Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

Kelli and Judy truly love what they do. Its so evident that they grow more and more passionate about this organization every year.
I agree. Kelli truly made DCC who she is, and her passion for it shows. Judy too, but I can tell by the changes in her attitude she might be getting more and more burned out as the seasons go. After Cassie retired especially.
@@andbriwaslike If Judy felt burned out after Cassie retired, she most probably would have left a long time ago.
@@rayray.0 I don’t think her heart’s ready to retire yet, probably won’t be for at least a few more seasons. I do think Cassie retiring made her feel like her mission was accomplished, but you can tell she still has so much passion for it so I think the spark will come back for her especially as her granddaughter gets older. 3rd generation DCC gives her something else to be excited about.

@@Xane_Dragon I understand what you're saying. But they both know what they're doing. Out of all the NFL cheerleaders, the DCCs look the best and perform the best. But I feel you.

There was a lawsuit filed last year regarding compensation.
I don't know why this bothers people so much. They all have full time paying jobs. Or most of them. This is just like a side job or something fun they want to do on the side. If it's their dream, let them live it.

These women work as hard if not harder than any of the football players. They have earned every accolade as they are not only great dancers but gifted athletes.

Lisa(rookie during s14) just decided to withdraw from training camp due to severe neck pain. sending Lisa best wishes for what comes next!
wanna correct myself: some lovely people in the replies also told me that she has plans on returning next season
She had surgery on her neck to get rid of the pain, she said she'd be back next year.
She said she will be back next season once she has healed and she's healthy again.
in cases like this when veterans leave and come back bc of personal issues, in the audition process i assume they come back with the veterans and pick up where they left off?

She doesn’t seem super out there personality wise like Kashara, but then again neither is Rachel W. Chandi has group leader written all over though. I suspect her 3rd or 4th year.
I’ve always wondered why they never show the actual first performances. I am assuming they don’t wanna pay the royalties for the song privileges
So many familiar faces in this. I have wondered which is more intimidating, the dance audition in front of everyone else, or after they make the team and go onto the field in uniform for the first time?
I’d say the solo in front of everyone, personally. Something about every single pair of eyes on me makes me freeze. Then add going on tv on top of that 🤣

@31:54 you can tell the difference between the height of the kicks not much precisions and lacey will always have the best kicks
Lacey does have the highest kicks ever, hers are up to her face with no gap and everyone else’s are just in front of there face it still very high dont get me wrong.
Lacey is literally one of the best kickers in DCC history. I don't know why they have never brought her back to help teach the kickline. The only DCC that has come close to having her kicks is Jada. Jada's kicks are pretty as well.

I remember seeing Lacey kick herself in the face on the field in her rookie year and I said to myself 'Well, if she makes it to training camp she won't get cut for kicks!'

Seeing them in real life was insane...like a real life barbie
The level of fitness required of these ladies is incredible. I reckon it must be roughly equivalent to the level of fitness required of Olympic athletes. And the flexibility!!! I am a man in my 70s, but i couldn't kick up shoulder height let alone above my head level when i was in my teens. Those women can kick above their heads!! And how on earth they remember all those routines well enough to be so confident i have no iea. Amaing stuff. And of course so easy on the eye.

So the combined salary of the 36 cheerleaders is about $2.1M - for that they go through hell and dance all but continuously for the entire game. The combined basic salary (before perks nd endorsements) of the players is $83M - these are the people who have unlimited substitutions and (offense or defence) are only likely to play half the game time... seems fair right?

The sound effects are super annoying. They're usually used when something goes wrong in other shows, but here they throw them in randomly. I keep frantically looking around to see what went wrong or who messed up, but no one did. Bad choice.
Rlly like to know how they keep their makeup to stay when sweating.. I naturally sweat on my face head an neck when it's hot out.. sucks trying to wear makeup n eye makeup and sweat gets in your eyes then u look awful by the end of the day..smh. anyone has any tips plz lmk!!! Love yall from southern ohio! I watch every video lysm.!!!!
Setting spray and lots of powder. I was formerly a colorguard member and we had to preform during our high school football games the entire time. Lots of setting powder and spray.

2020 was Maddie’s last year as an official DCC, but she is still an Allstar, so if someone gets injured last minute or a situation like it, she might perform again.

Kellie has a way of nearly making me cry when she gets emotional. She’s gotta stop that. I have a reputation to uphold after all…lol. Actually these girls get me boo hooing all the time because i know what it feels like when disappointment hits you. Dance is not, theater arts is not an easy avenue to take. It’s not for the thin skinned.

I'm alternating between being incredulous that anyone thinks that it is important to jiggle in front of jerks and dirty old men- and being infuriated that they get paid squat all. I wonder if they get paid for being on this program -- as if.
It feels all kinds of wrong. The initial humiliating auditions, The camera angles, the heirachy, the pussycat doll dancing, selling this to old Men and young girls.....it's a bit ....off!..okay, so, Mildly entertaining. ..but essentially feels like there's a dark and seedy reality to it.
I feel so bad for the 2020 girls. What a strange time to be on center stage. I would have to sit out and wait for the mask thing to go away. I wonder what would have happened if they all decided to sit out because obviously wearing something that restricts breathing while doing such an athletic task for hours isn’t healthy.
Pretty sure everyone agrees there needs to be term limits on this show for the coaches or whoever that are always talking... Nobody wants to listen to their nagging all the time to beautiful women...It's the most disgusting part of the show
I love dcc, but I hate when the lady with the brown hair scolds the girls about weight and performance issues when she herself is overweight and I bet she couldn't perform one tenth of the routines that these dcc girls can do

I saw that and was way annoyed by that. That's the breaks though.
She might be overweight ( that’s your opinion but I think she’s in pretty good shape for her age, and from having 2 kids) but she was once a DCC. A very well loved DCC. (Who might I add was really pretty and fit) I personally think Kelli and Judy are both great women who lead this team year after year to excellency. I agree they shouldn’t talk down on the girls. But they aren’t doing it to be spiteful, they are doing it to make the girls the best dancers that they can be. Obviously the DCC deserve to get paid as much as the mascot but Kelli and Judy aren’t in charge of how much the girls get paid, that would come from higher up.
