Thanks for the video. Marine battery bank design is not as easy as it seems. One approach I like is to use when you go beyond one large single battery is to use 2V single cell Rolls AGMs (manufactured at or near the same batch) and connect in series to make a 12V or 24V bank. Then test the bank before installation.
The Midtronic uses a method to measure the internal impedance of the battery without a massive load. For Marine AGMs the Midtronic is the tool of choice for Marine Techs.
Interesting. The resistance in the jumpers between each battery can't be more than, oh, half an ohm. So you're saying that this small resistance indeed makes a difference. Second question: What principle does the Midtronic use to assess CCA? It can't be putting the battery under much load. What is it REALLY trying to measure? Thanks for the video. I always learn.
At 00:23 mm:ss, you said: "connect your BATTERIES". This confused two boater friends i had shared yoyr video to. Instead of saying, "Batteries", please over dub or add/display the word: "LOAD".
Thanks, learnin more and more about batteries and systems with your help.
Thanks for the video.
