Hey, thanks for the video.. I'm a pool professional and appreciate you showing this :) And for the trolls out there preaching safety, he did it just fine, no need for a mask, it's a chlorine wash not an acid wash.
@@samoea19 sorry but you wrong. When sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine) is dissolved in water it turns to hypochlorous acid which is a weak acid that is still a sanitizer. In fact when salt water is passed thru an electric current it makes hypochlorous acid to sanitize your salt water pool. Hydrochloric acid has a ph of approx. 3. It will not sanitize your pool.
dude, you have on gloves & boots...what about more important than hands & feet...your eyes!!! probably have been doing this for years & never once has something splashed into your eyes, but it is better to be safe than sorry
David Wise I need help lol.. I've been using a half chlorine, half water mix as shown. An it's NOT removing the green staining or seemingly melting away as it is in this video. An I've been scrubbing it WHILE I've been applying the chlorine. Not sure what should do, I suppose I can try using the chlorine straight and grab singe more extra if I need. Was trying to figure out, how to cut an mix the muriatic acid and hopefully that will do the trick.
KosukiFire stop it! Hes a grown man hes a professional and he dousnt some osha wanna b pointing out stupid criticisms..instead compliment on how well he showed the steps to clean a pool.
A pump sprayer would have done great work spreading the chlorine a broader area thats what I use at work to clean pools with after that a hose would make quick work rinsing everything down Edit: great job regardless :)
When acid washing a pool, do small sections at a time - the acid should be applied, scrubbed and rinsed off in under 1 minute - or you are doing damage to the plaster. The tile section should be acid washed and cleaned before the pool was drained.
@@SynergyAVE Nice, I shoulda figured based on the algea lol. Looks good, this video helped me a lot before i starting doing chlorine/acid washes, thanks for posting it.
It's not being a "hater" to suggest the guy wear appropriate protective gear. If he's demonstrating how people should do it, and esp since he's a commercial company, that kind of info is vital. Also, what's the ratio of chlorene to water you're using? And where's this acid wash video you mention is "next"?
agree with the safety gear, at least put some eye protection on, and when mixing chemicals with water, (anything not just chlorine), you never add the water to the chemical, you always add the chemical to the water.
With how fast that’s killing the green that is STRONG mixes. Not surprised he coughs. I know there has already been lots of comments regarding PPE so I won’t add to that but this is a lesson how not to clean a pool 🙈 this is a lesson on how to hurt yourself
Hi, we love your video. With your permission, we'd like to post this on our social media pages and credit you / link your account. Please let me know. Thanks.
I guess he didn't feel like mixing the chemicals into the water, so he used the pressure of the water to mix while adding it, or atleast it's an added benefit
Nice job killing the algae. I know you’ve been doing this for a long time most likely. However, in a how to video, you need to wear safety equipment man. Goggles and a respiratory device. Chlorine gas in a pool is no joke.
If he was me, would use a 300 gallon tank to premix and place at edge on shallow end and refill a 3 - 5 gallon pump sprayer instead of a 1 - 2 gallon garden watering jug, using a spigot at the base of the premix tank, instead of how he was doing it wasting time. And I would be wearing a face mask and respirator due to my disliking of the smell of chlorine for more than ten seconds to a minute. This is why so many are converting to or going the way of a natural swimming pool/pond with fresh water and lots of plants to not have to deal with and pay for this type of mess and the chemical treatments.
Water first, chemicals after the water. Agree mask and eyewear. I have been doing acid washes for years. Easier if you have a helper, where one pours from top down or with a chemical sprayer and other scrubs and cleans off with water. But, over the years each in their own ways - just take precaution. Recommend hiring a professional who has access to quality chems not box retailer chems. Chlorine Wash to remove debris and dried algae, Acid Wash to whiten, brighten and remove most stains.

I turned this video off as soon as he started. No eye protection with any type of chemicals is really dumb. I don't care how long he's been doing this. Anything can happen.

Seriously unprofessional video, you say nothing about what you're using or the ratio and no commentary at all, lol. Also irresponsible not using anything to protect your face!
contrary to the trolls here I really appreciate your putting this together. I am actually doing this today and you have been a big help. Thank you.
Hey
one tip. if you rinse pool as it drains you get most of the crap off that way. tougher to get off after it dries. have done inground pools for 20 yrs.

Actually chlorine plus water =hydrochloric acid. I'm not a pool professional but I did have basic college chemistry.
Ever heard of these important organs called EYES?

Water plus chlorine = hydrochloric acid???? What college did you go to?
wouldnt it be easier to use a garden pressure sprayer to spray the chlorine around the pool???
wow, awesome video that explains literally nothing about the process of chlorine washing the pool. thanks!
Richard Marcil all you have to do is pour the damn chlorine.
Call me Sarge I believe he's talking about the chemical reaction behind it.
How to loose your eyesight while not wearing safety glasses! Why not just pour from standing at edge and pouring down sides?? Just saying...
Richard Marcil *they’re
What made you think he was gonna explain anything?

Dude, you took the words out of my mouth. That is exactly what I thought instantly upon starting this video!
On point !
welcome to america xD
Not to mention you fill with water BEFORE the chemical, to prevent splashing. Every chemistry professor I’ve ever had weeps.
Dakota Ferrel my thoughts exactly!
I did pure chl no water. It did the trick. Got a wore brush and scrubbed the crap outta the left over algea. Good video

Holy crap that's friggin amazing
I think i would pour from the top save on stretching?
What is the mix concentrate?
Very satisfying
It's crazy to see that melt before your eyes
what psi was your pressure washer and what kind of chlorine did you use?? Great video!!!
6 yrs later, I'm still searching for the answer. These videos are awful with the product informations.

What type of pump sprayer do you use?
Did you ever post an acid wash follow up video, I didn't see our notice one.
Just curious though..
you made hard work of that Mann

i wouldnt acid wash the tile, it doesnt do a whole lot and it can eat away at the grout
This is a chlorine wash

I am smelling chlorine through the phone
You guys a bunch a p*ssies, I did this to my pool 2 times with rubber gloves and flip flops, everything’s just fine.
Could you not use a system like a garden spray to apply the bleaching process?
lil brush action might help some..
What is her using to clean the pool what chemicals

I just saw a pressure washer on sale for 79.
"Hi. I now have the lung capacity of a squirrel, but my doctor says I can keep doing this without a respirator for at least another 2-3 years." 😃👍🏻
people must stop saying bad words espesially you brian
I love all the haters that think he’s Using Acid. Chlorine wash is a simple process. I do agree that safety glasses should be worn though. 👍
no goggles? superman eyes!
Cool interesting video
Why use a watering can when you can use a pump sprayer?
Some body tell him about power washers and he should have his eyes covered.
And where pray tell does the chlorine go afterwards? In to the water system?
Woulsnt pressure washing it so the same thing.
How much would you charge for a pool like that or what is YOUR price ranges?
Dude, did it just disappear suddenly?
would this method work on a tiled pool?
No pressure washing? :'(
Nice cleaning - but did i see him add water to chemicals???? - always add chems to h20.
My first thought too!!!
I guess he didn't feel like mixing the chemicals into the water, so he used the pressure of the water to mix while adding it, or atleast it's an added benefit
Why have gloves and boots but no respirator or saftey goggles.
Strangely satisfied
I'd get one of those chemical sprayers and fill that up, pump it up and off i go. save me filling that thing back up 100 times.
He didn't clean the pool he just bleached it and that is not cleaning the stains and algae come back in an hour
future soldier94 He did mention there are other parts after chlorine washing.
This is part 1. He split it into 3 videos b. Why don't you try listening?
Athena Where's the other videos then? I can't seem to find it.
Bleach kills algae
bullshit...bleach kills algae. Chlorine is many many times stronger than household bleach. I'm surprised the guy can breath in there...
Can't you get a power washer to do this? It would be quicker
I wanna skate in that pool
That probably smells nice

Where's the acid wash video?

We use bleach in our domestic settings. He might be working on his own property hence the lack of protection.

Sippin’ on straight chlorine
unsafe...
Wear GOGGLES!!
Russ Ferris he's fine its not acid. You get in pools with chlorine in it so he's fine
never add water into chemical. you add chemical into water
Where are the safety goggles and mask it would be so easy for the bleach to splash in the eye and those fumes are bad on the lungs
sIPPIN ON STRAIGHT
Chlorine!!!bad for lungs when breathing it too much...you must get a facemask dude...better to be safe than sorry...

Downstream
no protection on your eyes. not, good !!
