    Great Video, I've started to only bring one lens while traveling. (Sigma Art 35). I've never regretted it or looked back.

    My minimalistic kit is a d750 and the 24-70 2.8. I don't know if I could live with just a 50mm. At least not on an important trip.

      Totally understandable. The 24-70/2.8 is a classic all-in-one zoom that's a great choice for travel. I personally am finding it challenging to limit myself to just a 50mm but it's refreshing to make successful shots with it. I've had fun making a lot of panoramas so far.

      Lonely Speck true. Definitely a nice challenge and lighter gear is always a plus.

      I wish the Canon 50mm f/1.4 didn't suck so bad. Amazingly bad coma.

    Hi, how about the Handphone holder clamped on to the L plate of your camera? (In the still image appear on 5:19). Am considering having a handphone as a "flipped“ LCD on 5DM4. :D :D

    Great video Ian! I was wondering if you could elaborate on how you get theft insurance for your trips for your gear. Ive looked into this before but have been unsuccessful in finding insurance that would cover theft of gear

      Ash Hashemi hill and usher insurance covers theft, including worldwide coverage for most locations.

    If you're coming to Wales, go to Cwmystwyth or the Elan Valley, or maybe Aberporth. Forget about the Brecon Beacons, the skies aren't very dark in comparison. And let me know if you do, I'd really love to shoot with you! My Instagram and facebook is @harryjamesphotographer if you want to see my stuff!!

    May I ask what travel insurance you use?

    • @LonelySpeck
      @LonelySpeck  7 лет назад +2

      Ki Rin we typically buy a travel health insurance plan through ehealthinsurance.com. Depending on your destinations, different plans may be more appropriate. Most of the ones offered also provide additional trip protections like baggage loss, theft, etc. Also... check your credit card terms and benefits: they often include travel protection for travel bookings made with the card.

      Thanks! I appreciate that. I'm going to be travelling indefinitely, so I've been wondering what the best way to go is with insurance, banking, etc.

    Time Machine is not reliable when drive is slowly dying. It stops to backup corrupted files and delete previous copies of them. Stupidest backup strategy.
