Hey uh btw there’s this thing we’ve learnt about at school. Acids are supposed to be sour right? If the microbes turn milk to the sour stuff is it because they break protein down into amino acids?
I really love the new intro! Just one little tip? Maybe make the video title, at the end of the intro, a bit darker, since it’s relatively hard to see. At least on my eyesss. Otherwise the video was very well made and you explained the process quite well!
Maybe this is just me but your intro at 0:37 until 0:46 reminds me real crime documentary shows on Crime+Investigation channel. Good video as always, I wish your channel have 1M subs in the future because you deserved it!😊
Probably the same as milk, it has yeast which may serve as food for bacteria, but this is just a guess. Then again, surely the microbes wouldn't survive in the alcohol?
I enjoyed the presentation style of this this video, but it have several problems in it: 1. You mentioned water activity for milk, but failed to mention water activity for wine which is between 0.86-0.96 - lower than milk, but not that significantly. 2. You also mentioned lactose is the main sugar in milk, which is really easy to break down, yes, but grape juice(that wine is made from) has even bigger percentage of sugars in it and it's mainly glucose and fructose, which are even easier to break down, since both are monosugars already. But you failed to explain why one goes bad and the other ferments(the yeast vs microbes explanation is invalid see pt. 5) 3. You mentioned the presence of Lactobacillus as a reason for sourness, but there are literally over 200 species of Lactobacillus known to science which lead me to: 4. Some of the Lactobacillus species are the reason for milk to be able to be converted into cheeses and other things like yogurt. In the creation of yogurt even takes part a type of bacteria - Streptococcus thermophilus. 5. Although not said explicitly, you suggested that microbes spoils milk, but on the contrary yest ferments juice into wine. But the problem is that yest is just a term for a collection of microbes - for single-cell fungi to be precise. 6. At 3:39 you said "Ethanol in wine literally kills all the microbes", but only ~13% and at max 20% ethanol solution is not nearly enough to kill the majority of microbes. Later in the video you literally contradicted yourself by stating that wine indeed can go bad. And it's not only the oxidation, vinegar can be produced from wine by the acetic acid bacteria. So In conclusion I would say that a reasonable amount of effort and research was put in this video, but not enough. Due to that a myriad of wrong conclusions can be drawn. I'm not a professional chemist, but my conclusion will be more that wine have a certain chemical composition (alcohol solution, higher acidity, low sugars, etc.) that development of anaerobic microorganisms is not really a thing. Because anaerobic microbes are surely the main culprits at this point, because milk in oxygen-free environment still spoils, unlike wine. And on the other side - once wine is opened it can as easily go bad(especially when left in warm places) due to the acetic acid fermentation. Edit - I meant to mention this earlier, but the standard percentile alcohol solution(be it ethanol or isopropyl alcohol) for disinfectants is between 65% and 70% depending on if it is for hand-sanitiser or surfaces disinfectant. Which is sometimes more than 4 times the amount of alcohol in the wine.
This is because wine typically doesn’t spoil as milk does. Wine ferments - it’s useful for humans after spoiling (correctly and under the right conditions of course) . Milk spoils or rots - it’s bad for humans after spoiling.
Suggestion try adding some tags and focus on SEO may be the youtube overlords willl bless you with a creator on the rise push . also try testing and adding a little note pad of words that are trending and can be relevant to the topic at hand and tag them in the bottom of the youtube description or in a comment.
Maybe you don't have your fridge turned down cold enough, milk here usually lasts a good two weeks or so. The carton I bought last week has an expiry of June 29. You can often get away with drinking milk after the expiry too, as long as it doesn't smell funny and hasn't curdled. You'll notice the off taste if it's too far gone, and even that won't make you sick if it's just turned.
When milk spoils you end up with yogurt. When yogurt spoils you end up with cheese. When cheese spoils you end up with...? On another note, where do you get all these amazing "videos" like people drinking wine or a man walking in front of dozens of wine barrels? Are these free stock videos or what?
The sudden diversion towards "comedy" at the end was really off-putting. You're not a comedian and I doubt anyone is here for the jokes. So please reconsider. Otherwise great video. Very informative while also a bit shallow.

the last bit of the video is really nice
If the last bottle has gone bad the goal should not be to stop wine-ing but to redouble the efforts so it won't happen again!
Curious, why does beer also go bad easily?
