How did bro make a space marine helmet suffering from middle age baldness💀💀💀💀
Space marines are blasted with growth hormones, steroids and a cocktail of other chemicals, so it would be a miracle if they had any hair left
Morda tam pajacu
1d4chan pretty much made a joke about how almost every single Space marine is bald. Anyone that has any ou ce of hair is a Hair-etic (unless they come from special Chapters like the Blood angels, Space Wolves and etc.)
@@fenrirsrage4609 and Konrad curze cuz he gotta have his edge lord haircut
You say "middle age baldness" like it's a bad thing.
"Nobody ever uses this tank marine"
*glances at my rhino*
*has the guy with the tech shoulder pad*
not only for Iron Hands, but in general, with so much missing limbs in lore, there needs to be an upgrade sprue for bionic arms, hands and legs
Agreed time for an update
3d print them. There's already more amazing options than GW will ever be able to produce.
I know Sternguard have a robotic arm in their sprues
@@jc7997ajI see that differently. I would if the 3d printing stuff would reach the good quality of GW models. I am not putting some bad item on a otherwise great sculpt. in my opinion +95% of all 3d prints are bad design. Either they are comic dimensions, false dimensions, to less or to much details. Not to mention all the weird choises some 3d designers make.
I know alot of people think most of the 3d stuff is amazing, but most people also do not have or have a weird taste.
Emperors children, please
I was already really impressed by the paint job. But then I was utterly blown way by the boldness of covering it in dust. The final model has so much story and character. Amazing.
And when the seventh seal was broken. Jay decided to make an entire Iron Hands army.
That's a lot of effort for an April Fools joke. Well done.
Where is the joke lol
@@midknight9327 at 11:51
Would love to see this for every chapter 👍🏽
@@melongraffers4884what’s the joke? I don’t get it.
@@midknight9327 Well, for me, it was the notion of lifting a space marine out of lameness by converting it to an Iron Hand of all things.
I’m loving this sorta mini series you have of one off space marine chapters and legions, hope you keep going with it
It’s awesome. It make me want to do the same
This is actually so cool, my space marine iron hands could never stand up to this! I love the adjustments and the painting!
Jay has to do Dark angels next. There are so many possibilitys now.
He better do all 3 wings
@@WilhelmScreamer 3 armies in 1, hail to the First!
As someone who painted quite a few Iron Hands Blue lenses really make the model pop better
Howling griffons! (or charcaradons..)
Your model looks real neat too!
Yes to Howling Griffons! A great colour scheme, and ancient chapter (in lore and IRL)
Patriot 105 Xtreme !! You gotta love that lil guy. I've had mine over a decade and it's a true work horse. Makes a perfect 1st AB if anyone is looking. You have the regular, fine and super fine options for needles. Can't reccommend enough.
Really cool results. So important to tie in your model with the base. That extra (but well demonstrated) bit of effort just elevated the model exponentially.
O no! You made a Silver skull marine. 😊
In light of your idea regarding "Wacky" paint-schemes that need a good touch of grounding in the 40k Grimdark Universe,
I Humbly request that the Lamenters make an appearance! The McDonalds Marines need some love, and an appropriately grim paintjob to match their sad, sorrowful existence.
The decal on the head was a great idea I feel that it was just out of scale that's why it was failing. The silver dome is a great improvement.
Man, I think coating it in pigment powders was such a fantastic idea. Definitely adds a dimension of story telling
Always so good to see new conversion videos!
The color scheme is simple, yet efficient, and you made it so alive with so little colors, well done !
Iron Hands, that is what I am painting my first army as. great video.
If you want a flamboyant scheme the Iron 10th's rivals the Emperors Children is the best you can ask for.
The iron hands successors, the Sons of Medusa are my chapter and i would love to see a dive into them. A very unrealistic red-orange dessert base looks good on them.
I’d love to see a run where Jay works with some people and does a single model of their custom chapters(or faction equivalent). Even in a small selection you might get a very diverse/unique challenge, with interesting results.
Amazing work, appreciate the content.
Dude, this looks amazing. It's straightforward and "simple." I may borrow.
I love that you put out so many videos. It enlightens my week and I get excited those days I know you are going to upload another video.
Thanks for keeping the hobby motivation up and great content.
I'm thinking doing similar Death Guard scheme as you have but looks so tricky haha
Iron hands are underrated, GW Please make more books for them.
MART
wraith of iron is fucking goated
Not just books mr Martin
They need more minis
their getting 2 successors books
Let's not get ahead of ourselves...
This is the earliest I’ve ever been to a video, happy to be here!
Great job! I'd be curious to see what you would do to an Emperors Children.
Raven guard and Iron hands in a forgettable legion competition
Wow the cog-style shoulder pad a stroke of genius!
such a cool video man, such neat simple conversions! but so effective
I would really like to see your interpretation of a Blood Raven Marine.
I support this notion. Ideally someone with a visibly stolen weapon, like a Terminator with a Custodian Spear, or a Bloodthirster's axe.
Carcharodons next would be pretty cool !
This makes me want to go paint iron hands right now, great video!!!
I know that you’re a big fan of Deathwatch but I have a challenge. (The same challenge we all face), can you try to modify a small 5 man Kill-Team so they all have the same usual colour scheme but bring out their chapters and identity more than just painting their right pauldron in their chapter symbol? Detail through design!
Great video as usual, thanks!
I feel like Jay would have fun painting a Hospitaller marine, despite their armor being white like the White Scars, the gold and red stands out well, and with their silver helmet it is definitely something that catches the eye. Also checker patterns go great with them for more personalization and variety.
I wasn’t digging the shaved helmet but making it a literal chrome dome really tide it together and now I love it.
Howling Griffons would be an interesting one to grimdark
Honestly I would love to see you tackle a marine from the scythes of the emperor. They have a very bright color scheme that would be fun to see brought back down into the grim darkness of 40k
Man really mad Iron Hands look interesting
I would love to see your take on the Iron Snakes! They were my original army choice as a teen and to this day I still really love their lore and style.
Jay, the cog shoulder pad idea was great - good job
For drilling Barrels, I take a needle to pierce a little hole in the first place. Makes it easy to hit the right spot in the middle. Then it’s way easier to drill the hole with a drill.
Optional. I drill the hole with a bigger drill at first and then I change to a smaller one. Gives a cooler front for a muzzle
Great suggestions! Thanks for sharing!
I built a Kill Team of Iron Hands Terminators to use as Morloks (using Custodes Rules). I gave them all some kind of servo arm, big ass weapons, and made sure their silhouettes were wide. I love them. I also made an Intercession team and used Heavy Intercessor bodies.
i recently started painting Iron hands myself for my MK3 horus heresy battle group. it's been super fun
personally i give it a black under coat, then Vallejo black metalic over everything, then Iron hands steel on all the trim. after that and all over shade with agrax earth shade, and a dry brush of Iron breaker to give it the armor the almost metalic grey look of some of the heresy art. then i paint all the pipes and eyes using tallasar blue and paint the bolter white, using thinned down pylar glacer as a shade. they're looking pretty good so far for the little work i've done, but i'm thinking about painting one or both of the shoulder pads black and giving it some kind of gloss to still give it that shiny look, but i'm not too sure. might even give a few of them a bronze face plate just to mix things up a bit
this is a nice change would love to see more.
I’m not going to be hyperbolic here, and maybe it’s because I haven’t actually SEEN many Iron Hands minis, but that’s easily one of the best I’ve seen. That pigment powder trick and the rest of the techniques with the dry brush really make him a bit special, for my taste. I’ve just started back in the hobby and begun a Lamenters force, but now I want to paint some of these guys like that 😂 goddamnit 😂
Well the technique and the details are amazing, yet the end result is also....bad because as technical great as it is, long term would just bore you to death
@@xardas149 I don’t know, I really liked it.
He looks pretty cool, the freehands are impressive. Personally i start with a Gun Metal prime, then i spray a sepia wash from above and a purple from below to add a little interest also emulates forged steel, it ends up very subtle on the finished figure. Drybrush with a lighter Silver then brush on Black Templar contrast (tiny bit of Airbrush thinner) all over. Next pick out some scratches/edge highlights with silver, you can be sloppy/just drybrush due to next step, varnish then a 'Starship Filth' oil wash. after it's dry i pick out the best looking edge highlights/scratches and leave the ones that look a bit sloppy under the Oil, varnish, armour done. You would do transfers/freehand after the black templar stage (before oils). The furniture on the weapons is painted pretty much identical to this, For the pouches i paint them in a ochre/khaki (kinda like British WW1/2 webbing) colour as it really adds a nice pop. For conversions i STRONGLY recommend the Bald Eradicator (and Hellblaster i think) heads as they look like faceless cyborg clones or something.
The Crimson Fists definitely needs some Reinforcements
Rahhhhh! Iron hands!
I wish there were more bionic torso and leg bits. That’s the only problem I’ve run into. All the art shows robo legs and like a bionicle looking torso
all the identically shaped but differently vibrantly colored space marines do evoke early bionicle
Would love to see your take on the Carcharodons. Such a weird chapter, but really awesome painting and kitbash opportunities!
You've said it now, I look forward to the Grim Dark Rainbow Warrior video XD
Amazing work. The only critique i would offer is that the black looks a bit like a really dark blue, like he's more an ultramarine at night.
Looks really good likewise with your patreon this month. Looking good.
Dame that sliver head really pulled it together, was not felling it then boom came together
I would love to see Jay paint up some Blood Angels on the Deserts of Baal
Iron hands: FLESH IS WEAK! MACHINE IS IMMORTAL!!!
Rust:
Paint some Howling griffons pattern divided in 4 parts, red and yellow
The pigment powder really brought it all together. Love it. Gud jerb bro.
Carcharodons would be awesome to see converted. The tribal tattoos on their armor are sick.
Give some love to the saddest boys in the setting, The Lamenters "For those we cherish, we die in glory!"
That shoulder tip, Chef Kiss!
Paint obsidian jaguars! They’re a pretty niche ultramarines successor, but they have a massive vendetta against orkz. Perhaps even… blue orkz?
I hope Gorgon Terminators get a 10th edition makeover. Like, keep the overall structure of the armor the same, but just bulk it up a little bit. I don’t even play tabletop, I’m in it for the lore, books, videogames and art. I like to draw space marines a lot, too. Mainly Iron Hands, and mainly Terminators at that. But Gorgon Terminators, just by their lore descriptions, are some of the most terrifying shock-troops you could face on any Warhammer 40K battlefield. They’re basically the predecessors to the modern Indomitus pattern suits you see in the modern imperium, albeit heavily up-armored, and with one unique enhancement. Where Cataphractii Terminator suits utilized miniature Ion Shielding, with the generators housed in the pauldrons, the Gorgon suit uses a Conversion Field generator, that turns incoming enemy fire, kinetic or energy, into flashes of blinding light with every hit. That’s right. Disco Death Mode. Shooting a Gorgon Terminator is basically like trying to shave your eyebrows with a live flashbang grenade. The drawback is that this device embedded within the armor produces a lot of toxic chemical runoff and radiation, which requires the battle-brother to basically be entombed within the armor permanently in the form of intense cybernetic alteration and a very, VERY painful bonding procedure. But for the Iron Hands, this is an immense honor only one step below becoming a full on dreadnought, so they’re all for it. And with the Iron Hands being the hardasses they are, you know damn well that any Gorgon Terminator has to have an INSANELY extensive service record and killcount to be offered the opportunity to become a Gorgon Terminator, so if you see one of them sumbitches on the battlefield, not only can you bet your ass he’s seen and successfully replied to just about anything the galaxy can throw at him, he’s also very likely not alone, as they deploy in squads of 5 at the minimum. They also don’t use powerfists, with their melee weapons being either power axes or thunder hammers. And one member of the squad can carry either a graviton gun or, my beloved, my favorite heavy weapon, the Reaper Pattern, twin barreled, over-under, alternating autocannon. (While the Reaper autocannon has such a childishly grim name, it’s a fucking double barreled autocannon, and it needs to make a comeback for the loyalists, because chaos marines get enough cool shit with all the chainaxes and badass daemon engines they use)
I think I might have a colour scheme for you if you're interested on turning it grim-dark.
Chest & Left Arm in Bright Red
Lower Right Leg Guard in Yellow & Black Checkers
Right Shoulder Pad in Yellow & Black Checkers
The rest of the body in Silver
(Add bonding studs where wanted)
Hello Jay, I want to suggest the "Iron Fist" Chapter. It's not clear who they belong to, but I think they are Sons of Rogal Dorn. I have already kitbashed 10 Captains, a Master of the Forge, a Master of Saintity and a Chief- Apothecary. You did a great Job on your Iron Hand, a hard Contrast to the polished Amour the actual wearing
I actually really like the paint job on this one. The scheme itself is begging for some more experimentation though, so I hope you keep fiddling with it.
JAY! It's Non-GW April! Give us more conquest :D Your old dominion video was hekkin awesome.
Also this is probably the best Iron Hands scheme I've ever seen
Way to induce my anxiety for horrible accidents at 2:23
Hawk Lords are always fun, love the purple armour
So, there's a little-known chapter called the Yellow Jackets and i think it would be cool to see you free hand a wasp.
Paint up a Carcharodon. Lots of great freehanding and conversion work.
Excellent work on your Iron Hands figure. Yeah, do the Brazen Claws chapter or Howling Griffons next! GOOD LUCK!!
I'd love to see you mess with some of the "official" homebrew chapters - Blood Ravens, Storm Wardens, and Red Scorpions
Awesome work! Iron hands seem like a cool chapter, but they always seemed super boring to paint until now!
Having just coming back to Warhammer 40K and starting an Iron Hands successor army, I really love this. I'd prefer the black armour to be more black and not so purple but it's still cool and and he chrome dome helmet is spot on. B)
I think you should make a raven guard beakie marine next. The concept of a massive power armored marine being stealthy and hidden
Medusa is actually snowy and stone covered, directly from the Iron Father himself
Hazard stripes on the helmet HAZARD STRIPES ON THE HELMET
Gawd, watching you xacto that barrel out just gave me a ptsd flashback to trying to push bristles back into one of those cheap testors brushes when i was like 12.
I put the blade all the way through the tip of my index finger. In on the thumb side, out on the finger side. 😬
Safety first kids.
Helluva birthday present for an IH player, thank you!
If you want to make a bright scheme into a grim dark one then the Howling Griffons would be a challenge.
I'm enjoying these videos 😁
Make a Raptors mini, since they toss so many transfers of them at us.
would love to see your take on the camo variant of Mantis Warriors used during the Badab War or the regular Lamentors scheme
I cant say I associate the Iron Hands with smoothness, clunky and riveted is more their style, removing the vent really bit Jay in the rear since it is a point of interest that is often painted white for characters. A devastator head would probably be better.
Iron hands are my fav legion, and im really tempted to try and make a chaos/traitor chapter of the iron hands. Potentially fallen to vashtor or maybe they turned before ferris manis was killed because of the disagreements between him and his legion over cybernetic "upgrades". I feel like this would be a badass army for just casual play.
Raven Guard! I know, another black legion, bur hear me out: they're cool!
the crimson fists have cool colours
It would be interesting to see how Jay would paint Dark Angels, since he's experienced in adding in medieval esque details to space marines from his Black Templar army.
2:36 Honestly? It looks even more Medieval knight with that cueball look. Construction helmets are usually drawn to have a bit of a bump in the middle
lmao looks great but the final product looks bald
I'd love to see you make a Dark Angel since all of the new kits have come out. I may or may not also be looking for more inspiration for my own kitbashes
This is almost the exact color scheme I use for my Deathwatch models.
I would have liked to have seen a dark blue glaze back over the metallic dry brushing to merge it back into the armour.
There is a Iron Hands Successor chapter called the Red Talons that are the Death Company of Iron Hands.
I would love to see the chaos legions done as well. Either as intercessors or as legionaries
IRON HANDS LETS GOOOO
gotta make like a squad of salamanders cause that would be cool to see your use of green also maybe the chapter of the son's of medusa
Would love to see you do a synthwave project. I know it's not your normal thing, but love your videos, and would love to see you try your hand at it.
