I’m watching this clip on a 1080p iPad screen, and I’m still noticing (albeit slightly) the higher detail and color quality of the 4K picture. Looks way more cinematic!
If you're not watching on a 4K display, you won't see the quality difference, only the color difference. I personally liked the original Blu-Rays' coloring.
There are so much more details on the 4k, it is excellent. The color grading is different and it is a bit darker, but that seems more realistic considering the daytime in that particular scene. I like it very much. You probably just miss the more brightness from the non 4k version. But brightness does not equal quality.

@@fugchugson Have you had any playback issues with the 2nd disc of the extended edition Blu-ray of FOTR? I've read a few Amazon reviews that have.
