Hi Jessica, I'm an international follower, greetings from Peru! I'm 18 years old and due to my parent's illness, I couldn't enter university. I am trying to learn by myself and I am dreaming of one day working as a full-stack developer. This video really impressed me. Now I truly believe one day I will be able to do that. I just turned 40, and am starting to learn HTML/CSS. I'm wanting to have a skill that will get me hired somewhere other than a fast food or factory job. I have been scared to learn, because of the 'imposter syndrome' thing you're talking about. But I'm going to keep learning, and get to Javascript and others after HTML/CSS. Thank you for posting a video like this. Also, love the animations.

    Wow, that awesome animation!
I really can relate to your final take aways. After quitting my job as an elementary teacher, I'm about to study again in a thing called "dual-study" (not sure if this is a thing outside of Germany) were I'm part time doing my bachelor degree and part time working for a company, getting work experience (and getting paid a bit).
Taking longer for tasks is completely normal and nobody knows everything (something everyone expected otherwise in my previous job). I can't speak for others, but my boss is very understanding in that matter but also drives me to find out things myself instead of asking, even if it takes 3 times longer.
After 3 years in I think I'm out of the valley of despair, learning new techniques really fast.
People said I can't start out with programming that late, (I'm 28 now), but at my campus, there's almost half of the people my age or older that changed field like me. That really boosted my confidence.

I only stay at home and i decided to learn to code because I always liked it . Even though at this point i feel no more than a disappointment , good for nothing, a pessimistic existence , i was stuck with this idea that it's just pointless in fighting against this uncertain reality where everything is nothing but a gamble against ur goals , there's no gurantee to anything even if u have ur 100% , it all comes down to luck.irrespective of that idea i still continued to code . I was jst scrolling through RUclips today and found ur video and this made me so much happy !that i can't express it , u hav no idea when the last time i felt so much lighter and happy , i was unable to cry even tho I wanted to , i just want to thank you sooo sooo sooo much for making this video . This gives me some hope. Started applying to jobs after a year of studying. Up to HTML, CSS, Git, React, & now playing with a lot of new fun stuff like NextJS, Axios etc. Made half a dozen projects on my GitHub. Sooooo many rejection letters, a couple phone calls quickly ended due to a lack of experience. Hoping someone in this industry lets me interview at some point haha.

I used to love making HTML pages as a kid too. After I graduated high school I couldn't major in computer science because I didn't have the required GPA, instead, I did engineering which is a field that's close to CS. Now that I finished 5 years of university and went through this year's circumstances, I just feel like I have to do something that I really love, I wouldn't say that I didn't like everything I did in university but I was just not happy... Now I find myself self-learning web development and I plan to do a master's degree abroad in computer science. Thank you for this video it was so inspiring and I wish everybody to find their passion and be happy in life. Peace.

as someone who was very motivated in almost into 2023 & have been in the veterinary industry for 3 years now & have been considering leaving the industry to go into tech, this definitely motivates me. I’ve thought about going to back to school to at least a degree or certificatation in Tech or Computer Science, but most of them were so expensive that I couldn’t afford it, so I decided to just become self taught, I am currently learning HTML and CSS in my days off from work, it’s hard but easy cause I did learn it from the beginning when I first start becoming self taught. So thank you for this video, as a fellow self taught, this is very helpful 💯🙌🏽

I feel like crying but no. I can relate to this at least at the part when you were still learning to code. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in information technology. I was so lazy to study after graduation I didn't code for one year and 8 months. After realizing how bad it is being broke, I worked as a customer care rep and I still am today. I've been relearning everything again since June up until now. I still get lazy sometimes. I'm thinking of resigning my Job once I feel comfortable doing small website on my own and get a Job as a web developer or front end dev. This was video was inspiring for me. Thank you
