Honestly Kirsty it looks fantastic but I wouldn't expect any less from you and you wouldn't accept anything less. You are a perfectionist and will do everything to that standard. The mortise and tenon looked great too lots of hard work but oh so worth it. Look forward to when you get your new window in its going to make a huge difference for you 😊
The last shot of you with the window in the backgroud makes me so proud of you! I followed along with each and every piece, small and large, heavy and "light". The four study frames looked so impossible to work with. They gave me the most worry. And there they firmly stand! All done by patient, determined, ingenious YOU! I know there is more to do, but CONGRATULATIONS are in order. Well done! May God bless you! Can't wait to see you safe and warm for Winter and with a beautiful view! I bet the Mikey and Larry take over the wide window sill, though!
I was also a bit worried about those side and top pieces of stone but they're in there firmly now and it all seems secure. I'm very excited to get the window in and call this done! 😀
Have you thought about selling your snail logo as stickers or decals? I am really inspired by the concept of slow steady achievements. I bought a small old caravan and despite lots of calls from friends and rellies to do long trips around Australia, I’m taking my time doing small local trips to slowly get used to how it works and where everything is. I’d love to have a snail sticker for my van ❤
I have! But first I want to get more colour into the logo and then I need to figure out which company to use for this. It'll be a rainy day activity, hopefully sometime soon. 🙂
Love progress on your window. You are very particular about making things exactly as you envision. Thanks for taking us along for the process. Things are looking awesome.
Oh my goodness, the window is looking great. I’ve been waiting for you to take this on. I hope that all that light into your cozy abode will add so much to your life.
you can be proud of yourself and I love to see you being amazed by your accomplishments. That smile on your face 😀. Hope the window guy watches your channel 😅
All makes sense now 😊. The window space and pointing looks pretty awesome!! I love seeing how you put so much detail/care into the repairs you do. "do it once & omce is enough' 😊 agree about the plexiglass or even plastic sheeting stapled on a wooden frame maube enough to keep rain out until we wooden window placed. Brillant!! 😊
Nice mortice and tenon work! Go to a salvage store and see if you can get a large plexiglass panel to cover the whole window while you wait. Happy Saturday from Mexico.
One of the frustrations of living in Central Portugal is that the local culture values their used items. Good for the environment but difficult for newbys on a budget. Salvage on the secondary market is limited in both variety and discounted price. Due to the sparse population distribution, the fuel cost for the distance you often travel for picking up the item is exceeded by the price of the item. It is very difficult to "out-frugal"the Portuguese! I have been shocked to learn that new people to Portugal like me have to buy used shipping pallets because the sources of "free stuff" and construction "trash" are not obvious.
@@cathythomas2692 It's the same here in Mexico. Used things retain their value to a high degree. There are salvage places because of the denser population here, but they're found in the tent markets or sketchy areas.
Kirsty you have done a fantastic job of that window. It's looking like it could of been an original window opening from when it was first built. Well done you, you should be proud of yourself. 😊❤
Brilliant work on the window framing. When the window itself is in and pointing of the remaining front of house is finished, it will truly look amazing.
Wow - that looks like a genuine old stone window opening, like it was put in 100 years ago by someone who knew what they were doing (instead of having been put in just now by someone who knew what they were doing 🙂). Your little cottage/tiny home is going to be really lovely.
👏👏👏 you handled this window project like a pro! Good for you Kirsty. It looks fabulous! So excited to see the window installed and to see you enjoying the window. Take care! ❤️😊
What beautiful work Kirtsy. I think you should be very proud of yourself, learning new skills to finish your projects and doing such a nice job. It nakes your house look really cute and welcoming. You must be so happy to see your hard work turning your dream into reality.
I love the way the wall is coming along around the window, it looks very good. Perhaps you could make temporary shutters or something similar that would keep out rain but you could open them when you want some extra light in the house.
Thanks! I think making temp shutters would be tricky so I’ll probably wait until I’m ready for the real thing… but once I get this wooden box fastened in, I’ll think about a better solution while I wait for the window.
Absolutely fabulous, you have done a good job, it looks great, in my opinion this is the best project you have done. It transforms the external appearance for the better and is sympathetic to the character of the vernacular, it will transform your internal space likewise. If you have not specified the joiner to include a fly screen I would wish to ensure that your window design will accommodate a fly screen, if you later choose to add one.
Thanks! Ya I’m so happy with it so far and it’s a huge difference to the inside. I forgot to mention that… I asked for a quote with a screen. Let’s see what he comes up with!
Hi Kirsty, I am so happy to hear those words of pride!! What an amazing job. You did it and did it beautifully, as always. As someone said below, you rock!! Have a great week! Angela
Great job Kirsty on all aspects of the window. What I like the most is the nice big size of it. Many windows in country stone houses are very small. I think that's cause most were once agricultural barns, not requiring much light.💗👍😊🇨🇦
I bet your mam and dad are delighted with your amazing work on the window. I can't wait fpr the work she'd to go ahead so you can clear that mezzanine with all that messy wood and have a pure Zen like environment you truly deserve well done
Wow Kirsty, your window hole looks amazing! Give yourself a huge pat on the back for knowing what you want, and sticking to it! The end result must bring you so much satisfaction! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If plexiglass is hard to come by, how about wrapping the tarp or some clear plastic around the wooden window frame to keep the rain out? Plastic may be thinner than the tarp so might work better. I’m sure you will figure it out.
You really did a great job on that window. I know you said you were scared BUT you persevered and you did it. You are very capable and that is really nice to see. I am very proud of you. You can do so m7ch to your place and I look forward to seeing the transformation. Yes you take your time sometimes to long for me but you make progress eventually and see things through. Hey you gotta go at your own pace. If I had to work in that heat over there I get it. I live in South Carolina which is so hot May to now and I manage but it's like 90 and humid everyday here. I moved from upstate new york over two years ago, and i'm not one for the heat. But I got tired of six months of winter in new york. So I pay the price in either place, but you can spend more time outdoors in south carolina for sure! I hope he gets your window done soon.
Looking great. 😊👍. Dodgy gloves indeed. I was thinking that in a couple of shots…not sure what they are offering in terms of protection. Hoping your superglued shoes keep going for you. I thought I noticed on a previous video that one was flapping!😉. Enjoy your Friday cocktails with friends.
You should be so proud Kirsty it’s amazing❤
I am, thanks!
You bet it looks cool, Kirsty. It's beautiful. :)
Thanks!
You are one talented young lady.

Thanks so much, glad to hear that!
Window is looking awesome!
Thanks!
Well done. you are on a roll. Thinking of replacing the snail with a Hare by the looks of it at this speed.
Haha, I'm not sure about that but it's amazing how the upcoming rain and cold can be a motivator!
Honestly Kirsty it looks fantastic but I wouldn't expect any less from you and you wouldn't accept anything less. You are a perfectionist and will do everything to that standard.
The mortise and tenon looked great too lots of hard work but oh so worth it.
Look forward to when you get your new window in its going to make a huge difference for you 😊
You have good ideas for coping with perfectionism.
Thanks so much! Ya in this case I think patience has paid off along with really enjoying the challenge of it all. 😀
Well done you! Looking fabulous ❤❤❤

Congratulations on a job well done. The frame and surround look like it's always been there
