The definition of those terms didn't change until the late 80s when the Rolling 60s and 83s made them into Crip alliances. But prior to that, it was just the slang of the day to name your gangs that.

Yup I lived on the corner of 25th and Hoover back in the early sixties, then over on Oak St. across from Norwood Elementary School. I don't remember what Chicano Gang was there at the time, because I was too young to understand the gang life, but Chicano's were thick in that hood even back then. But as I got older and started getting around I saw the dividing lines in the hoods and some of the sets that coexisted. That was 1974 to 1976.

This is Hoover Park Family, not the actual Hoover crips/criminals.
Two totally different areas of Los Angeles. The Hoover Crips were mainly concentrated in Central & South Central areas, along Hoover Street, in Los Angeles. Hoover Family were further North, or the Northern section of Los Angeles, along Hoover Street & Adams, Washington, and etc...😎😎😎
@thegodinhere Hey Homes. The part of Hoover St. where Hoover Park Recreational Center is located is the hood where Hoover Park Family Brims and Rolling 20's are parallel. Keep in mind Hoover Park Family Brims no longer exist, most of those guys went to Rolling 20's. Hoover Crips are further down south on Hoover St. The Hoover's.

@@Takisoss not sure about that there. I missed out on a lot of street action after enlisting in the Marines in 1976. When I came back in '82 it was a whole different world. Didn't know too much about the Hoover Crips and only heard about them because of a Homie I met in the Marines who was from 8 Tray Crips. Growing up in L.A., I lived in Echo Park, West Adams (what was Blood Alley), Arlington Heights and Midtown so I never went down that far south on Hoover Street to where the Hoover Crips are from.
