Wim Hof Method for 60 Days | My Benefits and the Science

  • I practiced the wim hof breathing technique for the last 60 days consecutively and noticed a major improvement in my endurance, focus, and mood. I had already been a believer in the power of deep breathing, having come from a tradition of practicing pranayama. However, the Wim Hof Method is a unique combination of breathing exercises, mindset training, cold exposure that I feel could be especially beneficial to anyone looking to enhance their perception.

Things i have learnt from my experience of wim hof:
    1. Helps me focus on assignments/get motivated to do assignments
    2. It calms my stress levels and allows the tension in my chest to dissolve
    3. It regulates my body temperature. So before wim hof i may feel a bit sluggish or demotivated because of the cold and i would rather wrap myself in a blanket and watch netflix. After wimhof, i feel more motivated to carry on my day even if i feel cold.
    4. Lifts my mood and resets my concentration.
    5. Allows me to sleep better at night.

@@apc4205 it really is amazing for panic disorder. I started having panics about 2 months ago, learned Wim hof method (it is a little scary at first) and now I don’t have panics anymore. Not only does is it good to lower your anxiety, I also did the breathing during the beginning of a panic attack and I was out of the attack within 1 round of breathing (just a few minutes.). Definitely give it a shot… panic disorder is horrible to live with. This is definitely worth trying.

hey Sinbad - great video as always. Here's a magic pranayama tip I learned - if one nostril is ever plugged when you want to do pranayama or other breathwork, take a rolled up towel and wedge it under the armpit and queeze down with your bicep to hold hit, on the armpit on the opposite site of the plugged nostril. Like magic, air will flow freely through your nostril. This is great for anuloma viloma.

But today, and recently, I've been getting hit by the mid-day slump. I did the breathing today and lo and behold, I was instantly reinvigorated. I'll have to remember to use this throughout the day as needed. Keep em coming man.

@@CaptainSinbad Nikhil. Why cant you take up any martial arts class over there in addition to acting. You can go in the weekends if you are free. I go to rock climbing on the weekends. 45 minutes vertical climb or 45 minutes horizontal climb. I think you can take up Kung Fu or Muay Thai or even Western Boxing. They will make you more spiritually grounded. I was not into sports while growing up. But I just plunged into it. Do you know why I do?Just to make myself better everyday. I wanna grow more everyday. Rock climbing helps you in facing fear of heights. Muay Thai is more of a mental game same thing applies to Kung Fu, Aikado, BJJ. BJJ is very famous in the US. In India it is Kushti(Wrestling). You might be aware of it as you are basically from New Delhi. Take up BJJ. It will instill more discipline in you. Just keep going. Anyway you have a car. Go learn BJJ. Kick some ass, grapple, lock. Learn more of it. It develops your character. Or you can get into Tennis, Swimming or any sport you want to. They say "You will know a person's character if you play golf with him".Not like that. You can play any sport you want to and build up your character. One more thing. You will be more interesting. I do the Wim Hof method too Nikhil. Its truly profound how much your body can do. I think in most of the gyms in US rock climbing is imbibed within the gym.But in India we need to take up a separate class for that. In rock climbing its you versus you. You need to climb the rock and complete the vertical climb. Sooo you are 25.And you are on NoFap so you are bustling and buzzing with energy. You can try out different things. Have fun. Thank You

@@CaptainSinbad I too am on it. I am a huge proponent of the belief that our food choices impacts our being & behavior. It would be of great help if you make a video educating on High Vibrational सात्विक( Saatvik) foods that nourish our body/mind and curb our तामसिक ( Tamsik) tendencies. Man, Appreciate the Altruistic thought & effort you put into your videos.

You do a great presentation. I have a question, please? I just started this today. I am going on 81 Nd that may be an issue. But I would like some honest feedback, I am unable, so far, after finishing a round of thirty breaths to hold more than about 50% as long without breathing. Is that a concentration issue, or what, in your opinion? Thank you.

I've been meditating for a long time. Just started Wim Hoff, cold shower then meditation. Perfect start to morning on this lock down. I'm only few days in incorporating wim hoff. But feel energised thus far

It’s funny you mention the Pranayama because of this story.
A New York Times journalist who wrote about fake “gurus” in India went to “expose” Wim Hof in Poland and ended up becoming his student.

Actually that's false. It turns out that stress is good, and the thing that actually makes stress harmful is the belief that stress is harmful. www.ted.com/talks/kelly_mcgonigal_how_to_make_stress_your_friend/up-next#t-144851
Watch this ted talk to enlightenment you on this subject. Have a nice day. :)
