The brutality revealed at Abu Ghraib was a turning point for me.
But it turns out that such uncivilised behaviour was not restricted to the USA. The military coup in Brazil in 1964 was supported by both UK and USA. It is now clear that the UK taught some of the torture methods used in Northern Ireland to the Brazilian junta. They called it the "English system".
This investigation should make every UK citizen deeply ashamed.
