Dear Deborah Ashby, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the incredible Microsoft Access Tutorial. Your explanations were clear and concise, and your voice was easy to follow, making it a pleasure to learn from your videos. As a beginner (been using Access for just over a year now - regret why I did not learn it sooner a decade, or two ago), I found your tutorials incredibly helpful in building my skills in Microsoft Access, and I was able to progress quickly to more advanced features. I am truly grateful for your dedication to creating such high-quality educational content. Once again, thank you for your hard work and commitment to helping others learn. Your contributions to the community are greatly appreciated
It is certainly the best Access course I had been exposed to in years. Deborah Ashby is very didactic, and her way of teaching is clear and follows the natural steps of learning. Deborah and Simon Sez IT, you are the best! Thank you very much.👍

Many years ago I tryed to do some work with Access, did one database for my brothers wines, did it all from scratch just by trail and error but soon got it to work as I wanted. So, why not try it again and here I am, following your tutorial and enjoy every minute of it. Great work from all of you... Thumbs up from Sweden 🙂

The imports work fine in the exercises but if you change the lookup to "allow multiple values" in let's say the ActivityLevel field then you can no longer import any data into the table from excel or a text file... So what is a workaround to be able to import data into access with a table that has a lookup with "allow multiple values" enabled?
tbl Tour Trip Type Table Tab Triptype, Data Type. I'm sure all this alliteration and duplicate word choices seemed like a good idea at the beginning...
How do you make multiple lines text fields? The only way is CTRL+Enter but you see just a part of the text and you can't add a scrollbar. If you increase the field height it messes the resolution of the YES/NO checkbox next to it if you have one. You didn't put the original destriction of the trip which was long. You put a short version.
OK - OMG - gaping hole alert: at 3:32:08, where you set-up the countries visited, there is no segment that tutors for this table or the TblTripCountry at 3:32:19. Need some continuity here ... 🙄 Hey Deb, at 2:00:01, there's a check box feature that appears on the "Country" selection column in the datasheet view that isn't covered in the narrative. Since I just started watching this series, I'm wondering if that will be covered at a later time in the series. If so, you might consider adding some kind of subtitle that effect so folks aren't sitting around wondering what was missed.
Where there is continuation of access videos such as reports. I am having problem with gaps vertical, even using set up shrink. The gaps happens when street line, or city or zip or state or fax is not available. It's a directory of 24 counties. Not all counties provided all the data. The report presents uneven space between each paragraph. Although I make same size for each field. The only field I made bigger box is the County name and drop cap to stand out. Thank you for all your videos.

Deborah, The text file "EspiritDeTourTripImport.txt does not import. Error Message = FieldDuration Days does not exist in destination table 'tbltrip'. I have checked, it does appear in the tbltrip table in access, but not in the text file. It does not import the excel file with the same message, but Field Duration Days is in the excel file as well as the Access file. I can not go any further, because the files do not import. Deborah I am sorry. It was my mistake. I found it and corrected it. In my table the field name "DurationDays" was only "Duration". Therefore, because the field name was different, Access did not want to allow it to be imported. After I corrected it, it imported perfectly.
In the relational tables section when you’re working with the link table, you drag and drop, well that is fine, I am visually impaired and do not drag and drop, so how do I do this strictly with keyboard shortcuts?😊
Unable to import the text or Excel spreadsheet with Access from Office 365. Just keep getting the error "Cannot perform this operation", then I click OK, then another error pops up saying "An error occurred trying to import file ''. The file was not imported." Do you know why that would be? I'm using a new Windows 11
Hello, Deb; question: is everything done in DB, forms, and design mode; has the corresponding VBA code behind the screen? IOW, is everything we see in an Access DB will have a VBA code behind it?
