    I’ve had similar experiences when looking at the vastness of space. It’s disorienting, like gravity no long exists, and you can’t tell up from down: terrifying and awe inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story. This flip book may be one of your best to date.

    Your flip-book concepts are so small and simple physically and yet unbelievably big and complex in the emotions they consistently conjure in one. As I get older, I seem to become increasingly emotional about the important things in life and well up over them in a way that, mostly, I manage to hide. Guess, in your flip-book, it’s the intensity of black, the music and your reliving your childhood emotion that makes its impact particularly profound! Thanks for a beautiful experience.

    The irony of a stop motion animator saying “it took a lot of time to (prepare the cards)…” made me chuckle. The attention span and focus needed for the work you do is unreal and I am so grateful that you share your work the way you do. Great story concept, with an amazingly simple explanation of this paint!
    (Also, I had no idea the blackest paint war had a new contender! Or, that Vantablack had a new version that beats Black 3.0. Or that Black 4 was now out and maybe beats Musou. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE! 😂)

    The more you touch the paint, the more you damage the structures of the paint that makes it so black. Its extremely delicate. You dont want to paint anything that you'll touch, compress or lay things on. You cant clear coat it either. Its an incredible paint. Black 4.0 is another version of this paint that absorbs 99.5% of light.
    A really cool think to do is spray a figure with the paint, then get micro holographic glitter in a little bit of paint thinner and spray that over the figure. The thinner will evaporate and leave the holographic glitter on the black paint. Ot looks absolutely amazing

    • @ShiningDarknes
      @ShiningDarknes 4 месяца назад

      There are very specific clear coats you can use that do not add much if any gloss, they themselves are not as sturdy as typical clear coats but from there you can then add other things for durability. No matter what way you do it it is obviously super expensive because of how specialized it all is.
      Anyway there is a video of a guy doing a super cool cosmic paint job on a show car with this black as the black layer and yeah the process used to not make the thing is intense.

    • @breedlofam
      @breedlofam 4 месяца назад

      @@ShiningDarknes which clear coats? I've been using Culture Hustle's Black line as well as Musou Black for years now and have never heard of a publicly available clear coat. Surrey Nanosystems may have developed a clear coat for Vantablack, but it's not been talked about since they work on government contracts too. That's doubtful as they have their proprietary line of Vantablack that doesn't require a clear coat and is extraordinarily durable without a secondary coating that they use for space and government applications.

      @@breedlofam my guy the video I watched was like 4-5 years ago so I cannot tell you. I do know it was not something widely available at the time. The guy did a lot of experimenting. I think it came down to doing a shitload of very thin coats as opposed to the normal method of clear coating.

    I have anxiety, but its totally normal for people without anxiety to feel anxious and/or panicked, for me, I usually feel anxious at night, similar to your story. It makes me feel better that someone can feel anxious without having anxiety because it makes me feel more understood and that I can feel ok that I'm not alone because while anxiety is common, everyone around me has found ways to cope and everyone still feels fine. I'm glad not that you felt panicked but that it felt relatable and that anyone can have a panick attack. I feel safer.

    I cant even begin to believe how good you are at what you are doing, not in a bad way but honestly, you have the best video ideas and the best mind to make you do what you are able to do on this platform and others too. So I'm just thanking you for being part of my current childhood, from the concepts, to the editing , or even just your voice, sometimes, I watch your 2 hours long flipbook fest and they are so fun to watch, you know Andy, you truly are a good dude. And the skill of your flipbook making is not just amazing, it makes me think if I could try this, just grab business cards out of the trash and working with that just sounds like a joyous time to share with people. Sincerely ImpreciseMice ;)

    I remember when I had my first panic attack...
    This flipbook portrays it rlly good tbh-
    I was 11 and I was at my aunt's house.... it was past midnight and I couldn't sleep... I got up, went to the kitchen, sat down and just looked at the stars through the window and thought about life....I thought about everything I did wrong throughout my life and everything that's gonna happen wrong in my life...but eventually my aunt came and saw me there and comforted me. She was the best aunt I could ask for

    5:11 - I get a small panic attack from apps that let me see thru the planet at the constellations on the other side. It freaks me out that the ground suddenly doesn't feel solid. It can be hard living on a ball in space when you are extremely aware of living on a ball in space.
    That said - this project was amazing. And the amount of work you did just to prep the pages was just... wow!

    Oh My Goodness.!!! Mr Andymation, you have produced one of a kind, in my limited experience. You set a goal, marked out some moments and then proceded to carefully explain why black aint so black but the Musou black is really black. Why it is so, why we can see it, why we cannot see it, why it can be marred, how it operates and so much more. A video with a real thinking, creative brain behind it with the intelligence and craft to explain it to the masses. I'm a science nerd, but you have laid it before me, with no attached ego and that's what makes you the best bloke today. THANK YOU.

    Ooh amazing concept and execution! It's interesting that it seems to have more of a blur to it when flipping than the ones with the usual unpainted paper. I know a printed version would never look the same as the actual black paint, but I hope you sell copies of this, it's probably my favorite flipbook that you've made so far!

    Artistic choice for anyone wanting to replicate this in animation. I would love to see a heart beat, a pulse from with in the starts slow and in the chest slowly moving fast and fast and higher and higher in the chest untill its in the throat. Then he catches his breath, and the rhythm slows and the pulse goes back down into his chest to be a steady heart beat.
