible history of the town. Natchez has such a deep & rich history by native Americans, African slaves and the French. My whole life I thought it was just a small town but Natchez was very important once upon a time.
We hope our video was able to provide you with some of Natchez's incredible history.
Same! My grandma was born In Natchez her and my grandfather both moved to Chicago then to Michigan ❤️they are part Choctaw
I recently took a road trip from San Antonio, Texas up to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to visit family. After watching this video, I made a point to stop in Natchez on the way. I loved it so much I stayed the night there and stopped there again on the way back to Texas. It’s an amazing town, and I loved learning about it and it’s history from this video! You guys are awesome, please keep the videos coming!
That is awesome, Anna. This means the world to us all. We will keep the videos coming. Tell others about us, please!
Free Tours by Foot I absolutely will!
The Camp @ Natchez Under the Hill. So much good food!
I worked on a River boat that stopped here very often, never knew any of this. This is so informational! The shells… wow.

This whole series was excellent. I'm sharing it around as much as I can. Y'all are such gifted storytellers. I can't wait for whatever is next.
Thank you, Rob. We have a few day trip ideas we are mulling over, including towns more downriver, wetlands, Avery Island (the Tabasco Plantation and Museum) and a few other places.
You are all wonderful. This is real and not a tourist thing. Thank you. I going to watch more of videos.

Hope you do the Native American & Freed slaves history segment. Thanks for doing your wonderful videos.✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻💗💗💗💗
Yes my grandmother is Choctaw and freed slave mixed born in Natchez
@@candacewelbaum8125I am part Choctaw/ Cherokee Would love Andrew and Robi to do the complete history of this 😊🙏
I’m soooo far behind the times, but just watched the entire road trip playlist today. You three are brilliant tour guides - wish I could afford to tip you. Hell - wish I could afford to visit Louisiana! But thanks to you guys, I feel like I have. Much love, respect and gratitude from Tasmania, Australia. 🙏❤
Thanks again for watching our videos! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Hello Australia👋 way back in the 70s I had pen pals from Brisbane and Adelaide and a town called Macksville. I have been to Louisiana once 2 weeks after Katrina and the culture is so unique I'm so glad Andrew and Robi can take us on these trips! 🤗
Ya'll are a lot of fun and smart too. This has been a great series , learned a lot. THANKS
Thanks again for watching Debbie! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Y'all need to check out Lafayette and Cajun country and explain the differences between NO and Cajun. THAT would be COOL!
That's a good idea.
I truly appreciate y'all not sugar coating the fact that it was pretty much chaos and pretty much everyone was taking everyone else as slaves, and that people did fight to be free and to free others. That's just how it was. History is messy and complicated because people are messy and complicated, but we shouldn't hide from it. We should accept that there are no saints here, just people. I wouldn't say "get over it" because that would mean forgetting the price our ancestors paid for us to be where we are, and thus forgetting our duty to those who will come after us. We owe it to our ancestors to honor them and remember them and to live our lives in such a way that they would be proud of us.
Maybe that's a southern mindset or maybe a tribal mindset, I don't know, but that's the way I feel about it.
Thanks for watching! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please do share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.

already in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ghana, Mexico and Peru. 👍
hopefully, we'll see you in October
Every time I went out of Louisiana, I came back to America.
I would like to see you guys tour all along the Mississippi River
I'm really enjoying you Three Amigos! Thank you for the "road trip", I've learned so much.
Robi - To answer your question: Yes, yes we do. :)
Andrew - Any time you start a sentence with "We could do a whole presentation on..." I'm like, "Here comes another video idea!" I love the historical asides. Still excited for the Marie Laveau video.
James - Appreciate all you do in front of and behind the camera - including reminding Robi what rating the video should have. LOL!
😂😂 I wanna be y’all’s friend so much. That ending was a RIOT 🤣🤣
Thanks again for watching Sabrina! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
I've always wanted to explore Natchez and Vicksburg. This video was very helpful to me. At 27:59 that's a reference to the Pont des Arts in Paris, which is a bridge there people put padlocks onto.
Great road trip that my wife and I did many years ago. We stayed at Landsdowne in Natchez. Had hoped you'd cover some of the "City Plantation Homes" in Natchez. IIRC, the owners had their working plantation across the river and Landsdowne was their city home. I also remember that the home was the most complete with original furnishings in Natchez. The silver was stashed in the backyard cistern so the Northern troops wouldn't find and confiscate it. The couple there were real jewels. Will always love Natchez due to their hospitality
Hi Mark. Thanks for the comment. We might very well return to Natchez.
I got to visit the South only once but I was blown away by the kindness and hospitality of Louisiana Mississippi Alabama and Tennessee❤
We visited Natchez in May 2016 and found the Turning Angel grave marker in the Natchez cemetery. It’s the title of a John Grisham novel and it’s on the book’s dust cover
✔️✅📚 I will check that out I love to read and thanks to Andrew and Robi I want to study the South!📚✅✔️
I was born and raised in Natchez and as a kid, our parents would take us to the Indian mounds and Natchez Trace on a picnic. Mounds were taller and steeper than they are now-at least as kids, they looked taller to us..lol....glad you enjoyed your visit!
Thanks for sharing your happy childhood memory. We are glad that you enjoyed the video. If you haven't already done so, hopefully, you can check out our other virtual tours of New Orleans ruclips.net/p/PLpNEdLF6RWV3oDPK7SD9GOttlhvaGBsh2.There is more where this came from.
Excellent! Loved all the history along the way. Would like to see of small town life along the Mississippi. Thanks for letting us ride along.
If no one has mentioned it, my FAVE fiction author lives in Natchez!! Greg Iles!! His Pen Cage series are my favorite books! Would’ve loved to see his office/AirBnB on this tour! It’s a chalet style house on the river downtown (I’ve never been to Natchez, just love Greg Iles). I knew of Turning Angel, Ft. Rosalie, and Under the Hill from his books set there.
Also, please come do Mobile or my beloved hometown of Selma!!!
Mobile and Selma are definitely possible locations for future videos.
Great video guys! You did a great job exploring the town of Natchez. Next time you are in the area, you may find Rodney, Ms interesting. It is an old lost town on the Mississippi river with some beautiful landmarks still standing.
I love your videos! Please keep them coming. I'm thinking of visiting new Orleans in January 2023. From Sydney, Australia

This was so fun!! Thank y’all!!! A Cajun country road trip would be really cool, maybe even going up to north Louisiana and seeing how Louisiana culture shifts throughout the state

Here’s a little tip about all the Spanish moss that I’ve seen on the road trip, don’t get a little bit of it so you can take it home to Kentucky to show your family, It’s full of little bugs that infested my car on the way back! Lol, that was a professional car detail that I never planned on! Lol, live and learn. Oh, and by the way, Robi needs to wear more blue, that color looks so good on him! Stay safe guys and thanks for the tour.
Thanks for the tips, Todd.
Great tour..Thank you.

There a little road north of the Natchez Cemetery where the Turning Angel is, that takes you by the Devil's Punch Bowl, a cove where pirates used to hide to rob Keel Boats going north.. The road will take you to Pine Ridge Road, which goes to Anna's Bottom....worth a look see...
I absolutely enjoyed every single destination! You guys brought education, enlightenment, and humor. I really felt like I was on this trip and I would love to experience another tour/road trip with you guys again. As much as I love New Orleans, I'd love to know/ virtually experience more about Lafayette (Cajun cultute), Baton Rouge, and Shreveport. Thank you guys!
Our pleasure! More to come.

I particularly like the idea of trips to smaller towns that would not be on the radar of most people. We learn about more interesting places to visit, and the small towns get the added tourism.
We are hoping to set up a membership program to help fund these types of videos. Stay tuned.
A lot when on sad but we are here thur our peoples thank you lord
Fascinating explanations. European here; will visit Louisiana in November. Hope I can find tourguides like you.

"Each plantation had a theme." Let that sink in. Great information, thanks so much. Also, usually only slaves and the poor went to hospitals. As the wealthy and powerful, were cared for "at home".
Hey guys, thanks for the trip!

Loved this series. Live across the river in Vidalia. Natchez loves calling themselves The Little Easy, they would be quite proud of the comparison yall gave of them to New Orleans!
We love Natchez and have another trip planned this May. We would have loved more details on restaurants etc. thanks Snead Al.

If we make it that far, maybe. We are considering what is feasible. These trips are expensive :).
Hello everybody Andrew, Robi, and James are headed to Natchez Mississippi, the oldest town on the Mississippi. WATCH THE. You need to come to Natchez, Ms. for the ballon race in Oct. around 16-22

I did indeed love this for heart road trip. Here in Waco Texas we have a suspension bridge across the Brazos River that people also put padlocks on which is not good for the bridge and I know that here in Waco city services go out once you're cut them all off.
Thanks for watching, Jerri! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please do share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Cool place
Loved this five part journey. In fact, My husband and I have fallen in love with you two , and James so you three! . My hubby hales from Slidell, and following Katrina, work took us to Mississippi and we spent 13 years there. In the next six months or so we will be moving BACK to Mississippi. Shortly after we get back, on our first trip to NOLA, we will be looking y’all up, and booking a tour or 10, with you two.
I know y’all book tours individually, but can I book y’all together if we pay double?
I have learned so much, about subjects I thought I was knowledgeable about !
Looking forward to seeing you both before the new year.
So happy to have found y’all!!
Love,
Love,
