  • The extended Sine Law is way more interesting than the one we learn in school. In this video we explain what it is and we prove it using Thales's circle theorem and some trigonometry.

    I first taught math in 1992 yet I’ve never seen this. What’s sad is that I never explored what the ratios equal.
    P.s. Thales was a great genius!

      I will do a video on some of the theorems and propositions named after Thales. Such as the Thales triangle theorem. He was kind of a renaissance man, but of ancient times.

      @@tedszy7100 so a “pre-renaissance” man then (Archimedes was certainly another along with many others such as Aristotle and even Hypatia of Alexandria, who along with Pandrosion were “pre-renaissance women” very much on par with the boys as Marie Curie was in modern times).

    can you teach me more of what you did to find sin(180-x)? like other more difficult variations such as sin(70pi/2-x) plzz 🙏

    • @tedszy7100
      @tedszy7100  Месяц назад +1

      sin(x) is odd so sin(-x) = -sin(x). So then sin(pi-x) = -sin(x-pi). Take the plot of sin(x) and flip it over x-axis. This is now -sin(x). Now shift the origin to the LEFT by pi. With origin in the new place you see your plot is now sin(x).
