This video makes me feel much better because I couldn’t believe this final, and I didn’t want to watch the show again because of the end, and knowing that he’s trying hard to give Chuck a movie with a better ending makes me very happy. Thank you Zachary :)
When I first watched the finale (way back when the show first aired), I felt like it was a virtual screw you to the fans. I was really upset and angry, but after years of not watching the show, I recently went back and watched the entire series and fell in love with these characters all over again and especially the epic love story between Chuck and Sarah (the best I have ever seen to this day!). After watching the finale a couple more times, I can see now how it all makes sense, and I can also see how she wants to be with him again and fight to get her memories back. As Yvonne said in an interview years ago, you see Sarah start to fall in love with Chuck all over again. The biggest giveaway is that she went to the beach where they ended their first date because that was an important place to them, it's so obvious. I know everybody would have liked to have seen a big mushy romantic scene, but I think this actually was very emotional because of the way she reacts and the emotions she goes through while Chuck tells her the story of their lives together. Then the kiss at the end just nails it (she clearly wants to get her life back with Chuck), and as he once put his trust in her, she now puts her trust in him.
I agree with you, but i think her memories were "just" surpressed. Just like the Belgian was doing to Chuck.. he was "erasing" his memories, but a "magical" kiss made Chuck regain all of them. In my head, it means that he was surpressing everything but the Intersect, instead of erasing them. I know that those are different things, however, with she remebering how to place every object at the Wienerlicious and the beach itself, as you said, means that she hasn't forgotten anything, the memories are there, and Chuck has to bring them back. The answer for everything is the magical kiss, just like Morgan said, and Sarah did in the Belgian case. Sorry for the English, I try my best.

I just finished it and it literally broke me. I’ve always wanted someone to pull the move of not having a happy ending because it’s so played out, but now I get why we need happy endings. The whole point of the show was that Chuck needed to be with Sarah, that’s why he wanted to be a real spy in the first place. And now he’s him 5 years later, and she’s still Sarah from the beginning and it took so much growth for her to be ready for him, they had the house and talked about babies and everything! I’ll never be the same.
It's played out because people like happy endings, in the case of this show's ending I'm sure a lot of people have had the experience of a long term relationship falling apart for one reason or another, so they'd know how it feels and would want a happy ending, because who wouldn't want to see 2 people who are so in love end up together and be happy? Non happy endings have their place, and they deserve to exist, I won't deny that, but as someone who watches shows for entertainment first and foremost, I'd rather have a happy ending even if it's a bit of a stretch (there are limits, of course) because I deal with enough shitty things in life as is, so having a non happy ending to a show I've invested like 80 hours or something into is a big bummer.
Man, Chuck is such an underrated show. Just so much fun with some great dramatic moments throughout as well. Never been able to find a show to fit the niche it filled in high school for me.
So glad I watched this show without being aware of what people thought of it/the ending. I mean, the ending WRECKED me. If you're someone who can put yourself in the shoes of a character and you're in a long-term relationship, this ending is the saddest and most terrible thing you could ever imagine happening. That being said, I never thought "that was a bad ending". It fits the show perfectly. There is so much about identity and what they meant to each other in terms of how much each of them was committed relative to the other, where they were in the relationship relative to one another, etc. To have the ending... be what it was... well, I thought it was gut-wrenching, it made me sad and maybe a little mad, but when the fog clears, it's hard to argue that it's a bad ending or that it doesn't fit. Maybe I can only say this now, after plenty of time has passed. I also like Zach's take on how the show was optimistic and the answer to any question about whether things turned out in the end is obviously "yes". Great show!
I guess. It just makes rest of the show feel not real. Everything was forgotten whether she did fall in love again or didn’t. The missions & emotions they went through weren’t remembered. It felt rushed especially given the villain that did that to the character was only in 3episodes out of the 100+ it made no sense for the story. Also this was always an optimistic show, so I’m sure I wasn’t the only one expecting a canon happy ending to conclude it. And when we didn’t get that & the season just felt rushed it just angered everybody.
i would rather see Chuck come back as a mini-series. Like dexter. The storyline should be Chuck and Sarah going on missions with the dynamic reversed Chuck as the handler and Sarah as the asset. they should go on a quest to rebuild his dad's work with the Intersect so that they can restore all of Sarah's memories (basically come to the conclusion that they can use the power of Intersect 3.0 to learn to fill in the gaps of the scattered research) Have them slowly re-kindle the love for each other and realize they don't need. At which point Chuck wipes the intersect from his mind so no one has that kind of power and they both retire.
@@91bajakathe WB executives Zach was working with got replaced by new ones in the merger. So any green light or script was scrapped I’m sure. Since WB have been losing so much money on its recent movies. Although I would love a Chuck movie there just isn’t enough fans active to bring the network to revive the show or a possible movie. An example is “Lucifer” it got cancelled, it took over 3million tweets from fans trending on Twitter for weeks in order to have Netflix revive the show for another 3seasons giving a proper ending. That’s the difference.
@@91bajaka although the chances are slim Dexter serves as example. They revived it 3 times already 🤣. Didn’t see much fan activity with that show. But then again showtime has the rights for that show so it is a completely different company.
it's a perfect ending: it requires the fans to really absorb everything they know about the show and know that, of course, Sarah fell in love with him again.
Hated the ending and it really bugs me when writers can’t just have a happy ending. Ffs it’s a tv show not real life of course you can have a happy ending and considering the type of show it was it deserved one. I also hated the end of How I met your mother.
Veronica Mars and a bunch of other shows did it through crowdfunding. I just finished rewatching Chuck for the first time in like 8 years. I am broken hearted. Crowdfund that thing. We miss our characters in new adventures.
There was a fan way back when who made her flash through the show so yeah the small fan edit ending blew the real one out of the water. Chuck ending wasn't as bad as HIMYM but still...
I couldn’t stand that how the over arching secondary plot of the show was about Chuck and Sarah’s relationship and all they went through to fall in love and get married then it gets ripped away and not clarified if they do end up together. It should have been clarified or they need to make a movie to wrap up loose ends and questions fan have.
Thought the end was great. Sarah called it "our" story and effectively (in terms of the series) uploaded the data she needed directly from Chuck, no need for intersect glasses. "I know Chuck...again".
the quality of the ending was really good it just not the right direction, imagine being a die hard fan of the show and buying subway just to support it. And find out they wipe everything out for the past 5 years lol
I've watched all the seasons and it shouldn't have ended like this. I just watched the last episode, I'm going crazy... I want a movie or a sequel series urgently!
Love his way of talking 😀 So loose and funny and fun. Cross between a comedy stand up act and epic school teacher teaching film making. I'm behind a Chuck Bartowski film. %100 Fans can make things happen they did I hear for "Casey's" other show Serenity (which wasn't half bad - please 🥺 don't hate me I'm not that knowledgeable of that series and film) I only really know that the fans begging made it possible. It's also proven to work with the show Chuck, itself as I recently learnt.
Dude unfortunately due to WB merger & the executives he was working with getting sacked combined with the lack of fan activity from the fandom, I do not believe it will happen. An example of a show with a lot of fan activity after being cancelled is “Lucifer” it took 3million tweets from fans & trending for weeks in order for Netflix to revive it for another 3seasons. Chuck fans maybe once were active but no no more.
I actually just stumbled on "Chuck" and binged the heck out of it. Make the reboot ❤!! Obsessed with Chuck and Sarah 🙌 it would be awesome!! As far as the ending goes I do see what everyone is saying... the end was surprising really but I can't imagine a future where Chuck and Sarah are not living happily ever after either. That said, it would have been nice if it wasn't left to the imagination and we could see their happily ever after like the rest of the cast...it was out of character in a way not to give Chuck and Sarah that much, just a "flash" even lol. So make it up to us with the reboot🙌
I think the most disappointing thing about the finale was that it was the finale. It was actually a very clever way to include a montage of the show by having Chuck telling Sarah their story. All signs pointed to the fact that Sarah would get her memory back. The fact that she asked Chuck to kiss her showed that even if she didn't get her memory back she was falling for him all over again. My biggest disappointment was that Big Mike didn't get let in on the secret.
I don't care if it's a movie, special episode or just some short little video. I just need a canon confirmation that Chuck and Sarah are back happily together and that she got her memories back.
I loved Chuck and love Zac. I did not like the finale at all. I was hungry at the writer! It seemed a quick harsh end as there were no more money to complete the series properly. Let's bring back Chuck!!!!!❤❤❤❤
A Chuck movie would be awesome! First scene Chuck and Sarah at the beach with 3 kids coming into the scene. Then cyber criminal Carmichael Industries action with everyone back and Sunday dinners at the Bartowski’s. Maybe oldest child was conceived on the bullet train which helped Sarah remember! Please yes!
Personally, If they were to make a movie, they need to start exactly where this one left off. Sure, the cast is all older, but I think, Zac and Yvonne could pull it off. The magic kiss working would be too easy IMO. After a short, goodbye, Sarah should get in her car and drive off, while driving, she is obviously emotional, and mindlessly turns on the radio,. and the Feeling Good by Nina Simone comes on. This triggers her emotions (if not her actual memory) and she spins the car around and returns to the beach to Chuck. This ties up the polarizing ending, allows them to start, and probably fast forward a few years, Plus, maybe its just me, But to me, the music was so important to the series, would be nice to use it to tie it all back together,
I equate the ending as the ending of a good book series. It leaves it up to the imagination. As much as I love books like that the ending of Chuck was a little unsatisfying. But it’s still one of the best shows I’ve seen and I get why the writers ended their show the way that they did!
I just figured either she remembered or he just chased her all over again, though honestly watching him chase her once was enough; sitting through another season of Chuck trying to convince Sara they love each other would have been a little much for me also hey yooo whys the colonel taking strays lol
I dont like to leave the ending to the viewers interpretation. I've never been a fan of those types endings. Don't get me wrong I 100% believe she remembered BUT it's frustrating not to see it. I would've much preferred to see a flash foward to him and Sarah having a couple kids living in the house she wanted.
Terrible ending, after 5 seasons, made me angry. They should have made it so that on the beach, she started to remember bits of all and their love story.
It's a very bittersweet ending, half the reason why I'm personally upset with it is because everyone splits up, basically leaving Chuck alone to deal with Sarah (except for Morgan, he's still close at least), which makes it seem a lot less happy. It's like when a friend group splits up because they're busy with their own lives, sure some of them might meet up here and there, but it's never quite the same as when everyone is there.
I have come to really appreciate the ending. At first, I disliked it because I felt it didn't match the show's optimistic tone. However, as I've gotten older and been through some real hard relationship shit myself, I've come to see the ending differently. Who is Chuck? He's a nice guy who wants two lives but has to pick one. Despite his efforts, he never quite gets both. That's how the show starts and it's how it ends, and there's a beauty to that. Having said that, I appreciate Zach's words in this video and I'd obviously be more than happy to see all the movies!
Hahah took me 5yrs before I could watch it again for a second time. I knew the ending but had forgotten pretty much every episode aside from the 1st & last. I couldn’t bring myself to do it since it feels like the first time watching the ending just disappointed. Even though the overall show was great.
With Zach's current career situation and the fact that WB has the rights of "Chuck" and never greenlit the project... It seems more like it's not happening
the movie is funny and great. however I am a bit dissapointed with ending finale movie. it was not too romantic. i expect they married and have sensual kiss and sex. that will be a great ending
Dude, Psych (which I like) got 3 movies. If Chuck doesn't get 3 movies, I'm gonna be PISSED! Also, the ending of Chuck sucked because I was emotionally invested and there was no closure.
I found out recently. Chuck ruined Batman for me. I went back and watched the original 20. Some odd years later and I can not see Vicki Vale on screen without hearing Chuck.😂 I missed one episode of Chuck when it first aired, and I'm still waiting on a movie. And please, for the love of God, don't make it p.G.
This is why another series should happen besides movie, maybe could hav chuck an Sarah living life after spy life with Sarah slowly regaining memorys, Casey could be retired looking after Alex and jeffster trying be actual spys😂😂😂
say what you want. that ending sucks. writers are just psychopaths. they couldn't just give a happy ending. of all the bad times in the show, conveniently ending should be heart breaking. she'd never be the same without the memories. worst possible way to sell a story.
It's almost the end of 2024 and I'm still waiting on that Chuck movie.
Yes! A Chuck movie. Don’t delay it, I’m flipping old.
I know that if there was a Chuck movie it would become my absolute favorite romcom ever. Come on Zach, make it happen! 🙏😄

The non cliche, non happy endings can work well sometimes, this was just an example of it truly not working one bit. Honestly devastating.
I would absolutely go to the theater for a Chuck movie.
Chuck is one of the best love stories ever told !
There's hints throughout the last episode of Sarah's memory coming back. I thought it was pretty obviously the case.
Yes!!! Do like Psych and do a bunch of movies every couple years!!!
Oh yea that's actually quite a good plot! I'd like that :)
just binged all of it in 2 weeks I need closure
I would pay money to watch that movie, even if you’re 81.
Same
Same!
Please do a crowdfunding website. We’ll make it happen
@@user-wj4mx1ez9d you’re right! I wish there were still some hope
Love his way of talking 😀
Hated the ending and it really bugs me when writers can’t just have a happy ending. Ffs it’s a tv show not real life of course you can have a happy ending and considering the type of show it was it deserved one. I also hated the end of How I met your mother.
Veronica Mars and a bunch of other shows did it through crowdfunding.
I just finished rewatching Chuck for the first time in like 8 years. I am broken hearted.
Crowdfund that thing. We miss our characters in new adventures.
I loved the series, but it felt like the finale was just Chuck crying the whole time... total bummer ending.
WE WANT CHUCK MOVIES 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
There was a fan way back when who made her flash through the show so yeah the small fan edit ending blew the real one out of the water. Chuck ending wasn't as bad as HIMYM but still...
Ooo what fan edit is that?
@@yeskiii In case you didn't find it, it's called "Chuck and Sarah Alternate Ending"
Nãooooo demore, tô esperando faz tempo 🥺😂❤️
Esperamos há longos 11 anos por um final digno pra uma série tão especial como Chuck😪😪😪
Glad he and I are on the same page. I absolutely hated the ending. Sure. Castle had a far worse ending...but Chuck certainly isn't far behind.
Castle atleast had the flash forward scene . They are going to be ok and happy … Chuck and Sarah on the other hand ??
the quality of the ending was really good it just not the right direction, imagine being a die hard fan of the show and buying subway just to support it.
Fans can make things happen they did I hear for "Casey's" other show Serenity (which wasn't half bad - please 🥺 don't hate me I'm not that knowledgeable of that series and film) I only really know that the fans begging made it possible. It's also proven to work with the show Chuck, itself as I recently learnt.
are there any news about the chuck movie?
A movie doesn't even have to go to theaters, a steaming movie, like the Psych movies, would be good.
Been waiting for that movie as long as he's been trying to get one made!
@@user-wj4mx1ez9d nor I but I still want to see it.
I need this freaking movie, that ending is so depressing
Man I binged this show in a week or 2 it was that good !
Even if the memories don’t come back I feel like Sarah would fall in love with chuck again
Please, The movie.
I'm also surprised about the ending, I would have expected a bit more
Who ends a series on a cliffhanger?
I need a movie. I NEED IT.
I am literally depressed bc of that ending
I loved the ending because I understand the message 💕 of course Morgan was right 😊
Psych does it, they have 3 movies out already, Chuck need to catch up!
We need the movie!!!
This ties up the polarizing ending, allows them to start, and probably fast forward a few years, Plus, maybe its just me, But to me, the music was so important to the series, would be nice to use it to tie it all back together,
yes, yes, yes please do a movie at least
I think whether her memory came back or not the fact see asked Chuck to kiss her shows she is falling in love with him again
I equate the ending as the ending of a good book series. It leaves it up to the imagination. As much as I love books like that the ending of Chuck was a little unsatisfying. But it’s still one of the best shows I’ve seen and I get why the writers ended their show the way that they did!
zach should become the next jason bourne. just for irony's sake
I just figured either she remembered or he just chased her all over again, though honestly watching him chase her once was enough; sitting through another season of Chuck trying to convince Sara they love each other would have been a little much for me also hey yooo whys the colonel taking strays lol
My issue was them doing a "assume a better ending". She DIDN'T have to remember. Thats called a cost in a story.
I love Chuck and want a Chuck movie! ❤
So heart breaking when you get to the end. You fall in love with almost all of the characters.🥲
I also agree, We need a Chuck Movie
Só tem um ano isso? Eu tô emocionada 🥹🥹🥹
O filme tem ter todo elenco principalmente Yvonne strahovski
I dont like to leave the ending to the viewers interpretation. I've never been a fan of those types endings. Don't get me wrong I 100% believe she remembered BUT it's frustrating not to see it. I would've much preferred to see a flash foward to him and Sarah having a couple kids living in the house she wanted.
There will never be a Chuck movie... We have have move on and live.
do it do it do it dooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
Terrible ending, after 5 seasons, made me angry. They should have made it so that on the beach, she started to remember bits of all and their love story.
I didn't like the ending because everyone had a happy ending except for Chuck and Sarah.
@@MFAN1100 Exactly, everyone moved on. Chuck and Sarah are left alone to struggle with memory loss and lost love. Sad.
@@bobbymak6964especially Chuck. Every time in the show he was always there to help or support even if the other person didn’t want it. Now he’s alone.
"Rivers and Roads bro" 😂😂😂
5 years of character development down the drain.
That ending was disgustingly bad.
CHUCK MOVIE!
He isn't the only one who didn't like the finale. I have the whole set and am not able to watch it again because of the ending.
Hahah took me 5yrs before I could watch it again for a second time. I knew the ending but had forgotten pretty much every episode aside from the 1st & last. I couldn’t bring myself to do it since it feels like the first time watching the ending just disappointed. Even though the overall show was great.
I thought thought it was fine. Outside of all the adventure & and action, it was a show about hope. The ending was that.
Yes chuck movie with be great love this series
With Zach's current career situation and the fact that WB has the rights of "Chuck" and never greenlit the project...
It seems more like it's not happening
J’adore cette série chuck
Please please give us a movie series
They needed a season 6 to fix Sarah.
the ending was evil
Chuck movie!
the movie is funny and great. however I am a bit dissapointed with ending finale movie. it was not too romantic. i expect they married and have sensual kiss and sex. that will be a great ending
I just finished Chuck loved the show but they just had to fuck it up in the in the last 3 episodes making me feel like I just waisted my time
Dude, Psych (which I like) got 3 movies.
It was a great finale!
Chuck ended at season 4 for me
Shows like this get a little squirrely in the later seasons. I actually thought the ending was pretty good.
