Sounds gorgeous. However I’ve had too many devices over the years that depended on app connectivity and then a few years down the road manufacturers decide to no longer update the app. At that point it’s just a matter of time until the app breaks and you lose that functionality. It will inevitably happen and that’s why reliance on apps for important functionality is a deal breaker for me.
i love that slow zoom out you did with the pedal to the right of the frame. really cool brought me back to a 70's film. yeah
Had been mulling over what poly synth to buy for the past few months and your videos on the Take 5 sold me on it. I've had it a day and a half and can't stop playing it. Now you've got me sold on this Del-Verb, damn it! You just HAD to demo it with my new synth. Gotta let the heat on my wallet cool down first lol. Great stuff, man. Really glad I stumbled on your channel.
vibey af - great licks and patches for the demo. never heard the Take 5 sound so good 😂
Outstanding Del-Verb run-through ..... and so helpful for new Del-Verb User ..... purchased specifically for Prophet 5 and Deepmind 12. Will be returning to saved copy often for convenient access to fav'd Settings, and Android - UAFX Presets.
Rad job Jorb ✌🏻 Many THX _ looking forward to possible ASTRA review done in very similar fashion ( from Take 5 ). 🙏🏻
Love you Sir. Thank you.
Awesome

Awesome demo

Great presentation as per usual
I appreciate that, cheers
I just saw the Del-Verb on Emily's channel, this thing absolutely nuts. It's good to see you do a full video on it :3
Bless Emily. It's super good, happy to have had the chance
@@JorbLovesGear colab when?
@@AFNacapella i am in the emmas video 😅😅
@@JorbLovesGear . . .
For synths n, the uad Korg SDD 3000 delay is a beauty also , great reveiw ;)
I bought the UA compressor. I love it it’s excellent. I have no intentions on ever updating it or hooking it up to USB. Thank you jorb for recommending it.
Your channel has become a mainstay in my roulation. Nice to see you having some succes. Stick with it!
I think you sold me on this for my Take 5. I dismissed this pedal because of lack of controls on the reverb, but what’s there sounds great and pairs really well with the T5. Very old school sounding.
Killer Demo, great examples and explanations 🙏
Thanks Jack! I think it's a winner
ahh I'm torn as well. These sound so good, but I'm really trying to stick to pedals that have midi. That said, these UAD pedals are super cool. Sounds great with the Take 5 - thanks for sharing!
I suggested this in these comments before, but I’m going to again - also as a response to many of the other comments:
Source Audio Collider
It’s very similar as it’s two high quality pedals, reverb and delay, smushed together into one pedal. Very hifi effects!
With the big difference that it has full midi control over everything (not just clock,) it has a standard, more accessible mode, and an unlocked fully flexible mode. Unlocked you can alter the audio path and make it 2 delays or 2 reverbs (and probably a few more things I’m forgetting)
I *need* midi exactly for the reason of being hands off when I play guitar! And I’m personally not big on apps for my gear. (Especially when they don’t give you any control!)
I quite like how this sounds and I also really like the design. But no controls on the reverb whatsoever… I just don’t understand. Very odd choices that make it look quite unpractical to me, both for guitar and synth use
Wow that sounds so good😌🔥
it really does
I like the tape delay sound so much I'd be willing to consider everything the pedal does as just a bonus.
Well said, I could see that for any of the models. Or someone who was ready to commit to the starlight, suddenly here's most of the features plus reverb.
If the more restricted controls on this are a problem, the Golden Reverberator paired with the Flamma FS03 sounds really really good. It's tape delay might not be quite as good, but it's modulated delay BBD delay and it's delay plus phaser / chorus, and precision-type delay are great. And you get more reverb models, configurability from the Golden Reverberator. Either way, great sounds. Hard to get great stereo reverb that's not expensive (cheapest very good reverbs are probably GFI Skylar, Boss RV-6, EHX Oceans 12), but you don't have to spend that much to get a really nice delay pedal. Two pedals takes up more space though ... but I think the Golden Reverberator is worth it. I think you kind of do want a reverb decay knob on the front panel.
Hello Jorbs hair , looking good
Delay wise, a cheap (ish) alternative is the Ibanez DE7, sounds SO good on echo mode. But yeah, its ugly as sin! I bought a cheap Digitech iStomp too, which has really good reverb and about 40+ different models you swap with your iPhone/iPad.
Saw your post on instagram, then i got direct emails for this item. it must have just dropped, good timing my dude! Honestly really liking this pedal, i'm starting to build my "effects" section, which so far I have a 404 SX and a looper pedal.
this thing is rad
I swear it says Deli Verb. I just can’t unsee it and now I need a sandwich
pastrami please
😂
100% rye to 100% wet with mayo
Seeing that Take 5 out gives me hope that a firmware 2.0 demo is inbound ;)
I might be done doing dedicated update videos, tbh, but it's definitely something i want to talk about!
Also I'd love to see a demo of synths going through UAD amp emulation pedals. I'm super curious if that would get us somewhere. This one is clearly a anyways.
I am often running synths through amps and amp sims. I personally would go with the ruby for it’s diverse palette although the bassmaster? 65? Probably nice for more clean tones. I use a vox amp and mostly neuralDsp plugins
Ive run synths through my strymon iridium before and wasn't a huge fan. Even tho I love iridium for guitar. It just didn't really do anything for me that I couldn't do with eq. And it sucked out some of the frequency band in a way I didn't like
I got my UAFX Del-Verb before I realized that you needed an app to do all those things! I don't have a smart phone and they don't support Windows! Now I need to go out and buy a cheap tablet, just too get those functions. 🤔
I have the Starlight and Golden pedals, I like the sound on them but I would prefer more different or better control and less algorithms
I like this one. Maybe it’s presentation “fault” :)
The app for the golden is disappointing. I similarly would like it to provide additional sliders for parameters they tweaked in their “custom” presets that are totally hidden. Thanks for sharing the app view on this one!
The pedal controls on the Golden itself are nice, though.
C mon uafx, where is my plexi pedal? Nice plugins in a box you gave us.
Pretty nice they put 2 $400 pedals into 1 $350 pedal. I'm sure folks that bought the others are TOd. I do wish it wasn't so ugly, the Galaxy looks awesome visually and sounds good too. Wonder how it compares to the large format Boss SE. I see it just went on sale.
Was wondering which of the new UA's you'd be interested in. I dig the Del-Verb for my self. Though, I'd be interested to hear how the Galaxy '74 fares against the Space Echo.
I've done *just* tape delay too many times, so decided to focus on the delverb as it feels like the best value. but I bet it comes really really close.
@@JorbLovesGear Fair enough. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing, I suppose. Lol
Such a shame none of these UAD pedals have MIDI control or even expression input. I’d buy this today if it at least let me plug two expression pedals for mix.
Man your videos are dangerous. I'm having stronges GAS ever😂
LOL tread lightly
Am I correct that it doesn't let you change the signal flow/routing of the delay and reverb? The pedal sounds awesome, but that seems like a crucial feature.
great point, always delay into verb.
Ive had my eyes on the Zen Delay but I may now be going a different direction. I think it's a good competitor. What do you all think?
The Zen Delay is a beast. And importantly for me, it has midi sync, so it can produce amazingly tight results, which I love. It’s almost a looper. And, the filter is lush!
That being said, the mixed output produces a slight phasing effect because they didn’t account for the latency between the dry analogue signal and the wet digitally delayed signal (if that makes sense). It’s not a massive issue, for me, but it’s there … And of course it doesn’t have reverb.
Wayy diff pedals..
Hey Jorb! New viewer but big fan, would you ever do a video on synth minimalism? I'm trying to find the least amount of synths (digital, VST's, analog, 500 series) that net the most amount of sounds and would love your take
Hmm to me, the minimum is what inspires you. If you're still inspired, keep going 🤷 different for everyone you know
Btw I just picked up an HX One and the onboard stereo “dynamic” reverbs are amazing. I’ve heard the same about their delays though I’m no connoisseur. If you have a chance would love to hear your thoughts since it’s a versatile pedal and HX stuff can be underrated.
Jorb played "the floor is lava" for 20:49.
@ 6:04 - who wants an icecream?
actually me
Nice review Jorb, quick question: Can you set the tempo parameters on the app? Or is it strictly tap tempo only?
Just tap tempo i believe, good question. I WOULD LOVE MIDI
Ever consider reviewing the starlight?
Suh dude
Would you get the take 5 or the hydrasynth
Me, take 5
Do the preset options save or do I have to access it from my phone each time I want to use any of the other non-default settings?
The alternate modes do stay on the pedal
@@JorbLovesGear good to hear. Well that settles it then. Gonna be picking this one up, thank you!
UAD plug-ins that I already own ported to a nice looking pedal. I see the value proposition for someone not owning the plug-ins. But it’s a hard pass for me unfortunately.
The UA link doesn't work
EDIT: you meant the link in the description! thanks, just fixed it
Love the sound ❤ but really not into the _pseudo-retro-cutesy_ look UAD is going for with these pedals.
Thank you for the video!
I like it tbh, it works as a unique silhouette & the different paint colors on the original run highlighting the recessed bits is a super nice touch.
I love the pseudo-retro-cutsey look ❤
Those knobs are made of choclate?
Yes
Sounds good! But don't be too shy to play some white keys
Man... This is so disappointing, as an owner of the original UAFX pedals. Why did they put USB ports on them if they won't support them by adding more to them?
I’ve never noticed before how much you look like Greta Thunberg.
O_O
These UAFX Peddles have got nothing on STRYMON 😢
First
should i start commenting this prerelease so im always first
@@JorbLovesGear yes!
First to say buburub, probably not ever though 😔
The midi is super disappointing. They almost had me. I just really like things I can sync the clock.
For the love of god buy a windscreen.
there is no difference

Man, when did you become a salesman? You just sell your services to whatever company that sends free gear?
I send back stuff I don't like, and I don't withhold criticism on any sponsored videos.
If you think I'm being dishonest, say that, but I'm not ashamed that companies are helping me do more of what I enjoy.
@@JorbLovesGear Once you accept "free gear", they kind of own you, don't they? I mean, they might not be paying you directly with money but with gear so there is a tacit contract between you, and if you start giving negative feedback then they and other companies won't send anything else to you and better send it to a more friendly and forgiving RUclipsr. This will inevitably have an effect in your reviews. This is a business model where everyone wins, except the consumer. I don't blame you, you must have bills to pay like everyone else, it's just sad that these companies end up doing this with every single RUclipsr as soon as they get some followers and they all end up pushing products and reduced to simple salesmen with no credibility, claiming these companies "have no say" in the content or opinions expressed in the review. I just wish you guys would be more honest and openly accept that in some way you do work for these companies and there are no "unbiased reviews" in reality. You just push the latest products they send you.
Good luck to you man.
Just enjoy the videos, stop getting het up over dumb shit, every RUclipsr has sponsors, and perfect circuit is cool. Also, what synth nerd would deny free gear??? Especially when we can hear and see in the video that it sounds good as hell. Damn.
@@ZenMountain those are very aggressive accusations that seem pretty unwarranted dude making free content for all of us and showing up a practical demo of gear we could want to know how it sounds that’s a pretty normal and useful thing.
Keyboard warriors love to slam creators but don’t see them working hard to create anything themselves just drama no thanks I appreciate the vid
@@VitaEx "Very aggressive accusations"?? Hahaha lol! You obviously do not know what aggression is.
Are you a millennial?? Are you offended already?
Am I forcing you to not watch the video? Do whatever you want man, I watch it and enjoy it too.
Read again, because you're missing the point. And stop taking every form of criticism as a personal attack. Grow up.
Mr Jorb if you had to pick a pedal for lo fi music like "Computer Data - Verlust", which would it be? Im always looking at compressors but what other effects pedals should I check out?
I know zero about pedals. Thats why I honestly love your channel because there seems to be a pretty huge gap in youtube content for SYNTH + PEDAL content.
For flat out "Lo-fi" pedals, I've covered the gen loss and ribbons pretty recently.
