One of the problems I have with high school is that I "learn" a lot... but I don't get the time to apply any of it. Every day is pretty much like, "here you go, here's a bunch of stuff you need to know. Btw, here's some busy work that doesn't really let you apply any of this knowledge." It's all about grades and tests rather than true learning, which involves actual practice. You can only truly learn from yourself, because YOU need to practice. No one can just give you the experience necessary. You need to apply the knowledge that is given to you and actually do something with it for it to be meaningful.

Kade Kalka very good point, school send to focus on knowledge rather than the ability to apply it super well. I loved math classes because you needed to apply the theories and stuff, but history i did awful at because it was just memorizing dates and times

Ben Burnes Same. I love math! Also, with math you can actually do the experimentation yourself (sometimes) and not rely too heavily on what your teacher is telling you. Pretty cool stuff.

This is wonderful, just what I need to show my HS Sculpture students the first week of school! Thanks.

I have the same problem. Maybe I'll try a timed challenge of some type
