His story reminds me of the show "teacher's pet". It was about a talking dog that REALLY just wanted to go to school with his owner, so he dressed up like a student and walked on two feet and just pretended to be a human. I don't remember a lot of details about it, but I know there was a movie and I know it was at least on Disney channel

unironically, I think Rachel is like top 10 of any of the people that appeared on the show, and probably above almost all of the main try guys except for like… eugine and maybe keith in my opinion
This is 100% Keith's challenge just because of his genuine interest in puppetry. You can see how in tune he is to the judges comments

I love that Keith's comment about going to his 3rd backup was meant like jokingly, but actually it's very reassuring! Look at how successful and well-liked he is in his fields, and he didn't Need to go to a big fancy school to reach that :)
It makes me feel very seen. I was accepted into most of the schools I applied to, but I was only able to afford one of my backups (which is a state school). STATE SCHOOLS ARE VAILD!!

I think it was a joke more because Ned went to Yale, and Keith was being like 'not me, I went to my third back up'. Not a joke to make it seem 'less than' if you didn't (get to) go to your first or even second choice school.

Keith has an extremely valid point about the fact that half the time in these "without x" videos they're not even given the tools they need to be able to do the thing LOL.
yeah that's one of my least favorite trends with these without instructions/a recipe videos is that like... they're almost set up to fail in a way? so all their work might fail at a moment's notice :(

this is one of my least favourite things about youtubers trying stuff they always give them crappy equipment and tools
But also they aren’t given the proper time. The equipment they have makes sense for the fact that they have a fraction of the time it would take to make the thing. I think it’s an issue that the judges act like they should have other materials then they do, but I think that not giving specific equipment tends not to be an issue in most of the cases.
Also, take the pants episode, they did have the equipment to sew but many decided to hot glue anyways due to time.
Usually they get the real thing, just don't use it. This time they can't because of safety issues
I really wish they would have a separate series where they had a pro come in and make one of the guys ideas but like good. It be cool to see big booty Joe but done with someone that knows what they are doing

In a lot of these (and without a recipe, too) one of the judges who does that thing professionally will say "wow, i've never heard of anything like that" and it would be really cool for these super creative and cool concepts to be executed really well

I actually went to my third back up (Furman, USC and CSU were 1st choice, 1st and 2nd backup)- I ended up going to the College of Charleston and it was the best possible spot for me. Third backup crew! 🤣👏

One of my fave parts is when Keith was listening so intently to Victor’s feedback like he was absorbing it to go home and make his puppet better. I also would have lost it if he didn’t win. 😂
I love how Keith is genuinely taking the constructive criticism of his puppet (30:52) and is focused on improving. He said that he is the most experience with puppets and his concentration on the judges words proves that puppetry is something he’d like to make a bigger thing or just a more refined form of expression for him.
But also when Jay loses his eyes 😂. I was rolling. This episode was really funny and entertaining. Keep up the great work try guys!

Madison's run down on how to make a puppet has me rummaging through the craft cabinet. Can you perhaps hand sew instead of using ...barge? I know it'd change the structure, but I'm looking to use what I got (I have fabric hot glue as well, but I'm not a hot-glue expert).
Hi! You can make a puppet out of anything! The watcher puppets are all cardboard based and I used hot glue with my very first puppet. You definitely do not need barge! Follow your inspo deep into that craft cabinet and use what you got 🧶✂️📦

There's this channel called Puppet Nerd that makes puppet making tutorials. From just a quick search he has made so many puppets in different of ways. So maybe you can browse his channel to see if you can find what you need!

If you're going to use foam though, I'd caution against sewing it together, just because the thread will rip the foam apart.
