I absolutely love this video. When i started to write things down, i got more done. I write 2 to 3 tasks a day. Like do 2 loads of laundry, exercise for 15 min. On my bike, walk 30 min. Grocery shop for 2 essential items. Food prep my supper. I got so when i checked them off. I felt happy. Accomplished, and not overwhelmed by stuff to do. The next day it would be different. Maybe buy yourself 1 item that makes you happy, flowers, a treat for your pet. Then water your garden, go for a walk at the park. Meal prep your breakfast. Check it off. It makes a huge difference. Thankyou.
The actual definition of "diet" is: the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats. It's not what we typically think of as restriction, or "less", etc...
I read this book awhile ago and what I always remember is "that if you want to start a new habit, couple it with an existing habit". This works! Thanks Jeremy.
I am Amy from Pittsburgh, PA. Atomic Habits is one of my favorite books, and yours is one of my favorite RUclips channels. How nice to see the two combine. I went WFPB because I have lupus and sjogren's, and I will do ANYTHING that has any chance of reducing my pain levels. So motivation isn't an issue, but technique sure helps. I appreciate your channel and all the work you put into it. You make a difference. 😊 Thank you.
Hi Amy!!! This message meant so much to me. I'm so sorry to hear about your pain and suffering and glad that we might be able to help in a small way. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help!!!
Hello from Tucson, AZ. Love your channel. Struggling to lose weight. Vegan 6 years, WFPB 1 plus years. Learn so much from you. Enjoy your cookbook reviews.
I have watched a few of your videos over the weeks but this one got me to subscribe. This video helped me to see that I don’t have huge mountains of change ahead of me…just a few small changes each week in a better direction. Most of my life I’ve been plant strong and a normal weight/fitness level. Approaching my 6th decade of life has brought changes that seemed to make everything feel like an uphill battle. I’ve been trying to “dig in” and go deep with the goal setting but my heart just wasn’t into it. While watching this video, I made the list of habits and scored them, it seemed fairly obvious to me that I can stack a couple of habits easily. I added a few more habits I would like to incorporate and will do one per week and if they seem hard (or I am avoiding doing them) I will go to the 2 minute hack. This is a really helpful video and I especially like the way you breakdown the book and keep the strategies simple. One book that I have been working through is the 12 Week Year. Its message is great and I am trying some of the techniques…maybe you could do a review of it if that fits into your future video plans. Thanks for creating excellent videos and sharing your success with us!
I love this and that book. I read it a couple of years ago. I adopted habits to have a clean and tidy home. A messy home stresses me. It worked. I must say that not all habits work so I would evaluate my new habits every Thursday. On Thursdays I would change or drop habits that don’t work for me. I used the habit stacking approach morning, afternoon and evening. I’m going to dust off the book for motivation and apply it to weight loss. Great video. It works . I would recommend a habit tracker until the habit is formed .
Thank you for reviewing this book. My doctor recommended it and it’s just sitting on the bookshelf. I think it’s time to start reading it and applying what it says. 😊
This was so, so helpful, Jeremy! I read this book a while back, but you’re “take” on it, is making me want to go dig it out and re-read and DO THE THINGS! :)
Hi J... I clicked on this video because I just finished listening to Atomic Habits and it helped me want to change my weight/health! So, I'm so excited about this video... I'm commenting as your video is just starting... Jane from Mona, Utah
Thank you very much for this encouragement with your spin on it. It truly does help this newbie keep going. I went fully plant based at the end of April, but now feel like I need to keep going to high raw, because I have so many intolerances - even to produce. But I’ve lost 30+ lbs. - and do feel much better already. I am excited for the day that nothing I still eat bothers my digestive organs and kidneys. When pain no longer has to be my motivator…
Loved this video. I really enjoy book reviews and how we can apply them to our situation and goals. I am going to order the book(with your link😉) and may do the same on my channel. Thanks for all your great content!
@@pbwithjeremy aw, that is so sweet! Thank you! Like you changing my diet and lifestyle has changed my life. I no longer look at my MS as a progressive, degenerative, incurable disease. It is simply a condition that I live with! 🤷🏼♀️ We all have something, mine just happens to be MS. 😉
Love 🥰 this inspiring and motivating video Jeremy and have a lovely Thursday. Yes we're all unique and what suits one person doesn't necessarily suit another person. Love ❤ Jeremy & family.
Excellent! I highly recommend the book Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg. He is a Stanford researcher who founded the Stanford Behavior Design Lab. His book and research are referenced in Atomic Habits.
Liked & subscribed within minutes. Thank you so much for breaking things down so it’s not as complicated in my wee brain. Please keep making videos like this. Sending love from the emerald green isle of Ireland 🇮🇪
Wow! This is incredibly helpful and empowering. I feel like I have a more defined plan, including a plan for when a blip happens or when I get bored. My husband is no longer against me eating WFPB, as long as I stay within a reasonable budget, so that's great. He's very slowly starting to come around lol I have support from some woman that I am getting to know and be friends with. I feel like this time I will succeed.
You got this! I'm so glad to hear that your husband is supportive - you're going to rub off on him, I know it! So happy this video is helpful to you on your journey. Keep us in the loop!
I have a tween and a toddler that would rather snack all day instead of having a meal. Luckily 90% of the snacks they want I don’t necessarily like. Some healthier options is a habit I need to work on so I’m not tempted by the other 10% of snacks for my kids.
Great video! Thank you for the info and book in a nutshell - my type of reading! 😂 I have my morning routines so down. And eating habits are pretty good (still have room there to grow) But my evening habits need help! I like the idea of the list of present good habits and bad habits as a way to grow.
Bonjour! Bonne continuation, Annabelle 🙏☮️🙂
Hi Jeremy! Such a great video! Would you ever consider doing a beginner tutorial on the instant pot? I've had one sitting in it's box for a year - petrified to use it, yet I know this would make my life soooo much easier!!! Thanks in advance.
Some really great tips simplified here.. I'm trying to get back on the wagon after being successful at changing my lifestyle choices, getting healthy & losing weight, by exactly taking on this mind set. But I'm struggling to return, having a partner that doesn't support this lifestyle.. hmmmm I need to ask them to support me ?
I think you’ve nailed it here. You should at least have that conversation. It’s easy for a partner to passively not support you but when you call them on it I think it can be a sobering thing for them to realize how hurtful it can feel from your side of it. A partner is someone who supports you.
Anyone have any further ideas about how to make habits satisfying? I’ve tried journaling, and it just isn’t for me. I get that satisfaction from electronic devices instead. Just wondering about others thoughts, seems to me that satisfaction is a secret to unlock with this.
My husband and I are opposites. He is tall and slim. I am short and fat. He enjoys movement but salad no. I enjoys healthy food but find walking difficult.
Probably use a cashew base for the cheese/fatty vibe - you could also use tofu. And then lots of fresh lemon juice and lemon zest. You might to best with a "frozen cheesecake"
Thk u for this vlog...and a special shout out for acknowledging your viewers...luv that respect goes both ways 🫶 Alyce queens Ny...and yes I respect this channel of yours...💫 cool knowledgeable fun channel

Try setting up alarms on your phone at various times for different activities you know you want to do but procrastinate. I have a few and they are great reminders to do things.
dunno why but it made me think of something I enjoy.. an art thing called zentangle. Even if I just do five minutes a day with a pen and paper it's satisfying and over time it gets to be like an achievement!

Hi from DE
Anyone have any further ideas about how to make habits satisfying?
I’ve tried journaling, and it just isn’t for me. I get that satisfaction from electronic devices instead.
Just wondering about others thoughts, seems to me that satisfaction is a secret to unlock with this.
I think it's about making a decision on what you want to accomplish and then picking habits that will help you with that.
