Thanks for this review. I dropped my s10+ and to fix its screen was a similar cost to this A05s. It has its limits but I am happy with it. I may repair my s10 later as a spare.

Had mine a week now and it's awesome. I've updated to Android 14 One UI 6.0. I turned off the 90htz refresh rate to 60, and turned on power saving mode, and disabled animations, (which has made the phone much faster) with no impact on the performance at all, and the battery lasts twice as long - you can thanke later. Wasn't aware of the force apps to sd, so I've done that, tks. It's great that you can move most apps to the sd, and uninstall others you don't want. It's good that Samsung is listening to their customers. Great review, tks. Edit: My speaker doesn't sound bad at all, and the volume is sufficient.

Great review! Thank you! I have one of these phones and am really very happy with it. I've migrated from iPhone to this... basically I refuse to spend thousands on a device when all I use it for is email, browsing and some social media. This phone does more than the older iPhones and performs better - so unless you game on the phone - why bother with something more expensive? The camera is good enough and the only time I ever listen to music using this device, is in the car, via my infotainment setup, and using my JBL headphones - so the speaker really doesn't matter. Voicenotes are audible enough. Highly recommend this phone and again, thank you for your detailed review!

@@annepakiam8922 I bought it and I am very satisfied. The screen is not the brightest, but it only "fails" in bright sunlight. Anywhere else it is alright. The battery life is good for me. Function-wise, it did not stutter, stumble or crash in the weeks since I have it. The phone's feel and build quality is not high level, but acceptable. It is sure adequate for the money. The device is simple and has what it needs for convenient usage. To my opinion it is the best mobile I could get at this price point at this time. I paid USD 135 for the 4 Gb. For comparison, my wife has a Nokia in the same price range. The screen is better and the device is sturdier, is better haptically feel. But the battery life is like 1 day only, and the SOC is slower. My own Xiaomi is technically better, but does not work as solid as the above two.
buy atleast a midrange trust me, these budget phones will last you 6 months before making it nearly unusable, midrange nowadays beat some flagships and last many years and are supported for updates for many years aswell

I just bought the galaxy A04s like a month ago and it's the best phone I've had (I'm a budget buyer) and I like the 50mp camera and 10x zoo on 12mp camera mode but no night mode unfortunately but I'd like a taste of a mid tier or flagship phone one day. This phone ao5s seems ok 👍

Got mine the exact same model, it's not designed specifically for gaming but for an average use, it's been giving a satisfying experience, it has a good performance for a budget phone of samsung
I need a new phone and this one is just great for a budget phone. Too bad it's not available in Canada yet and don't know when it's coming out. Gonna have to get the A14 4G for now.
I couldn't help but notice you mention dark mode benefits battery life, but that only applies to OLED or mini LED displays. I believe plain white color actually draws less power on LCD. Therefore I'm curious to see the new A15, which is the first A10 series phone that will feature an OLED display.

Correction on your dark mode comment. In this phone it doesn't help with battery life as it uses a PLS LCD. This type of screen can't turn off its pixels like an OLED can. Only an OLED really benefits from a dark screen as it literally turns off pixels to show true black.
Wait until this guy gets a hold of Chinese budget phones. For the majority of the people outside of the NorthWest, emmc storage is actually an uncommon feature on budget devices. Most nowadays have UFS 2.1 up to 3.1 in some cases. and AMOLED panels with high refresh rates are becoming more and more common. You'd be surprised to see just how good most budget smarphones are in comparison to Samsung's own line-up. Go take a look at the Techno 20 pro or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13, for example.
Thank you for storage test. It means it have UFS 2.1 or UFS 2.2. A lot of sites says that it have eMMC type of storage. But it have much better - UFS 2.1-2.2

How can a budget phone be considered e-waaste if I can keep it arround just for calls, g.maps and browser scrolling for 4~5years? people should be reminded not everyone needs to keep the best phone characteristics possible to their budget all the time, therefore these could last as long as premium phones if they have all you really need. P.S.: thanks for reviewing this phone as something that will fit someone's needs, instead of making a "it's really bad, but then it's cheap, so it will do if you don't want to spend money" kind of review.

Tough choice, but I would go for the A14 5G. It will be slighty faster than A05s in some cases. A14 5G will also receive more software updates than A23. 👍

As an iPhone user I needed a second phone for work so I got this one yesterdey and man oh man. Its a grate option if you need a phone for WhatsApp bussines and meta bussines suite. Sooo economic and with great battery life

Not wrong. It's a massive upgrade. The Exynos in the A04s shouldn't have even been anywhere near a phone.
Put the refresh rate down to 60HZ, and choose the 6GB version.

A04s completely normal, especially when lowest model is 32 GB only and 3 GB RAM. My phone turns in a week one year.
I got a S23 Ultra last week & at over $2000AUD, there was no wall adaptor either...
