@@JohnSmith-ie9jchey, from 2023. Starting to be present and less on autopilot. I've started to respect myself more. I can see my growth. I am better with my family. I am better with my friends. I am learning to take care of myself. GTA5 used to be my go to game to relax. While playing it I used to feel a certain way. I used to just sit in the car and drive. I used to just walk around in the game and somehow it gave me peace. I haven't played the game for more than a year now. And I yearn for that feeling. Be it night or peak afternoon in the game, I just wanted to get lost in there doing the most random stuff. I want to have that feeling in reality. I associate this song, as a song that signifies life. It's sad but filled with hope. It's perfect in a sense. I don't want to listen to it because it makes me sad and uncornlmfortable, but I force myself to listen to it, because I think I should. Its the same feeling I feel in life too sometimes. It's important to go on. I am afraid of death. I hope science does something in the next 50 years to make lifespan longer. I am afraid to lose my identity. I love myself. But someday I will have to accept death. I hope I mature in the area of life. I want to live. I no longer want to operate on fear. I want to find someone to call them my home. I want to have people around that care for each other. I want to have brothers bonded together like an army. I want to give my parents and sister a great life. I want to be able to take care of my family. I am not able to take action for the things I should be doing. I self sabotage in a sense. I want to change that. I want myself to live. Not having any regrets. Have experiences. Meet new people. Go to new places. Become rich and famous. And live every second of it. I don't know how I am gonna do it. But I most certainly will. There's no other option. So here's to being alive. I am 21, a lot of life left ahead of me. I hope you reading this can feel how I feel about life. Become better. Forgive anyone who you don't get along with. Have people around you that love you. Find someone to spend your life with. Become capable enough to provide for the people you love. Have fun. Love others. Love yourself. And remember, smile. More life!
Thank you for giving this little masterwork the REAL hifi treatment it requires.Anything less would be a travesty.Just wish every uploader had the same respect for the work, for the performers, and for us listeners.Brilliant vid accompaniment, too -- that death's-head in the moon was a nice touch.Cheers
thank you for this upload, truly fantastic sound and pictures...my ever beloved theme,so etherical and transcendent...a magnificent internal experience...Great Koyaanisqatsi...

Hi! Off the top of my head, I could recommend you two more pieces by Philip Glass which you may like; they're both part of the soundtrack of the famous film "The Hours": -"The poet acts", in a piano solo version, which I find even more touching and powerful than the original version: ruclips.net/video/nvd22VMp-qs/видео.html If you still want to listen to the original version, which is certainly not bad at all, here's the link, as well: ruclips.net/video/fca2oXLe9g4/видео.html -And "Escape", like the previous one, and like this Koyaanisqatsi piece, relatively simple in its structure, but very effective and powerful: ruclips.net/video/cbCu4Tg-hS4/видео.html Enjoy!
Nebelwerfer999 omg thank you so much! I totally forgot about this! but thank you! I really like alternative music and well that is why I asked! for me this instrumental piece has something that reminds me of it!

I will never not be moved by this music.
Philip Glass is goth AF
I want all of you people to watch Koyaanisqatsi. It is moving and the soundtrack is one of the best I've heard.
... i feel fear ... for the last time
Lovely, beatiful sadness, ethereal...being raised to heaven.
I think Koyaanisqatsi was the best of the trilogy.
You are right
I agree. It is the easiest to watch, but some people think Powaqqatsi has the best soundtrack.
Linda, simples, melancólica e suave. Ótima para fazer uma auto reflexão ou simplesmente acalmar a alma. Sublime.
Masterpiece.....divine and sublime!!!
Such perfect music for these bleak, gloomy times where disease and death reign supreme
Ah, the innocence of 2021. It's 2022 now. Welcome to the party, pal.

christmas lockdown mood
beautiful ! SO SUBLIME !
6:45 - When the best bit starts.
The change in tempo at that point shows so clearly the genius of Philip Glass
If we
dig precious things from the land
we will invite disaster
Near the day of Purification
there will be cobwebs
spun back and forth
in the sky
A container of ashes might one day be thrown from the sky
which could burn the land
and boil the oceans
Many of those prophecies have already come true: snakes of iron= railroads. Rivers of stone = highways. Cobwebs in the sky = power lines.
Amazing
Stunning. Well done.
Magníficas imágenes.
Inmenso Philip Glass com siempre
Очень,очень этого фото Художника ,я уважать начал,а поверьте,для меня это ВАЖНО,хоть и не БЛЮЗ Здоровый....Но фото меня тронули.....
Astonishing video accompaniment!
Minimalism said that our appreciation of music is extremely basic. Even in Mozart, too many notes. And apparently it was right.
Not really.
Me gusta mucho más esta versión, es más fuerte que la otra que anda circulando
but it's beautiful, too...

Koyaanisqatsi
Is it native language?... seem like it
Hopi, I'm pretty sure.
The lyrics are the Hopi prophecies listed. Haunting and though they are vague, somewhat accurate.

The origin of Dr. Manhattan's Theme...
Is that Robert Smith from The Cure that pops up at one point?
Agreed
