The A05s is one of Samsung's latest addition to the A series. As an intended successor to the A04, it is looking a promising device thanks to the Snapdragon 680, a processor which promises way more in performance than the Exynos 850 on its predecessor and the Galaxy A14.

Good review as always izzie. Been your subscriber since your early days(since 2020). I noticed you talked abit fast in this review tho, just my opinion, other than that everything else was top notch. Looking forward to seeing you in higher heights as someone whose been watching you for so long
I am currently using this phone right now and all I can say is that it is decent. It is not impressive though. Camera is stuttery. Switching apps is not snappy and I think this will just make the 90hz refresh rate not evident. Going to a certain task is laggy sometime but it will take you there. It will not hang. For me, I don't think the processor is the problem. It's the optimization of One UI Core on these entry level devices they make. Gladly, Samsung listens to our feedbacks and I hope they fix these problems on future updates which we'll surely receive cause Samsung is known for their generosity of giving updates to all of their devices.
There's nothing to fix, snapdragon 680 is not a snappy chipset it's just bad

On a processor like this, phones on stock android would fly. But Samsung's one UI imo is too heavy for these phones. They always feel choppy and sluggish even though they are on one UI core. I just want to see what one UI 6 would look like on these phones
@@Azu10157 I have both the A14 and A02s and while the A02s is better, both of them are both chugging along
they should remove all preinstalled google apps (e.g youtube, gmail, gdrive, etc)
@@Azu10157 maybe the 5G chipset is more powerful. Mine is the A14 4g, and I've heard good things about the 5g version
Samsung's UI is fine, the problem is that base Android is just heavy. And those low end Samsung have eMMC storage, which is a bit ancient and slow. I don't even know situation with RAM speed, but probably not great either and Snap 680 is already very old chip. If you want speed, you can check out deep sleeping apps and adaptive battery (basically it removes tasks from RAM if they aren't needed and can speed up phone a bit by not wasting CPU cycles needlessly). But basically beyond that, you just need to increase budget a bit and look for beefier hardware.
@@Azu10157 Current budget phones like A05s at least on paper are fine for like 5 years. Probably not on latest Android version, but it largely doesn't matter. App support is much longer than system updates and Android by itself is decently secure. The actual hardware is just not awful enough to become too old and too unusable fast.

Man I have a problem! even though lock screen notifications are on, why my screen doesn't turn on when I get a notification on Samsung a05s. My phone stays on the desk most of the times. I get sms, e-mail etc but the phone screen does not react in the slightest. I double-tap the lock screen to check if I receive notifications. Am I making a mistake?

Go to wallpaper and style from your home screen, enable color palette, apply pallette to icons. For the clock widget, go to playstore and download Google clock app then check your widgets

A05s has a better processor. The itel has a more premium look with its curved display.

@@izziboye Pls do a battery drain test, game test and charging test pls and recommend the charger to buy pls. And also the charging code is "type c to type c" and i change it to "type c to type A" because its charger will be rare and also expensive

My flip 3 got the dreaded green line on its screen barely after 1 year so now I have to buy a budget phone to tide myself over until I reach the end of my phone contract. 😂 I've never had a phone die on me before 2 years and this is the first.
It’s a nice budget phone but I don’t understand why Samsung makes this phone so big when most customers with smaller hands eg: people like young kids and women.
Mostly due to big battery and standardized part binning.

Everything you said in the video is 💯 .
Might be too early to really talk about what the phone feels like, but i have noticed some significant things in my last 24 hours of use.
1. The phone camera app.
As he mentioned, the phone camera app is really bad, like i know he mentioned it, but i still wasn't expecting it to be this bad.
It Lags, the shutter button is slow, and the issue with stabilisation is too.
But the thing i don't understand is how other apps like snapchat WhatsApp and instagram camera work really well.
2. Before updating the phone, i noticed the overall performance wasn't as crisp as what i saw in the video. But an update fixed that i even noticed the camera app got a bit better after the update.
3. The hardwarre is a little tall.
It's not very significant, but if you are not used to using tall phones, you will definitely notice.
4. (This is a good one) The lightness of the phone.
The phone is so light that it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. like it is weired for a little thick and tall phone to be this light.
Overall performance is very good.
Doesn't feel like a cheap phone.
I wish i had more money to go for something even better because if it is cheap and this is good, i wonder what the expensive ones will be like.
I Definitely recommend if you want a samsung phone and you are on a tight budget.

Is your volume down button faulty? That's probably the case. Safe mode is triggered when you power on the phone with the volume down button pressed down.

You can practically see the specs of unreleased phones there, usually based on leaked information. Don't you think there is the possibility of errors?
It actually beats me that you'll argue a phone has a feature based on what was written on a website over actual confirmation from someone who has it. Tells me you'll probably doubt your perception even if you had the phone in hand and can see the feature staring at you in the face

I'm very disappointed with the A05s - I can't even position it as a budget phone, it's even lower! Camera video recording, quality is pathetic, 60fps FHD even worse than 30fps FHD, VIDEO SOUND RECORDING ONLY IN MONO MODE !!! - the stereo is turned off programmatically, - response from @Samsung support - because it is not for budget phones, although you can record great stereo sound with audio recording programs, but not with video, - this is the biggest disappointment, and the camera is also prohibited from using third-party camera applications that could to make a stereo recording as well - but there is a software ban - the third lower camera is only a decoration, the upper one works only in macro mode, in the all, other modes only will be average camera, the lower one does not work in any mode at all - decoration!
