This is a really nice video and shot very well at that. It really captures the moment in a busy little goods yard to it's fullest effect and a grand day for it at that. @fishplate7 yuor videos are always a treat. Keep up the great work. THUMBS UP!
A very interesting video...thank you for posting it. It so happened that I (with friends from Westport and Buncrana in Donegal had lunch very close to the station around about the time of your video being made. I've not been back since the DMUs took over the passenger service to Manulla, but I hope the branch is still busy. Keep up the good work...it's appreciated on this side of the Irish Sea (I live in Bournemouth, Dorset). Rob.
Many thanks for your kind words Rob. The introduction of the ICR'S has almost killed the railways here! A bit of freight is all that interests me today! Hope you enjoy the rest of my videos and there is more to come!
I’ve just come across this great footage, thank you for sharing it. I wonder did you manage to capture anything on the Burma Road before the final closure? Lovely to see Ballina in the sunshine as well!
Hi John. Many thanks for your kind comments. Unfortunately no, I have no footage of the Burmah Road at any stage. Are you a member of the Irish Railway Record Society by any chance? They have an excellent video and photographic archive, which should address your query! Regards. Eamonn
@@fishplate7 thank you Eamonn. I am a member, and funnily enough the Dublin meeting this coming Thursday (accessible via Zoom, thank goodness!) apparently will include some footage of goods traffic, so presumably from the early 1970s. I live in London, so this new world of accessing IRRS meetings remotely is wonderful. If only we all had GoPros or equivalent, back in the day! Once again, thank you, for the foresight of taking the camcorder with you. Very best wishes John

Enjoyed that very much. A lot of activity and some vintage motive power.
Both yanks on separate pairs plus 112 - now that's what ya call good! Thanks for posting.
Nice view.
Nice weather for North Mayo
Great Footage!

Looks wholesome this mixture of goods traffic. As it should be at any railway station.
Lovely getting 124+134 Eamonn!
Weres ballina
Ballina is a town over in County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland.
