The 1978 Shape Stalks is still one of the most unnerving, yet exhilarating things I have ever had the pleasure to hear. It just screams danger is imminent and to get your ass running. I really like the 2018 rendition the most after it.

Damn Halloween 2 is really really creepy. For a movie that came out in 1981 it has a very eerie environment. More so than the original Halloween. That's what I've always loved about Michael. He has a badass theme to go along with his swagger. Jason and Freddy can never match that.

The H4 and H5 Michael are the ones I’m least scared of. The masks look so bad. The H2O and Resurrection masks were pretty garbage, too. The H6 mask is actually really good! Looks really intimidating in a lot of shots. The Rob Zombie remake mask is pretty creepy too, but in the second remake film it’s pretty bad, since it’s just falling apart and you see way too much of his face. In my opinion, the best masks are the original, H6, the first RZ remake, and the 2018 movie. I hate seeing Michael’s eyes at all in the mask. Even the 1981 H2 mask screwed that part up for some scenes.

You: Going to Bed At Mid Night Then You See A Man In You Closet *The Shape Stalks* You Slowly Walk To It And Micheal Pops Up And Turn Your head into mush
Of all of the chase music I've heard, this is probably the most stressful by a wide margin. The frantic siren noise announcing a threat after so much quiet and subtlety is really nerve-wracking. At least, in the original and most faithful adaptations. 2's is a rising action, almost a continuation, rather than the PERVASIVE onslaught. 4's is like some dance remix, especially since it just throws the theme in. 5 has no idea what it wants. Curse sounds like the beta for Deadly Premonition, while the producer's cut should've just committed and gone cowbell. H20 is...just kind of generic and not The Shape Stalks. Rob Zombie met his standard with an inferior knockoff, then just got a different track entirely. 2018 is the only one I'd say actually IMPROVED the theme, but DbD is a faithful adaptation, at least.

H1 1978 - Great. Simply great. What else can I say about the original? H2 1981 - Just as good as the original. I'd argue it's better due to the sense of tension and anxiety growing to an unbereable level along with the volume. H4 - It's there. A bit too actiony for my tastes, but it fits the scenes it was in given the faster tense. H5 - I think I like it a bit more than H4. It has the same feeling of H2's with the tense growing stronger, with the tempo becoming faster, but it's not what I'd call good. It's okay. H6 TC - Horrible. It stinks 90s gimmicky radical shit, and doesn't fit Halloween at all. H6 PC - Really good surprisingly. It evokes the original two a lot more than the previous themes with the piano. H2O - It's okay, but a bit too grandiose with the orchestra. It doesn't really fit with Halloween, and it's not as effective as the synth themes the series is known for. H1 2007 - Good. It fits Zombie's version of the character, while also sharing the same feeling the original theme had. H2 2009 - It's a clusterfuck. It barely sounds like The Shape stalks anymore. I guess it fits the movie since it barely feels like a Halloween film at all, and it's more like a clusterfuck of Friday the 13th and Devil's Rejects than anything. DbD - Great. I like how it borrows stuff from the original theme such as the percussion as it builds up to Michael approaching, with a sense of tesion like the original Halloween 2 Shape Stalks theme. H 2018 - Excellent. I love the sound of Carpenter's synth at the end especially. Great to see him back.

Whoever says you can beat the original. Open your damn ears and listen to the Dead By Daylight one. It improves the perfect theme somehow.

It depends on what ur going for, both are fearful and anxiety rising, but original is more sharp and classic while dead by daylight is modern and sound like your actually being chased, i like both the same bc they sound the same to me
