Koh Samui is my favorite Island for sure in Thailand, What I love about Samui are the cool ocean waters unlike the very warm coastal mainland waters of Thailand. How safe is Thailand? I went to Koh Phangan for a visit, rented a motorbike. I was out all day. Then stopped to eat. I was horrified, my wallet was gone. No money, No credit cards. Lost on the highway somewhere. Went straight to the police station to report the lose, then my phone rang. Someone found my wallet on the road. Phoned my home in the USA, got my Thailand number. Meet up. Not a dime was missing. I bought them and their family dinner. Trip was saved. Great video Paddy.
When I was in Thailand I went to a restaurant. We sat at a table and a better one became avalible so we were moved over. Had food and drinks then went to pay, no wallet. Panic set in when one of the waiters came over with the wallet, nothing missing. So lucky and grateful. :) A very good tip for a great person and place!
Agreed! Paddy's are simply the best videos out there on Thailand. We are big fans. Trying to put a 25 day itinary together, but I find it difficult to get a sense of distance and direction, in what order it makes sense to go to maximize our time, between islands and mainland....
I am Thai ,I think no.1 is Similan 2.PP 3.Phuket .Good visibility under water must book your sea-trip 4-5 days before every full-moon and after every full moon 4-5 days as that's day strong current take the bottom sand to the surface then bad visibility.
I'm Thai. All Thai people welcome tourists of all nationalities and religions, no matter who you are, where you come from, if you come to travel with quality, respect Thai people, respect Thailand. Thai people will help each other to maintain the good trust of tourists. Help each other to provide good service to tourists in a friendly manner. Smile, cheerful, peaceful, safe, clean, equal for all classes. Thailand also has many interesting places to explore. Suitable for tourists of all levels of your hopes. We can definitely welcome everyone with the best willingness for sure. But we can definitely welcome everyone with the best thi-survice. Thank you for visiting Thailand.
Thanks for all the great videos! Considering spending time in Thailand and you had a bunch of interesting, cool, relevant videos, especially on housing.
I'm *SO* glad I happened upon your channel! I fly to Thailand for the first time in January and there is tons of useful info in your videos that I'm using to make a rough itinerary with, thankyou so much! It will be my first time travelling solo and I'm a little nervous but watching your videos is making me feel really excited! :)
Planning my first trip to Thailand this winter and I’m finding your videos to be SO helpful! Thanks for making them to include so many different aspects of travel so they inform so thoroughly. 😊
These are great Paddy! You should sell these to the Tourism Authority of Thailand... As always, amazing footage, and fantastic narration. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the videos in this series!
Hey not sure If you're going to read this love your videos and I found it really helpful, just 1 thing it would be amazing if at the beginning you flash the location on a map in future videos.
Koh Samui, here we come! Thank you Paddy for the informative video. My hubby is Chinese Thai but he sees himself Thai so we go to Thailand almost every year to visit my in law who moved back to Thailand. We have never been to any place but Bangkok and Chiangmai. I subscribed to your channel and binge watch your videos to plan our next trip in Thailand since it’s opening. Thank you for not sugarcoat in your videos but honesty.

Thank you I’m planning ten days in Thailand and a week in Singapore we’re leaving November 9th!! Your video was awesome I can’t wait to watch more! 🙏 😊
Unbelievable that vlog was awesome and yet again you have opened my eyes to so much beauty. Koh Samui is hands down my favorite. I lived there for over 3 months and i had an amazing time and i cant wait to return . Looking forward to the next vlog . Great Job Paddy ,
Been fortunate enough to have visited most islands mentioned. Glad you mentioned Koh Mook...probably my favourite. Combine it with a short stay at Koh Kradan and Koh Ngai a short speedboat trip away...you won't regret it 😎
Hiya Paddy, Koh Samui is my fav for sure. Nice to have the mountains and the beaches. Great video. Loving these travel guides. So informative put into sections. Thank you for sharing. Have a great Friday and weekend.
Hey Paddy! I love your videos and I’m planning on visiting Thailand next year. Could you do a video of best boat tours, activities you recommend to do and how did you book them online or in person? Thanks again!
I never been in Thailand. Just by watching all these youtubers, so far right now my choice is Koh Phangan. One day I'll will go to Thailand and then my choice may change. I love so much the beaches the sea waters & rivers... most clear waters for sure of course... TY again Mr Doyle, I enjoy very much this video,
Great list, but it is unfortunate that Koh Similan was closed when you went out there. When I went to Thailand, the islands of Koh Similan and Koh Surin in the Andaman Sea were absolutely paradise on earth. A few of the best days of my life was when I was there.
yes Koh Similan is great but thers no hotel on the small island its just a daytrip at least when i was there.he is talking about island that you can stay on for some days
Great choices Paddy. Having been to Thailand 4 times, the islands I have been to are Koh Lipe twice (the first time was a day trip from Langkawi in Malaysia), Phuket, Railey (although this is really a peninsula), Koh Muk once, Koh Phi Phi on day trips and 3 nights too, Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Yao Noi, Koh Lanta, Koh Kradan, Koh Hong and Koh Ngai. I'll be honest that I'm not a fan of Phuket although Similan Island is nice though but I love Krabi. My favourite Thai Islands are Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lipe, Koh Samui, Railey and Koh Tao I want to do one more visit to Thailand and go to Chiang Mai as well as Koh Chang and Koh Kood
Hi brother, im going to Thailand in 6 months I’m 52 years old and i love music, good food, relax, boat rides I’ll be there for 10 days could you please tell me where would you go for this trips? would love to visit at least 3 islands. Thanks
@@sergiomeza7525 Hi Sergio. I would start with 2 days in Bangkok for food, music, tour sites, culture etc, then 3 nights in Koh Samui (can do a day trip to Koh Tao from there) then you can either spend the 5 nights in either Phuket or Krabi (Ao Nang). Phuket has a lot of beaches, can do island trips such as Phi Phi Island and Similan Island for snorkelling as well as entertainment and shopping, and visiting tour sites like Big Buddha, Wat Chalong, Karon Viewpoint and Promthep Cape. Krabi or Ao Nang is more quieter and more relaxing but can do boat trips to Hong Islands, Phi Phi Islands, Railey, and 4-Islands tours as well as kayaking in the swamps, rockclimbing in Railey, climbing 1237 steps to the summit of Tiger Cave Temple and also visiting the Hot Springs and Emerald Pool - food and shops are plentiful and less commercialized compared to Phuket
I hope the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) collaborates with you somehow, someway for these fine tips, Paddy! It's important for us professional planners to know these information from you, "an attendee" who may be foreign to the country. Thank you so much for your videos. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
It's funny Paddy. I've been watching your complete travels. I'm planning on going in November. On my rough draft itinerary, I'm planning on most of the islands on this video. Thank you 💓
Thank you, your footages are amazing. Thailand has many beautiful beaches that we want to visit. Your information help us to narrow down which islands that we want to visit on our first trip to Thailand.
Great list. Koh Yao Noi is my favorite so far, but I am going to Koh Lipe this year, so maybe a new favorite. Koh Kood is beautiful, but so so many sand flies :( Thank you for doing this!
I have been waiting for this video and I am glad you made it. I haven't been to most of these islands as I have only been to Thailand twice for two weeks each time, but I feel like every video of yours I watch, I add to my list of places to visit. I didn't expect Phi Phi and Phucket to be on the list, but I knew Koh Samui would be #1 from watching your videos. I have been to Koh Chang, Phucket, and Koh Lanta so far. Koh Samui and Koh Lipe are coming up next!
Thanks for the video!!… we are going to Koh Samui in mid-June. Any advice on restaurants that are a must? We’d love to taste some real local cuisine. Thanks again.
Thank you for an excellent presentation here. I am looking forward to becoming an expat in either Thailand or the Philippines and I would like to enjoy these islands you pointed out. My ETA is sometime June 2024.
Phuket it is for me for the moment, i have yet to travel and find out about the rest mate 😉 Thanks for your POV on the islands 🙏 And as always, C Ya in the next one, cheers 🙌🍻
I spend ages researching Thailand looking through all sorts of vlogs …… I’ve just watched a few of yours and I’m hooked! Cheers mate! Learning a lot ready for my 3 months backpacking at the end of this year 👍
A year well spent and a great series, well done. Spot on-Koh Samui No 1, back in the day I lived in the village of Lamai for 7 years. End of this year, early next year I plan a two month + visit to Thailand and the most part will be spent on Koh Samui.

I'm Thai and travel to islands for 20 years, including every islands on your list several time. My Top 10 1 Similan 2 Dong 3 Ardang 4 RokLoi 5 Rok 6 Surin 7 PhiPhi 8 Mook 9 Tao 10 Kood
I moved to Thailand 22 years ago from Boulder, CO U.S., and still, have a house in Koh Samui but with my 3rd wife, the first being in the U.S., moved to Nakhon Sawan a Thai village that is nice. In the early days, I went to all the places you mentioned except the Islands close to Bangkok.
Looking a bit slimmer Paddy! Great videos and very informative. I'm too a teaching casualty of being overworked with online plus in school and then no holidays. Thanks for the vids.
You really are inspiring me to travel more when I'm over there. I must admit I've not heard of some them . But they look stunning, every one of them. Cheers Paddy
Hi Paddy, by putting Koh Samui first, you moved my wife and I to tears, because the island is our second home. Unfortunately, we could not be there for two long years, but when we resolve our affairs at home in the Czech Republic, we will soon move there permanently. Thanks to your videos, we are always at least for a while in our beloved Thailand.
Amazing video Paddie, we are heading over in July. What islands would you recommend to visit? I know it will be wet season but we are celebrating a big milestone birthday on full moon 😊
I would love for you to visit Koh Jum, I spent a month there relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of life, very very quiet and local- i ran the little bar in Loma Seaview property :)
I love your Top 10 series :) of course, such a list is always subjective, but I can see your reasons! Have you actually been to Koh Phayam? I havent but many people swear on that one. Anyway, continue your great work, cant wait to visit Vietnam with you :)
We already have our room recommendations in Krabi, Karon Beach and Koh Phi Phi. We’re looking for a company that could set up everything else we want to do like for example someone to give us Private airport pick-up service in Phuket with a guide each location and tickets and set up for elephant jungle safari, boat ride to Maya bay, Emerald lagoon and Tiger cave temple by private car. Any suggestions??? Thank you
Please do not forget to visit Similan Island, the most beautiful island in Thailand. Open for travel in November But should go during February - March It is beautiful and stormless.
Stop promoting your country as long as your country is abusing and torturing (baby)elephants for tourism and entertainment industries!!! How can you talk about and enjoy beautiful islands while knowing that these animals are suffering and traumatized! Wake up! Warn tourists about these practices, that would suit you! Thanks!
Phuket ,because hand on heart has to be some of my best holidays iv'e ever had .Koh Samui for the same reason a close 2nd ,But Koh Tao for me ,even though it was on a day trip ,But it's paradise before your eyes i kid you not 🙏But if you are going from Koh Samui to spend the day there it's a journey and a half on a speed boat so make sure the weather forecast is good .Trust me .you wont want to do that journey if the weather is iffy .Thanks Paddy for reminding me over the last couple of years why i love Thailand 🙏
Great video! Thks for sharing! We are fam of 5 so looking for an island that has walkable center with restaurants, by the beach. Could u reccommend? Thks Paddy!
Hi, thanks for the video and explanation - very inspiring - actually I am going to visit Thailand this year :). Any idea which Island might be the best in the second part of October??
Been going to Samui for 20 years now . Have visited 4 others on your list but Samui will always be my favorite as well . If you know your way around the island you can spend as little as you want for accommodations or as much as you could spend anywhere , like at a Four Seasons which the island has . I stayed in an airbnb 2 miles to Chewang Beach ( the best beach as far as white sand , swimming and laying under a palm tree for shade ) for $ 400 a month . Theres plenty of action if you want or quiet places to go to as well . Fishermans Village in Bophut is a must to visit as well Enjoy Samui . Plus if you live in north as I do , there is ( covid depending ) a direct flight daily from Chiang Mai which you just can't beat . In 1 1/2 hours you can go from the mountains to our favorite island and be swimming in the afternoon in the Gulf of Thailand !!
❤️🙏🏻Paddy! We left Koh Samui as so many tourists. Koh Phangan was more laid back. Zen Beach has amazing sunsets & was great atmosphere. Much cheaper as well(2020) maybe more expensive now. Can recommend Dragon Huts if you are ever there again.💞💋
Great video! Just found your account, i will be watching your other videos since i am going to thailand for half a year. Do you maybe have tips for when you can negotiate about the price and when you stick to the one that is given? And how much lower you can go?☺️
Which of the trat islands is most recommended and why? Which of ALL islands are best for luxury resorts under 85 Usd? And how many places should be visited in a 6-10 day trip?
Koh Samui is my favorite Island for sure in Thailand, What I love about Samui are the cool ocean waters unlike the very warm coastal mainland waters of Thailand. How safe is Thailand? Thanks to your videos, we are always at least for a while in our beloved Thailand.
Dear Jiri,
Thailand and Samui will be so blessed to welcome you “back home” again. 🇹🇭🙏💖
Ik ben Thais en ik ben echt heel blij dat jij naar lopburi bent geweest
Awesome as always. Koh Lanta is always a fav of ours. Plus Koh Jum near Krabi is great. Quite and locals great.
Amazing video Paddie, we are heading over in July. What islands would you recommend to visit? I know it will be wet season but we are celebrating a big milestone birthday on full moon 😊
I plan to go around Thailand near future ... Thanks for all your videos Paddy ... all infos will help me 😁
Love this video! We are in Thailand (documenting our full journey here on YT) and Thailand is awesome!
omg, I can't image how you can make so many good videos in such a short time, all those landscape are so good
Nice work Paddy, I really enjoyed that review! Great narration brought the whole thing together! A few more spots for the bucket list for sure!
Thanks for sharing! So useful to make a decision on where to go next!!!
Wow! What an amazing review you gave to all those beauties, I really enjoyed. Never been there, but it feels like have to!
All is so beautiful island in Thailand,
Thank you so much my friend,
I would love for you to visit Koh Jum, I spent a month there relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of life, very very quiet and local- i ran the little bar in Loma Seaview property :)
I love your Top 10 series :) of course, such a list is always subjective, but I can see your reasons! Have you actually been to Koh Phayam? I havent but many people swear on that one. Anyway, continue your great work, cant wait to visit Vietnam with you :)
Ko Racha Yai ... amazing place!
Bang up video here, treacle. Shall attempt to feast me peepers on some of these in the future, cheers. Spiffing!
Very good review mate, well done!
Thank you for this content, it’s really made it easy to choose 😊
Very professional and informative video- many thanks!!!!!
Thank you
Many thank you for review koh in thailand. very nic erykoh.
Thanks!
I love all the island that you shared! 😊
Amazing! Again xx love what you do xx Samui for me, but to be fair not seen the rest like you xxx
Loved the video. Thank you for this, it's helpful. Are there any options where we can go on a boat trip at night (after sunset) privately?
Thks Paddy!
Nice video we love it! Love the places !!
Hi, thanks for the video and explanation - very inspiring - actually I am going to visit Thailand this year :). Any idea which Island might be the best in the second part of October??
I loved Koh Samui, not surprised it is #1 island on your list
Thanks for that. So basically cheaper to Air BNB than book a hotel?
👍🏻
❤️🙏🏻Paddy! We left Koh Samui as so many tourists. Koh Phangan was more laid back. Zen Beach has amazing sunsets & was great atmosphere. Much cheaper as well(2020) maybe more expensive now. Can recommend Dragon Huts if you are ever there again.💞💋
Good night from Papua New Guinea. I enjoyed watching your contents.
I'm glad I visited 5 out of 10 your list, already. 5 to go
Love your video Paddy. Useful video. Informative. Thank you.
Very welcome
Great video! Just found your account, i will be watching your other videos since i am going to thailand for half a year. Do you maybe have tips for when you can negotiate about the price and when you stick to the one that is given? And how much lower you can go?☺️
When you come, we are glad. When you leave, we miss you. Please come back and visit Thailand again.
Which of the trat islands is most recommended and why? Which of ALL islands are best for luxury resorts under 85 Usd? And how many places should be visited in a 6-10 day trip?
"Welcome to Thailand. I hope you have a wonderful time and consider visiting us again in the future."
Samui has it all. Great island . Probably the best one to live on if u want to live on an island in Thailand.
Great video Paddy can’t wait till November,,,peace
