Love that each month is a different theme, but the same format-the aliens and fireflies are my favorite 🤩 I also might steal the 24 most influential horror books spread for my journal next year…
I’ve been browsing booktube/journal content creators and I’ve seen some lovely journals but yours is the first channel I’ve come across that I finally feel like the creator reads similar books as me!! I love that seeing the Annihilation book cover in the thumbnail is what stopped me in my tracks and got me to watch the video, and that is also a book you spoke highly of and called a favorite. Anyway, easiest like and subscribe of my life! Excited to see more from this channel 😊
Wow, thank you! Glad you’re here! I was having the same dilemma as you, which is one of the reasons I started this channel. Weird / dark book readers like to journal too! 🥰
your journal is so so cool! i love how every month spread has a different theme to it while also looking cohesive among the rest! loved this video so much
Just subscribed to your channel - I loved this video. All your spreads are great but I thought February was the most fun while May was simply amazing, you are really talented.
You’ll definitely get a like and subscribe from me! Loved watching this and I adore your craftsmanship. I’m gonna use your idea of author pages! And I really liked your January rain theme as well as the others👍🏻
Thank you for the lovely flip through and thoughts! I really forgot how colorful your layouts have been (which I love personally haha). Also as much as I do love your firefly theme, the ufo one is probabably my fave, haha. The UFO stealing the 'A' is just too funny and clever.
wow, your phomemo thermal printer seems to do a much better job than mine-- more crisp and bold. The April one is stunning, but I also really love the quirkiness of the UFO and the color scheme of the origami! 💚
I usually put this videos as background noise so I didn't really see all the spreads, but your voice is so soothing I didn't feel the 40 minutes. I just subscribed to you channel. I envy how creative you are. I tried to fill a reading journal but I couldn't accommodate to it but watching your video gave me the satisfaction I'm craving in a reading journal. Great job!
Oh wow, I love the alien theme! It has such character :) I'm also a big Kameron Hurley fan. I really recommend God's War and the sequels. Love the april theme too, it looks beautiful. All of your themes look very thought-out. Like even though jellyfish are popular I sure didn't see jellyfish like those little stubby ones in any journaling videos I've watched. You made it your own.
When I was an English major I thought I was a fast reader which I am for the books I like but seeing how fast classmates read books we were forced to read I got into a reading slump. Took me 4 years to get back to love reading and not compare how many others read compared to me.
I have been going down a reading journal rabbit hole the past few days and your journal style is the closest to the approach I'd like to take with my own: mostly hand drawn + washi tape + not sweating the small things. I'm envisioning starting by trying to mimic the DIY zine style of the 1990s, mostly lots of black on whatever color paper, so your thermal printer is VERY appealing for creating black and white prints of book covers. I do wonder, however, do you worry about how long the thermal prints will last? I saw their default paper is "2-year paper" which seems too short to me! D:
I’m not sure about how long the thermal printing lasts, so that’s a good question. I’ve had it for about 2 years now, and I haven’t noticed fading in my older journals yet. But I’m not sure if that will continue to hold up.
@@biblio_creep Oh, I'm glad you haven't noticed any fading and your success using it for over two years is a good point of data. They do make 10-year tape so maybe you ended up with some of the good stuff!
15:11 resounding advice or reminder because despite my love for notebooks or analog book logs, theyre not exactly as portable or compatible as my lifestyle wants it so I just keep records on obsidian (i try on my default note but not exactly easy to look for, at, and back on.) Plus obsidian files are easy to transfer esp if it's without too much plug-in dependence. I really enjoyed your templates or set ups. I also try to read a specific author's books when ive become more aware of the authors (i feel bad having had a mindset of "dead author" to the point of not minding their names as much as I tend to forget book titles and only remember the gist of what i read 😂-my main objective for a book log ngl) 21:01 👀 exactly HAHAHA my stars are basic "didnt like it, good enough, evoked so much emotions i wanna tattoo it in my mind" which are just 1,3,5 with mild "buts" to affect if it's a 2 or 4 😂 I find myself not diving into too many genres outside my comfort zone just coz i dont easily latch on them unless the author has interesting characters that overshadows a complicated plot 😂 sci-fi or fantasy esp coz too many world building on them. (My comment is getting long but i really love this flip through)
Your flip-through is cute. I have no creative skills and supplies like yours, so I keep a very simple reading log (pen and paper in my planner). I track what I read on a daily basis and do a short three-sentence review of the book when I finish in the planner (A5 Hobonichi).
I usually just download the book cover images from amazon to have a higher quality image, or if you want a smaller file size you can download from goodreads.
I have never thought of doing the washi paper dots to “colour in” the number of books read. That is such a smart idea
Thank you, I colored in with marker last year, so I was looking for a way to change it up. Thank you so much for watching!
Love that each month is a different theme, but the same format-the aliens and fireflies are my favorite 🤩 I also might steal the 24 most influential horror books spread for my journal next year…
Thank you for watching!
Some wonderful idea!! I am just now starting a book journal for the first time. Thank you for the inspiration.
Wonderful! Have fun!!!

The alien spread absolutely sent me. It could not be cuter. How on earth did you do that glowy effect with the green?? It's PERFECT!
I love that one too! I just used the brightest paint pen I had. Thanks for watching!!!!
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful drawings!
Thank you so much!!!

Awesome! Thank you!
For your book log pages, it could be really fun to do a "dutch door"?!
Ooooh, yeah. Thanks for the idea, I'll have to keep it in mind!
I love your craft paper shadows on your POPSUGAR pages. Just subscribed!
Thank you so much!!!!!!!
I am a firm believer that star ratings SHOULD be by feel and feel alone 😂
Me too, even though they vary wildly… 🤣
I always look forward to your reading journal updates :-)
Thank you so much for watching!!!! ❤️

Thank you so much for watching! I love the UFO too, I was so proud of myself for that idea...lol!
Love the yearly tracker with the genre color-code: at the end of the year you can see your most-read genre!
Yes! I love how it looks at the end of the year. Thank you for watching!!!
wow, your phomemo thermal printer seems to do a much better job than mine-- more crisp and bold. The April one is stunning, but I also really love the quirkiness of the UFO and the color scheme of the origami! 💚
Thank you so much for watching! Have an older Phomemo so maybe that’s it?
I love your reading journal, it's wonderful 😍 I love your may theme, it's the one that I like the most!
Thank you so much! I love the colors in that one!!!
your reading journal is so lovely!
Thank you so much 😀 and thanks for watching!
Such a chill and lovely flip thru!
Thank you so much!
Your monthly spreads are sooo good. I love may !
Thank you! I love that one too!
Chartreuse is also my favorite color! Subscribed.
Yay for chartreuse!!! Thank you for your support!! 😍😍😍
I love the computer theme so much! I might try monthly themes next year, it seems so fun. 😊

A Bildungsroman killed me as a German 😂 love haven German English mixtures in my journal
😂
How did you get the covers curved
I bought a corner cutter from amazon, so I can just snip off the edges so they're curve. Thanks for watching!!!
Where do you find the book cover pictures from. I wantbto.add yo my readi g journal
I usually just download the book cover images from amazon to have a higher quality image, or if you want a smaller file size you can download from goodreads.
