@@morganmiller8010 Well actually I believe she kept saying "every penny," which is different than "all proceeds." I'm also not sure if she really meant "every penny" though, because that would entail her covering the 2.9% and 30 cents per transaction that Fundly keeps (and whatever portion Live Nation keeps for the concert) which seemed like it would be more than the $1071 it looks like she donated! I also feel like when you're doing a charity fundraiser it becomes a bit more of other people's business what you do with the money you're earning from people in that regard. But maybe that's just me! Either way though, it was just a question since I know Rachel does it and mentions it ahead of time, and I didn't hear Colleen! That's all!
hey colleen! coming from a trans person: if you accidentally misgender someone, that’s okay! just don’t make a big deal about it, say “i’m sorry, she, i’m not thinking right now,” and move on. making a big deal out of it is uncomfortable, because it implies that you don’t see us as the gender we are. you wouldn’t react that way to accidentally misgendering a cis person. just some tips for the future.
@@cas1090 she’s trying. People pleasers tend to go on and on, just like not being able to stop saying ‘thank you’ when getting a present. We know Colleen and her intention and I’m very certain she didn’t mean to make anybody uncomfortable. She was very regretful about it and tried to make the situation better by spending a lot of attention to it. We now know that it makes people uncomfortable, so next time (knowing Colleen) she will probably try really hard to do it differently. I genuinely think Colleen only has the concerns of others and the opinions of other in her head and wants to please éveryone. At the cost of her own mental health. So her intention were not malicious.
It really doesn't "imply" anything. It implies she felt really bad, that's it. She has adhd and hyperfocuses on things and can't think about anything else when she makes a mistake. She definitely doesn't "not see them as their gender" that is REACHING FAR
@@Kenzi24 It's also ok to just listen to trans people when they share a better way for people (and/or Colleen) to handle the situation in the future. No one was saying she did it on purpose or maliciously-they literally said it was ok and were just offering tips for a better way to handle the situation when someone slips up. It happens, I imagine especially when people know someone before their transition like Colleen did with Dylan. Hopefully we can all learn from it and be better people moving forward! But it's sometimes just good to listen instead of getting defensive!
I totally hear what your saying, I tend to react like that no matter if a person is trans or not, but it’s such a big deal in Colleen’s line of work that even if it was a simple thing it would be blown up, that and she is on live for a fundraiser I’m sure she is thinking about a lot of different impacts of the misgendering. Though I think this is important for everyone to remember, to just respect and move on in every day life. It’s also one of those things that every trans person feels different about.
@@bellaandrews2519 Yeah there definitely are differing opinions, though I will say the one stated here is the one I've heard the most, for whatever that's worth! Sometimes I feel like if we harp too long on the mistake and how badly we feel, it really centers US in the situation rather than the trans person who has just been misgendered and misidentified. I'm sure she likely was probably just trying to cover her bases to avoid the "haters" (and probably make sure she didn't burn bridges with a VERY influential tiktoker who she likely wants to collab with for some clout haha), but the more she went on and on, the more it became about people comforting her for the mistake she made, rather than the actual issue. She makes it easy for people to tell her she did nothing wrong, instead of showing her ways to do things better in the future!
Colleen, I know you do this every year, but it always amazes me how kind you are. This is incredible. For you to give your time, your birthday wishes, your thoughts and energy to this every single year is just amazing.

Just came here to say, as a non-binary person, it’s okay to mess up pronouns every now and then. It happens. But don’t draw attention to it or make a big deal. Just correct yourself and move on, because it’s really uncomfortable for most of us to have any focus on the slip up. Love you ❤

My dad was diagnosed with Plasma Blastic Lymphoma inside his nasal cavity just this past April of 2022. The doctors have told us it's terminal, he's will be turning 81 years young come this Feb 2023, God willing. He is not eligible for chemo, according to his drs. So they opted for just targeted radiation therapy on his face/nasal area. He had 8 weeks of daily radiation therapy. We are still waiting for this turn to have a new PET scan to see if the radiation has done it's job of getting rid of the affected area. It's still 2 months away. The longest 2 months of our lives. Hey Colleen I would like to donned a money to children with central and I don’t have a Credit Card yet so sorry about that and I have a Cerebral Plasy and would love to donned some day.
Not that the prizes are necessary however I donated $25 through rush tix but didn’t tweet about it as I was not aware of that being needed. Did I need to post I purchased the ticket and the bonus donation with my purchase of the Cabaret? Or did you guys have those forwarded to the giving link? I’m just confused and hoping for clarification for next year. Again I’m not mad or anything if I didn’t win I’m just looking for clarification. Thanks and loved the show and live stream! ❤
She goes through tweets tagging her and complimenting her, looks through people’s profiles to decide who gets a prize. It’s not an unbiased random draw
I didn't watch this year's, but if it's like the past 2 years I did watch, she mostly just chooses people on Twitter who seem to talk nicely about her a lot (or often who have her name as part of their stan twitter handle), unfortunately. She does a good job ahead of time of making it seem like people have an equal shot at "winning" but there's nothing really unbiased about it! Sorry to hear you didn't win!
I'm so glad this live got posted on yt! I will gladly play all the three hours and hope that the money earned from my view can help a little bit #cancerbackoff

@@wanderinglemon exactly. Plus she’s breaking RUclips’s Terms of Services with the way she’s doing it
She choose the winners based on which tweets were complimenting her
That's a lot of money raised!! ❤❤
Childhood cancer only gets about 4% of funding!! Kids are our future. We need more funding!!
I'm so glad this live got posted on yt! I will gladly play all the three hours and hope that the money earned from my view can help a little bit #cancerbackoff
