Back in the mid 1960's the CKC Racing Team used that fastback Nova as a F/C body at the Double Eagle Dragway in San Antonio, Texas. Alan Green did so as well, I believe it was even the same car. I was very young but it's one of those memories you don't lose.

That is exactly what it is, James. Run what you brung. The cars are qualified and matched up according to times, somewhat I think for a better show and advancing. and, no times shown during these runs either which is why you don't see them. After qualifying, timing and speed is posted on the boards.

I can tell you I mistakenly at a glance mentioned the wrong engine for the Georgia Shaker which is a 427 Hi-Riser with Hilborn mechanical injectors and running on alcohol.

Sammy, that I do not know exactly but I do not believe so. There is a weight requirement/per cubic inch... so the bigger the engine, the heavier the car has to weigh in to try to keep the field level and competative. The SEGA rules are online so you could look through them. Part of the way they did it back in the 60's which is what this series is about. They dire3ct them back in the line and tire tracks left after the burnout for better traction off the line. Then, get them to the pre-stage accurately and quickly. The show moves along quickly with the assistance of the "backup girls".
