I asked my parents if I could go visit some sick kids and seniors but they said I was too young. But looking at these kids made me realize how age doesn't matter when trying to make a difference and showing a smile on these people's faces. Awesome kids.
I dressed as Santa one year went to the the hospital. Years ago..too see the kids...their faces would light up..one kid who never speaks yelled SANTA ! even the sickest kids wanted a hug..I had to go in the.hall hide my tears and compose myself

My 5th grade class experienced the same thing over 10 years ago. These kids are so kind and loving. So much love and potential in new generations.
When i was in 3rd grade our teachers asked us if we wanted to help a lady in our community who was critically injured in the hospital. We all agreed and used the money that we raised that we were going to use to go to an amusement park but of course we agreed! We were on the news and they even took us to the movies it was a good year!
Heartwarming to see kids so caring for their classmates. You don’t see many feel good stories from the news, so this is particularly awesome to see. Love it!

Primary schoolteachers can indeed make a big difference in shaping the outlook of kids at a very impressionable age. I don't think they get enough credit, or pay. This was a job well done! Reminds me of some good teachers in my primary classes who took an extra step to shape our worldview positively.

It was hard enough for me to go through treatment but to think of children having to do it.... I just CAN'T imagine that.
The Teachers, Staff, & Parents must me SOOO PROUD of their kids.

The kids are just so sweet, and God bless them for that! Just one concern, I feel buying books wasn't the best decision, they could have spent it on the bill, research, or chemo. Buying books was a waste of money, not hating though.

Why is this news the kids had no choice even if one wanted to go on the trip they'd be out voted. And it's the teachers idea let get in the news today. Good thing they did but still. and do they think other classes would not do this? Your class is not special just put up to wanting to do it by there teachers.
Why do you have to be so negative to such a positive thing? Is your life so miserable that you have to say something negative about a situation you know nothing about? So what if all you said was true there's still a bunch of kids at a children's hospital that got some books to bring some joy to their lives. Also these kids learned if they didn't know already that it's better to give than receive, and that good can come from it in the end.
