- I don't know what's up with the flickering... It didn't happen when I was playing, it showed up while I recorded the demo with camtasia.
I did a second and third shoot and it always flickered when the vort was speaking.

Apparently a vortigaunt surviving also shatters reality by a significant factor and makes everything start blinking faster and faster.
I thought my device was glitching out
That's quite poetic how they come to your aid at a time of need
Only if you inadvertently call for aid. aka. xen grenade those crates to die a lot more slowly
also kind of ironic considering a super vort was the final boss of the first game
for those who are unaware, you can spawn vortigaunts using the xen relay grenades, as they are the only NPCs that will spawn from them at that time

Not really, from what i remember after i threw one headcrabs and zombies can come sprawling out. later in the fight however, the grenade starts spawning only vortigaunts who wont kill you, it confused me at first and thought about shooting them but before i let that thought come across the advisor's attention switched to me so i turned my back on them to risk myself getting blindsided.
@@dewmdoomie1730 The crabs and zombies only spawn from the boxes in the rooms, Xen any of the containers or cars and you’ll get vorts.
I didn't even know vorts came to help during that fight. I was too focused on not being crushed by shipping containers.
If you use xen grenades they spawn vorts

stand directly in front of the Advisor and he literally hits himself with the containers. I was disappointed how easy the fight was

I could never pull this off, that Advisor is dead set on killing them. And, _typical,_ if you try to spawn the vorts after the boss they simply attack you, not having witnessed your heroics.
i died from laughing when i jumped up and gave the advisor a bruce lee kick and got that achievment. its like the game would know I just wanted to make that thing shut up
i was panicking trying to spawn in medkits and these guys spawned instead
In my experience it just makes the boss harder. If the advisor gets hit by anything it goes invincible for a while and you have to stop shooting it for its shields to go down, then you can land a shotgun blast or something powerful. But the vorts just attack it constantly meaning you can’t deal any damage until they die. And if you try to teleport them in when the shields are already down, good luck because they are only off for 2 or 3 seconds then you have to wait 20 more seconds or so, so you have to get the timing just right to be able to hear this dialogue. I think the mechanic should be reworked

The "How many are there in you?" line from the vort is obviously a reference to us, the players.
Also, it's directly referencing the all knowing vortigaunt from Half Life 2 :)))
If you actually get several vorts to survive after the fight, they will sometimes speak after each other.
Also makes the fight WAY easier, since the Advisor targets vorts over the player.
My favorite line is "We will continue a-UAAARGH"

On my first playthrough i accidentally forgot him at one of the doors on the facility where you find judith and on the second one he died after crossing the portal

I accidentally summoned vorts because advisor got stuck in container and refused to die so I used xen granade. Of all vorts that came to my aid only one survived.He also got stuck on container but I got the dialogue.
This is just the cave vortigaunt from HL2, still cool.
Wow what. When I used Xen Grenades after the fight he said "shit, now they'll come for me" and they were ALL hostile
Did they only allow the voice actor to take one breath per line? Sounds like he's trying to not shit his pants

Damn, wish I could get to that advisor fight. I keep getting locked after the fight with the clone. He limps away but I can't move.
i remember when only one of the vorts fought for me, the rest were half stuck in a wall telling me they will continue their hunting despite doing nothing but wacthing
Last time I had vortigaunts, they attacked me.

@@heinzbrezel8412 Actually, I figured out why. I sent the Advisors Body to Xen. They think I’m a bad guy (because they didn’t see me kill the advisor of course)

What I’m saying is, if you use the Xen grenade on the advisors dead body, the vortigaunts that teleport will be hostile.

Well damn in a way the Vorts and Bad cop kind of have the same story... I'm surprised this is not a part of HL universe yet considering how it is though i digress.

this is reused dialogue from hl2 and episode 2
As the person above me noted, all the Vortigaunt dialogue in EZ2 is just recycled from HL2 and EP2. The dialogue that sounds like Bill Cosby comes from the All-Knowing Vortigaunt, an out of the way HL2 character (hidden inside a cave in the map before Black Mesa East) whose voice is distinct from other Vortigaunts, likely at least in part due to him having a sore throat.
Advisor was actin buggy so I didn't get to kill it

only in the ending fight; you must do it while fighting the advisor, or the vorts will attack you since they didn't see you fighting the advisor

this comment section has now made me feel like a total idiot during this fight, just ran around like a chicken with its head cut off when i could have just used the xen grenades to make things alot easier for me.
People are so surprised with vorts... Like cmon guys, have u never played terraria as a summoneer?
Also, using xen grenades really helps to remove containera and other crap outta air, so it will be easier to dodge
