Soooo, THOUSANDS of dogs become very sick & HUNDREDS die (including our sweet sweet Boxer girl 😢) from KIBBLE last year ... and the FDA/powers that be does nothing. Nothing. But one cat might have died from RAW pet food and the government shuts it down??? My heart breaks for the family who lost their kitty, but why no action for those who lost precious pets fed kibble?

@Pepper-rn4hh Right? No, but it's the world we live in. That is why experts, like Dr. Judy Morgan, who aren't afraid to stand up to those powers and call them out for their bs are so important. It's also why pet parents like us, who are able to think for ourselves and have enough common sense to listen to all sides and then come to our own conclusions are so important. Nowadays, you HAVE to educate yourself as much as possible to be able to get the best care for yourself and your family. You can not rely on others to advocate for you or to make the best decisions for you. You have to learn how to find that information yourself and then how to use it to your benefit and to the benefit of those you love. More and more people are starting to figure this out, which is a great thing because all of us demanding change is the only way we're going to get it.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. There's so much panic going on in raw feeding groups and no one seems to take the time to do the research. The only ones talking about this are those who push kibble or commercially made foods. Everyone is acting like H5N1 is new, but it's been around for years and it's something that most reputable places have precautions and testing in place for cross contamination like this. So, thank you for diving into it.

People have social media pictures of this woman in Oregon harness walking her cat on trails with her dogs. Totally not an indoor cat. I read that she has since deleted those pictures but people were smart and grabbed them first. Like others I am shocked by the warnings after one cat passed but nothing after so many of ours got sick/passed last year from the food. Thank you for all your info and help.

A war on raw pet food! This was obvious to me when the FDA launched its attack on Darwin's. I used Darwin's for years and had no issues. I'm not buying into this fear porn. I think this podcast was worth my time, as Dr. Judy debunked a lot of the media (both mainstream and non-mainstream) hype about bird flu. I have my opinions on it, but this is not the proper forum to go down that rabbit hole. (I am a human doctor, so there were lots of holes that a medically trained person could detect in all narratives). Dr. Judy deserves credit for speaking out as she did against the medico-pharma cartel weaving its sleazy paws into the pet food space and telling the medico-pharma complex she wasn't changing the way she feeds her dogs. Good for her. I hope raw feeders follows her lead. I am.
My dog eats a combination of gently cooked and raw food, although the gently cooked, it is pasteurized at the FDA recommended temperatures. The food is quite are quite rare when I take the food out of the cooking pot and I give him digestive enzymes. When they claim to come up with a vaccine, STAY AWAY from those cows and chickens. Most local farms selling animals are small enough to go under the radar of any vaccine rollout. It is more expensive, but it is cheaper than treating the issues caused by these vaccines in the problems consuming these vaccinated animals causes your pet.

My concern was with feeding raw meaty poultry bones to my dogs. I had stopped completely and was concerned about their calcium levels. I shop for them at the butcher shop and the grocery store. Based on what you have explained, I will now give them the raw meaty bones along with a probiotic (live cultured yogurt). Thank you for the peace of mind and addressing this matter.

I bought a $9 bag 10 lb chicken quarters- its been cleaned & is in the pressure cooker right now... I already cooked & deboned a sale turkey a week ago. So I will get the other ingredients together- stuff like White rice, quinoa, pumpkin, oatmeal, broccoli, whole green peas, carrots, beef, Ocassional organ meat, sardines & eggs.... thankfully I only have one 18 lb doggie. But several months of frozen meals for her only costs me about $45 . I always look gor onsale meat. She is doing good. Yeah, it is a pain & takes time but I am not concerned about her dying from food poisoning.

Yep.... I love Susan's bluntness. It has been VERY Frustrating, I am within 15 miles of the NWN's factory (on the WA State side) and do much business with them over the last 15 yrs.
One thing many don't understand as well, is that the testing is done on the flock before the birds ever make it to a manufacturing facility. This would not be something that happened on site. Also, IF this were a true virus detection.... There SHOULD be MANY more cats affected than just one. This lot has been available for retail sale since October.
    What's UP Governor Kotek!!
We need to make some noise to make sure all of these agencies are held accountable.
Somebody screwed up on their side.
This was a very unfortunate hit made on NWN that they can't really do anything about. As the Manufacturer's do not have the ability to do this test on an unopened bag to prove or disprove the accusations.

I got very sick in 2001. After two doctors, they sent me to an infectious disease doctor. She did blood work and asked me, by any chance you've been around a bird lately? I thought that was a weird question. Got to thinking, yeah I have. I bought a parakeet 6 months ago from a flea market. She said you have a very dangerous avian influenza. I said am I going to survive? She said I hope so. She had me take some strong antibiotics for 30 days & then she retested me and said my levels were acceptable. I said what happens to my bird? She said is the bird showing any signs of illness or lethargy? I said no the bird is acting normal. Happy and healthy. She said well if the birds starts getting sick let me know and I'll give you some antibiotics for the bird too. She said many birds carry this and some get sick and some don't. Most humans have antibodies that will fight against this but for some reason yours didn't. I said what happens in the future, to me? She said your antibodies should protect you in the future now that you've had it.

I'm not worried about my dog's food because I feed Dr. Harvey's Raw Vibrance and add my own protein (which is human grade meat). My biggest problem is my husband feeding the birds right outside my house -- on the ground. This attracts not only song birds but wild turkeys, some of whom come right up on my deck. Our dog's are leash walked but they're little poop vacuums. It's so hard to keep them away from what they think is an amazing buffet of all types of wild excrement. I'm going to tell my husband if he feels compelled to feed the birds, he's going to have to do it from feeders in the trees and NOT on the ground.

I have a mini schnauzer and I cooked for him over a year, first it gets very expensive, plus he had more issues on the cooked food, guess to much protein. He has had stomach issues since a puppy. Then balancing it for him was so hard, he has to have below 7 percent fat. I put him on kibble and he's doing better than he ever has. That's why I do.

@RVFreeDa Looked at it, to much fat. My friend has a mini schnauzer that eats anything and does fine. Mine has had issues since a puppy. Will never give hills science again think that's what started the problem. I still put cooked chicken and vegetables in his food, there are a lot of great pre made home cooked but again all at least 20 percent fat. Plus when I give him just a piece of a egg he gets sick, or oatmeal, and most of the premade have that in it. Mine is 20lbs extremely active walks over an hour a day and still hyper, so he was eating up to 800 calories a day hard when doing home cooking. Plus if you read up on the breed, prone to oxalate stones, so I wanted low oxalate, they are prone to pancreatitis, prone to fat in blood, I was making myself sick worrying about feeding him balanced good food. Then the vitamins I put in it suddenly made him sick, found natural that didn't work has organ in it made him sick. Different fish oils made him sick. I will always believe natural is better 100 percent, just for me and my little guy it was becoming a huge battle, and if I'm stressed then I'm not a good dog momma.
