NY Subliners have been the most disrespected team all season. Opponents and 'analysts' underestimated a championship winning NY team consistently and they paid dearly for it.

Haggy needs to be given the chance to coach. One of the most knowledgable people in the community. His reputation as a player cannot be still hindering him surely.
I really hope there’s a larger skill gap next year...... I hate watching these highly skilled players unable to show their talents because of the current bot style call of duty.
I feel like there was a clear 3 best teams and they finished that way at Champs. Skill Gap was decent
@@AliFrankTheTank no it wasn’t. there will always be a skill gap to an extent, but it was small in this game. look at cw for example, there was a pretty big gap between faze and the rest of the pack. this game has instant ttk, no red dots and absurd soundwhoring .

Wow. I really liked how Censor straight up called Dashy out. Somebody needs to say and address it. It’s just unacceptable how good he is, and to have nothing but lack luster events and championships year and year. Dude needs to get it straight and get on and get.

they got 2nd twice bro. they were a top 1/2 team in the game from major 3-major 5 qualifiers which is a pretty long stint too. to say they had “nothing but lack luster events is insane, especially when he performed great most of the time.

Dashy has failed to step up on multiple LAN occasions. He's a mercurial superstar of a player. He's in the same bracket as the likes of Hydra and Abezy...but they show up when it matters. Dashy has the worst 'chips to talent' ratio in COD history. Not saying he's 100% the problem, but something doesn't add up

As an OpTic fan, I’m beyond happy for New York winning. Priestahh finally got himself a ring and the Kismet story is awesome.
I also believe that everything said on this podcast about OpTic’s situation is true, though I do believe in Ghosty and I think we need to be patient with him, but the SMGs need to go. Shotzzy is too frantic in his play style and Huke just isn’t making good decisions.
I’m super happy NYSL won it. I think as far as Optic it’s a big discipline problem for the SMGs. Ghosty and Dashy can hold it down but Huke is the weakest link it looked like especially in this tournament. I’m not sure what will happen but they need much better decision making. I don’t know who their IGL is tho so it could even be as simple as that.

He's made money, won Worlds on Halo and Champs on COD. Considered one of the best FPS players to exist. Signed to the biggest org, gained a ton of fans through content......I don't see the drive anymore I see him content on where he's at.
Definitely not the popular opinion, but Dashy, Ghosty Pred & Huke could be a well oiled machine. Not everything needs to be flashy.
@@MSFLO733but like Doug said though, the problem with optic is that they think getting slayers like Pred will solve everything. As it is they have such a talented roster but they are not disciplined. Huke has so much potential and he can reach that next level if he only plays tighter,like he did in Major 3 up until the finals. and so can Shotzzy. Sure pred can join and get more kills but if they stick with this mentality they’re not gonna win anything. Discipline is the X factor and I still think this roster can win everything as long as they play tighter
As for specifically Shotzzy, i think you’re right when you say he’s content where he’s at but I still think he can turn it around with some good coaching and he’ll become more disciplined

I agree with a lot of ACHES takes on rosters, but I just think he should maybe keep in mind how some players actually affected a teams performance versus their individual performance. Both Hicksy and DanGhosty elevated their teams to contenders. I would 100% keep them in my head and consider dropping the others
Definitely agree, neither of those players were the reason their teams struggled at certain points of the year. Huke was overall not a good addition to the team and you could even argue that they could get a better sub than what shotzy was for them this year. With Toronto imo it was Cleanx not always showing up the way he can, just being super inconsistent.
Can someone explain what they mean by “that role” when referring to Envoy? I keep hearing it thrown around, but I haven’t heard it defined. Are we talking about a route man, a slower slayer sub, a selfless player, like what exactly is the characteristic of Envoy that makes him super valuable?

@@brandonschmitt3690 Don't get me wrong, I think Envoy is a really good player. I was just curious what characteristic they keep talking about when they just generically say "that role". Also, it needs to be said that Kenny has just not been good for 2 years basically, but then he has like 1 good tournament and then it buys him 3 underwhelming majors in a row. Out of the 11 different splits (5 stages, 5 majors, and champs), Kenny had a positive KD 3 times and 2 were online. He's gone positive at 1 event. Even at stage 4 where people think he was godlike because he showed out against Optic, he went negative. I'm not saying stats are everything, but Kenny has been their clear worst player for a long time.
He’s a do it all roll player. A smart minded objective player/teammate that also has a really good shot and can go toe to toe with Abezy, simp, shottzy, hydra, kis, cleanx…Also he’s a free agent sub. Him and pred are pr😅the most sought out sub players that will be available as the other ones probably won’t leave their teams.
Can't say it was day to day. NY won 50% of the tournaments this year. Can't be mad both teams came in under the same circumstances and Uktra fell flat

Even crazier is that Subliners woke up at 8am, did a brief Free for All match as a warmup, and that's it. It was all about getting in the right headspace for the afternoon match.
As an OpTic fan I hope they take a serious look at how they have been running the team. Way to much drama lately not enough winning. At some point maybe Dashy isn’t that guy. I hope he is and from a fan perspective of liking the guy I want him to stay. But the reality is maybe he needs to go. Keeping Rambo and then having all the internal issues with him and Dashy and then watching Sender win 3 chips including a ring just points to bad leadership. We need to see some changes. They are all saying they aren’t watching VOD they are just focused on playing their game. You can’t do that anymore you have to have a better system. Everyone over their needs to step up. Get Pred drop Huke and get a Coach that wants to be a leader. If Karma wants to step up and do it great if not we need someone else. These guys have to much talent not to win one event. Also I like the idea of Drazah to Boston. Snoopy Drazah Owakening looking for one.
Karma was only their for a short period of time and has not been playing the game. Karma knows about winning and strategy he deserves an a fair shot and longer time of playing and studying the game. He hated playing mw2z. don’t let these clowns fool you about karmas potential as a coach, just cause they are jealous they don’t have three rings. And got their asses kicked by karma many times.
Huke hater. Why so biased? Huke did not play that bad. And ofc he costed them game 4 because of what he did. But be realistic, dashy and shotzy have been on OPtic for 5 years. Without winning champ. Illey got dropped, The king Scump gave up his throne. And they still do not show up. Point your dirty fingers at the roots instead.
@@2pak100 Nobody said Huke played bad. You yourself said Huke "did not play that bad". Thats the issue he didn't play great. He has less of a ceiling than anyone else on this roster and surely without a doubt Shotzzy and Pred. Huke hasn't been consistent all year. Pred has been a consistent 1.15 since he joined the league with less talent around him. Shotzzy has the ceiling and the talent as well as the brand so its just the reality of the situation that Huke isn't coming back. I don't think anyone should be surprised by that. Especially how the season ended Top 12 and then 5/6th at Champs. Not to mention Huke costing at the end of the series vs NYSL. The roster will likely be Dashy Ghosty Shotzzy and Pred.

I agree with Censors take on Brandon. The last few years players have expressed problems with Brandon’s work ethic, showing up on time, not respecting coaches, etc… Talent only takes you so far. They need a change
I really don’t think Brandon is at fault. He’s a main AR so having him trying to push the obj when he doesn’t have the gun to really do that effectively he tries his best to get kills for his team to push into the obj. Shotzzy can only do so much movement to get to the obj, I honestly think huke is out of place and needs to be on a team with much less pressure like mutineers. OpTic gets envoy and it’s a super team.

I don’t think they drop ghosty his potential is too high imo. You can tell in certain moments he’s definitely taking a step back and playing a role. He has that pop off, snappy, clutch factor, he’s just being what the team needs. I think they keep him for next year

Doug loves the fact that he "made" Dashy's career. And the guy just hates players who play well on teams that aren't winning. But it's "all love."
I think bringing in another good sub for shotzzy would help a lot with how he plays. I think a lot of what he was doing in terms of trying to do too much was because he was picking up the slack. Not to mention I think it was also just the game tbh. The last few games he’s been absolutely cracked. Need to pick up a sub like envoy.

Every team needs to look at what New York did this year. New York set the absolute gold standard for work ethic, culture, and professionalism. They are ushering in a new generation of competitive call of duty. If I’m a team owner or GM right now, and I’m considering what to do for next year, I am not entertaining a single member of my team or coaching staff-no matter their skill, accolades, prestige, etc.-without looking them in the eye and asking “How bad do you want to win?” And “What are you prepared to do to get there?”. I’m picking my team and staff based on the look in their eye when they answer those questions. I would rather sign four players and a couple coaches that no one was ever heard of, than household names, if it means a team that really wants it, and is prepared to approach competing like a professional athlete. OpTic this year was the antithesis of this approach. You could see it in the players’ cavalier attitudes, and the decision to play the majority of the season without a coach, but most telling was the decision to bring in a clearly uninterested coach with 0 coaching or team building experience, because he is a big name and had nothing better to do. The level of unprofessionalism is embarrassing. Vegas Legion, with an extremely small amount of resources, assembled a team and staff with more drive and passion than Optic did.

If you want consistency, go back to LAN qualifiers. Do them in different areas every few weeks. Majors more spread out. NO 5 month long off season. But it's 5 months cause Activision wants more Warzone focus
Lowkey if Optic drop Huke and Ghosty, if they’re gonna get pred they should consider getting Accuracy too. It might sound dumb but Surge had a family-like culture and that was cultivated by Lamar. They don’t need a 4th guy as a slayer when they have Dashy Ant and Pred. Lamar could lead the troops and bring good winning culture, and as long as he drops a consistent .9 they’d be a consistent optic team that we haven’t had in a long time

I understand the take on the format and would love the (Winners Finals / Loser's Finals /Grand Finals) format to be reimplemented so we can see more games played on the day of Champs and I agree it can help prevent players from getting cold. As for this Champs, we could've had 9 games played and we got 5. I think the take on Toronto coming out flat is an understatement. The first 3 maps were a bloodbath and the last 2 maps were the only matches during Champs, where Toronto looked like they had a chance of winning. The cold take just parallels into saying the other team was just coming out on fire. Let's juss call it what is. Toronto choked out the cheeks and allowed a dominant hotel team like NYSL go into all 3 games modes on HOTEL.... back to back to BACK. They allowed this because they underestimated their opponents due their winners finals performance. Should've been watching Vod again but it seems like they didn't watch the recent matches...
It's interesting to hear y'all talk about how the ultra weren't warmed up/prepped. 100% right, Toronto did not show up. That match was not a good example of how good they are.
So the question is, do cod and eSports need to imitate pro sports which are largely successful? Or make their own plan (three matches on championship day vs the superbowl we saw this year)
I personally want to see a NBA-like system. Huge playoffs with lots of matches to really find the best teams and then a championship series that takes more than 1 afternoon

Ultra didn't show up that's on them not the format. If NYSL did this on a Sunday where the final 3 teams played they would say it's not fair NY came in hot from losers final and Ultra was cold.

It's funny how Boston struggled, and I sat back and thought of one man to change this team to a championship caliber team. That man is James "Clayster" Eubank. Literally fits what they need to the period. I expect Boston to be looking at him. There's no way Legion keep him if he gets other offers.

I believe for the world championship done in one weekend shouldn’t be a thing. They are supposed to be best team in game not best team of weekend. Kind of take a nhl playoffs system on a smaller scale maybe 3 game series leading up to it. I do understand that the logistics of it probably won’t pan out for a very long time. Just think it shouldn’t be decided in a weekend

Its been 6 years for Dashy by the way. Anddddd both hia chips were the first major of the season before anyone gets their teamwork and understanding of the maps down perfect. He has a lottttt of changing to do to be able to win a major 5 or champs that's for sure.
Thing about Dashy is most of the season he played like a team player but all that just seemed to disappear during champs, I do believe with a whole offseason to work with Dan and Damon he’ll be better and smarter than ever

Dropping Ghosty would be an abolute L. His playstyle reminds me of Damon to an extent doing the shit work and look what that did for the dynasty team. His comms are a bonus. I think its the other 3 that are so sporadic on the map.
Doug Dashy got dropped twice that take is faded nothing this year was taylormade for him, the problem is that Optic dont have a system and rely on flashy plays and Dashy as a bailout, they re subs need to learn how to get cracked and make plays within the system ie nysls subs, they runnin the 7 sec offense in nba

I wasn’t sure at the time but now I can confidently say Huke single-handedly costed OpTic a top 4 placing at champs. I still don’t think in their current form they would’ve won, but it’s pretty hard to argue against the idea that Huke not watching that mid cut costed OpTic that series at the very least and probably more.
IMO, at the very least Huke needs to go. Maybe Dashy as well but Ghosty secured his spot with his performance and Ant is the face of the team.

He makes very impactful plays but I agree he’s definitely not a superstar and in my opinion doesn’t even come close to living up to the legacy of Scump/ Crimsix. If they add a real true coach to this team instead of or alongside Karma (who is a goat PLAYER) I don’t see how they could improve from that.
