- This video was filmed just after all county parks were closed in the RGV. So me and a couple of buddies decided to walk two miles from the closest city access all the way to the jetties. It was definitely worth the walk as the fishing was great and there almost nobody on the jetties. Enjoy the video and be sure to subscribe for more videos.

Why'd you walk so far?? Jetties are in Isla Blanca park. Doesn't cost that much to get in. Or did you go to east cut? Oh wait I'm an idiot should have read the description first haha

I didn’t get to fish, I didn’t bring the right weights and I was at Access 6. Just chilled with the family. I went to arroyo on Thursday and had a good day I’ll be posting the video on my channel in a few days.

I dont remember bro but it was the first city beach access. If you google SPI city beach access you will find them, and they are free. 2 miles away from the jetties.

Tips for the first time pier fishing?
It really depends where you are pier fishing at but at least for me in Texas I would say.
1. Use the tide tables (tides4fishing.com)
2. Use the solunar chart (tides4fishing.com)
3. Use the best bait possible (live mullet/live shrimp/live croaker).
You are naturally at a disadvantage when pier fishing thats why I try to use live bait as opposed to artificial lures. I try to fish an outgoing or incoming tide. I prefer night fishing, early morning, or evening. I hate fishing in the middle of the day. I have never had much success in the middle of the day.

What else can you catch on those jetties??
Easily reds, drums, and sheep. Have to know your setup if you want to catch other sport fish.

Where are the jetties located?
Ask for Isla Blanca Beach on SPI. There should be a gated entrance you have to pay.
What line do you have on there?
Popping cork with 3ft of 20lb flourocarbon
