Sorry if you knew this already, but the guy on the back of the PCB is a character from Mad Max 2 Road Warrior named Humongous. He delivers this famously weird speech over a bullhorn to the good guys to just "walk away".
Nice one Dome, solid demo for a dude that doesn't really do fuzz. Glad you got a chance to have a go on one. As for the colours, I do a different limited colour scheme every year on it's birthday April 1st. Next year I'm doing a white out version with green LEDs. The blend bleed trimmer is to help with a hot input signal and basically puts more load on the clean side of the voltage divider.
so I should save money for april 1st you're saying? 😅 Blend bleed trim is a very unique option I've seen for the first time. Gives you more control for sure
Yeah! For humongous david prowse the powerhouse, darth freakin vader, Kane of Willow! mad to the max dude! Totally rad. It is beyond the thunderdome dude. Great sound. Very textured and characterized. Excellent.
Its a modified FZ-2 that implements the the bug of the SF300 ,where the switch would engage half way between mode 1 and two giving a third sound. The hm2 is on all the modes as its blended with the dial. Nice of you to give a compliment though, you shoud defo try keeping at it.
I thought fuzz 3 was a combination of Fuzz 1 & 2. Like putting the switch in the “secret position” between 1&2 on the Behringer SF300. The Extra knob blends in a HM2 circuit with everything on 10.
great stuff man, its my favourite fuzz and does so much more as you showed with the hm2 blend and the boost. With the extra control you should think of the centre as zero with a boost to the right and cut to the left, fully left is an inverted hm2 curve lol.
I actually had no idea that having the extra knob at noon meant it was neutral, I always assumed it would not be effecting the signal when it’s rolled back completely.
@@lgrcallum initially i thought the same thin untill i confirmed with tony :) The graph here really illustrates the effect perfectly-im going to take the bacoff mine today and have a bit of a mess around with the negative range and dip switches !
I may not know enough about pedal design to know if this is even possible or know the right terminology, but would it be possible to design a pedal that is has the ability to do fuzz and non-fuzz distortion and let you blend between the two? I normally don't like fuzz either, but something about that hm-2 style EQ makes it sound kind of cool to my ears. Like it's kind of dirty.
Parallel processing can be very cool. If you aren't biased against digital, check out Source Audio's One Series drive pedals. They're stereo or dual mono, so you can do all kinds of fun processing with them. And yeah, being able to utilize parallel streams and blends is huge for dirt
When I was recovering from my cancer surgery and doing a detox I gave up food for 10 days...... The first 4 days were the hardest. Long story short.....you should buy this pedal😉

I did not know that, thanks!

Love the new intro. The Humongous Fuzz is a great pedal. I have the exact same one.
same
Great video! This pedal is on my list for quite a long time now. I think I should get me one! Thx man
Since this is a loaner, I should get one as well 😅
I have this pedal. It’s not just for metal it’s very versatile and AWESOME
One of the better pedals. If im not mistaken, its a modified FZ-2 with an HM2 type EQ on Fuzz 3. Tony did a great job on this one.
I don't know if it's modified, but yeah, great taste in the design by Tony!

Oh so that's the Mod? Got it, makes sense!

Great video, glad you were able to get one to review. I love mine!
It's good to have a friend or two sometimes 😉
I like cheese and beer. This peddle is also nice. Yurt.

Look into the Empress Multidrive, it might be what you're looking after... minus the hm2 eq
@sparrowhawk81 maybe a paralell mixer like the swiss things/ehx tri mixer/OBE signal blnder? mix and match to your hearts desire

Every time you buy a fuzz pedal, one Josh Scott smiles somewhere.
hmm should I eat this week or buy this pedal?
