Guys, do you have any explanation why do people in Asia swim in clothes? It's not only Malaysia because in all Asian countries I've been to people swim in clothes. Maybe it's due to morals, tradition and also the religion? Or all together? And maybe to protect themself from the sun? It's not only because of Islam I guess, because as I said in many Asian countries people swim in clothes.

It's modesty and people actually afraid to be tanned as tanned/dark = slave, an old tale as time stigma from the time of SEA kingdoms with harsh rules adopted from hinduism caste system (varna) of India. that's why skin products and plastic surgery are on high demands to make oneself pale as the moon to be the point it become the "beauty standards".

Nice beach is in Terengganu and Kelantan, or Pahang. The beaches has white sand and blue/greenish waters. Since it's almost the end of the year, it'll be cloudy and depressing grey. Just be alert on the flags at the beach patrol towers. if it's red, you can't swim.

1)The bread ice cream!! You missed it.
2)You're swimming at the Strait of Malacca so it's much safer to swim further into the sea compared to east coast beach of Malaysia. The water waves and current are much stronger.

About the symbols on the sign 18:39, the last one is about "forbidden to do inappropriate public intimacy". A little is ok (hug - for those who already married) but don't do the inappropriate one such as sex, kissing (hollywood one😂) and "clothless body display". Google translate sometime does quite a "😅good job" when translate malay language.

Pretty sure in a tourist zone I could swim without a T-shirt like Langkawi maybe, but when I was the only foreigner I didn’t know if it was appropriate and I even was shy to ask hehe. - for the muslim women, it's due to religious rules
    - but for non-muslim and all males, it's about modesty.
We are a culture (Middle East, South Asia/Indus, South East Asia and Far East) that do not view being semi-naked in public as something respectable.
