I'm from St. Francisville and have been pretty homesick living in Utah. I found this video and it completely fixed it! Hearing y'all talk about little town anecdotes like Alex the Macaw and the open tomb in the graveyard (which used to not have a door and we would dare people to climb down), made me so nostalgic and grateful that's where I grew up. I also appreciated how much y'all reflected on the minority populations throughout history like Julius Freehan and the Old Benevolent Society. We should all work together to help the community tell these stories with more frequency and honesty! It's such a unique place that you don't realize when you are young. When the cabildo was abandoned we used to play house in there and never knew what it was used for. Now I work in politics and am obsessed with history, and I'm only just now realizing it's because my childhood was filled with soooo much history!

Born and raised in Louisiana and always looking to see things new about my state. I’ve been to the Myrtles but now I see there is lots more to see in St. Francisville. Really enjoyed your walking tour!!👍🏼👏🏼
I believe Martha Turnbull’s grave was so small was because of their severely diminished wealth comparatively and he died right at the beginning of the war. She kept that plantation when most lost and with the help of her daughters and Martha’s horticulture skills sold vegetables, fruits etc and even 5 cent tours of the house. What resourcefulness! I would say that was the reason for such a humble grave when years before they were one of the wealthiest people in the country, certainly the south. I researched Rosedown extensively and lived in st Francisville and though I’ve not lived there for years I have a bond and will always miss it. The most beautiful place in Louisiana. Thanks for the video. I'm on the eastern edge of the Florida Parishes and this inspires me to take a long weekend in St Francisville, which I've never done. I have a real interest in Japanese gardens and never knew there was one so close. I hope we get to see the waterfalls on the way to Natchez.
Thanks for watching and subscribing, Rob! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please do share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
My girlfriend and I stayed overnight in the Judge Woodruff suite at Myrtles in early June '21. Sadly we did not see your awesome RUclips tour of St. Francisville so that we could visit the wonderful Hemingbough public garden (2:50). Gives us a reason to visit again soon. Hopefully Chloe will let my girlfriend see her this time. In my case, all I heard was a woman's laughter right behind me while I was alone in the suite and all the windows and doors were closed...
Such a great and detailed video! You guys share such great and important I for Action! I guess you both know Brandon Branch, who used to work for Paula Deen. His inn is so beautiful!

Thank you for the wonderful tour. I wish ya’ll would have shown The Bluff’s Golf Course. I haven’t been in years but when I used to frequent the course, wildlife was abundant and numerous times I have had deer and turkeys walk out on the fairway while I was playing golf there. The Bluff’s has some of the most beautiful wildlife scenery of all the golf courses in the south. Thompson Creek is gorgeous to look at as well with the steep drop offs overlooking the creek, you can see for miles. It is so beautiful and peaceful there. Thank you, ya’ll do a great job and are always so knowledgeable and informing.
Thanks for watching, subscribing, and commenting. We appreciate it all. Sorry we didn't include the course. We may end up here again in the future and will put it down for consideration.

Another great one, guys! I did not see that whole "tree growing inside of another tree" thing coming. So rad. St. Francisville certainly has a ton going for it for such a small town. Not the least of which is that it produced you three cool fellas!

I wish Bobby would speak more: I can see on his face that he literally “feels” the space and empathizes with the surroundings. I am amazed by this walk, very beautiful. You guys made me want to visit! Such a special and symbolic place so full of magic : full of hints and glances into the past, yet so meaningful today... historical Ramifications in the present are so fresh to me! I can tell Bobby, bless him, he has a beautiful deep loving soul. Love you guys
I think they were thinking of Miss Jane Pittman, but the Prime of Miss Jane Brodie was Maggie Smith in Scotland, nonetheless, this is an excellent video of St. Francisville and I live north of here and now I want to be more mindful of my surroundings. All of these guys, videographer included, are great! Thanks for this!

Just found this on Facebook and watched with my wife, video was great! However the conversation went on for an hour as I attempted to explain to her the amazing game of Doors Andrew created and how much fun I had playing so that took a turn and a while 😳😂.
Adaaaaaam! Such a cool surprise to see this, and man, that's a memory . . . very good times. Gotta dig up those old games and see if any of them are still readable. Really welcome surprise seeing your name and hope you and your fam are doing well.

I'd always thought of St. Francisville as only the pretty little town where The Myrtles is located. Y'all showed me that it's so much more! Will definitely have to take a trip up I-10 to visit once I return to S. Louisiana. Love the tours with all 3 of you!

Oh my gosh...I had goosebumps, as I remember the days of "hanging in" St. Francisville. Waiting in anticipation for this tour! I reached out to the people I know there, (hadn't seen in years)...I have a need to make connections with the people who have been a part of my life from there! Thanks guys❣
I had the pleasure and honor of visiting St Francisville while on a cruise on the American Queen Steamboat. I wish I could of seen this video before that trip. I learned so much from you guys. You could make a 5 video tour of just this town! Where were all the people? It looked like a ghost town. We can find ruins, small towns, and interesting history in each and every state and county/parrish/borough across the country. Finding out about them is the problem. Keep up the good work! I will be in New Orleans in March 2022. I will check your tours out thanks to these videos.
Carol Sutton made her film debut in "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman" (1974, dir. John Korty), based on the novel by Ernest J. Gaines. She did not appear in "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' (1969, dir. Ronald Neame), based on the novel by Muriel Spark. Ms. Sutton died in 2020, and is interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery in New Orleans.
I KNEW I've seen you somewhere before Robi. I've just saw that Ghost Adventures episode, maybe 3 weeks ago. This week youtube suggested this channel to me, and I couldn's shake the feeling that I knew you from somewhere.
Hey guys! I recently discovered your channel and have become a huge fan. I am going back and watching al the videos. I am sure that someone has pointed this out but The Prime of Miss Jean Brody is a film with Maggy Smith. (She won the oscar from that role). Carol Sutton was in The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman. An equally fantastic movie but very different. LOL Keep up the great work!
I love all three of you and your memories about your home town. I am old enough to remember North and South, both parts, and I am also pretty sure I have seen Robie in drag at the Myrtles. Oh my goodness. I loved all the detail you shared about this amazing place! Must have been hard to get the filming done with all your friends coming out of their houses to say hey! :) xoxo

I took your challenge and looked it up, you're right. I found this on the Forbes website, "...If you’re feeling petulant, it’s the Czech Republic. If you want to be cool, it’s Czechia (pronounced Che-ki-ya)." The website went on to talk about short-form country names and long-form names, i.e. France vs. the Republic of France. You taught me something new, thanks.

St Francisville is my next day trip from NOLA...BUT I had a laugh when Andrew mixed up The Autobiography Of Jane Pittman with The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie...
Thank you in so happy when I watch you guys, I love it 😇🐾🌻🌲oh oh oh also you guys have to was John Amos on" the haunting of", he is such sweet man, anyways, he filmed at hotel near sugar cane fields, I couldn't believe what they uncovered it was so interesting
Beautiful town. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, Rebecca! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please do share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Heading here to see my folks next month
Enjoy the trip to your folks.
Have fun! As for the waterfalls, we don't visit them on the way to Natchez but they are a potential video in their own right.
St Francisville is definitely on my bucket list now. Thanks for the fascinating tour!
Glad to hear we have given you a reason to revisit. Thanks for watching and sharing your comment, Rommel.
Such a great and detailed video! You guys share such great and important I for

@@FreeToursbyFootHQ I have been watching a bunch of them. You guys are the BEST!!! You really know your stuff!
Thanks for the trip guys. Took me way back. Miss you all.
@@FreeToursbyFootHQ Thank you.
I love this and am glad I found you two.
We're happy you found your way here too!
I spent many happy times in St. Francisville growing up! Love the tour!
epic really enjoying the series , so cool.
What a great town, totally captured my imagination and great to learn more about where you all are from.
I just discovered your channel. This is one of the best, most informative (loved learning the history), travel/tourism videos I've seen on RUclips. I am now going to check out the rest of your videos. I hope you all will be able to do more videos on many other areas!

You guys are amazing. This is wonderful and interesting. Thank you ✨
Our pleasure!
Another great one, guys! I did not see that whole "tree growing inside of another tree" thing coming. So rad. St. Francisville certainly has a ton going for it for such a small town. Not the least of which is that it produced you three cool fellas!
Thanks for watching and for subscribing, Rachael!

Always good to see you guys ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks again for watching Mark!

That church graveyard was hauntingly beautiful!!
Kinda low key sad you guys didn’t stop at the Myrtles. I saw Robi in that ghost adventures episode. Great job!
I don't think we were able to get permission to film there.
Used to always take that ferry from new roads

Robi seems like such a cool dude . Next time I'm in New Orleans I'm definitely looking up free tours by foot & stopping by the shop!
You should! Do you have 2 accounts or am I seeing things?
@@FreeToursbyFootHQ i should only have 1 RUclips account lol. Not sure what you mean , did my comment post twice or something?

I’ve done this road trip when I worked in Jackson! La has so much to offer!
I'd always thought of St. Francisville as only the pretty little town where The Myrtles is located. Y'all showed me that it's so much more! Will definitely have to take a trip up I-10 to visit once I return to S. Louisiana. Love the tours with all 3 of you!
Man that is amazing I was born in Baton Rouge lived in Port Allen then moved to New Orleans. Never once been up that way just great sites and history. Great Share
Are you going to visit St. Francisville now, Stacey?

Great job, guys! Good seeing y’all again!
Wow. We are happy to have triggered this.
I'm just enjoying you both
I had the pleasure and honor of visiting St Francisville while on a cruise on the American Queen Steamboat.
We will be filming more of these types of videos moving forward, so stay tuned, Jacquelyn. And we look forward to having you on tour in New Orleans.
That area also has some great offroading locations that attract Jeep and 4X4 owners. One of them being the sheriff's property behind his home.
Thanks for letting us know, David.
I wonder if both of you have Italian ancestors you both talk with your hands and that's definitely an Italian thing😂❤
Carol Sutton made her film debut in "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman" (1974, dir.
John Korty), based on the novel by Ernest J. Gaines. She did not appear in "The Prime of
Miss Jean Brodie' (1969, dir. Ronald Neame), based on the novel by Muriel Spark.
Ms. Sutton died in 2020, and is interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery in New Orleans.
Great Tour as always. You three are the best. Be Well. Your #1 fan from Oregon.
Thanks! You too!
I KNEW I've seen you somewhere before Robi.
I've just saw that Ghost Adventures episode, maybe 3 weeks ago.
This week youtube suggested this channel to me, and I couldn's shake the feeling that I knew you from somewhere.
Nailed it.
LOL
Keep up the great work!

You are welcome.
We made it, would love to meet you both, any recommendations to eat?😊
